i have an ultra rare radio promo of this album in nm condition if interested leave a post here ,but do it fast as i have the greatist rock record collection that i am gonna sell off
Funny that this is considered one of their 'least popular' albums... I was MENTAL for this shit when it came out!! This, & Dr. Music were my faves from this album. But, I wore the whole damn thing out. =)
Thanks for the tune. It's one of my favorites. I never knew the name of this song and it got very little air play so I couldn't find it on an album when it came out,... years ago,... LOL. I knew that one day diggin' through these songs I'd find it on YouTube. What an asset.
The Cult wasn't afraid to try different things in order to keep up with the times. This WAS the disco/dance pop era. In order to keep in step with the business you had to bend a little. This sound incurred the wrath of longtime BOC fans who felt they really sold out. Unless you walk in their shoes, you'll never know. It STILL has more musical quality and integrity than the garbage we're being fed today.
Hah, we all live in that horror called life.I am from the days of Soft White Underbelly, never give up on BOC or life.We only have them one time, the Reaper Will Call.
Nyvoice:B.O.C. we're never disco! Eric was known for hating it! But, doesn't mean they couldn't get "Funky" sometimes. (Lonely Teardrops sounds a little Stevie Wonder "Superstious") mmm, kinda
great song about woman's vanity! I've met girls like that. yes, sorry ladies are like that sometimes. Buck speaketh the truth (f.y.i that's "Ellen foley" singing back up. she sang on 'Bat out of Hell'. she was also the chick on the 80's sitcom 'Night court'.) In case you we're interested.
Hey what ever happened to the series Columbia was doing remastering the Blue Oyster Cult catalogue? They were doing such a great job on them, and I was looking forward to buying and hearing the rest. They seemed to stop just before they got to "On Your Feet or On Your Knees", but then they did "Some Enchanted Evening". WTF happened?
Such a catchy chorus. If some better-known band had recorded this, it would be played every day on Rock Radio stations and be used in lots of ad campaigns.
@cuttlefisch Back in the day this song received quite a bit of air play. But agreed its popularity was short lived. None the less one of my favorite bands.
The take on BOC in 1979-on Long Island anyway-was that they had gone Disco. This was still a catchy album. The biggest tongue in cheek song was Albert's You're Not The One I Was Looking For. The beginning guitar riffs were a duplicate of the Cars Just What I Needed. Remember that?
I hear the phone ringing.

This song will ALWAYS remind me of my ex-wife. A negative space with a brain...

"Agents of Fortune" is their masterpiece, but both "Mirrors" and "Spectres" are way up there.

@chrishutt66yt Every time I think of a woman I know, this song pops into my head! She certainly does have shining hair and great eyes, however...
