@dreadlife -- This show is all about the story and the characters within. The intro is short so the audience can get right to the show. Were you expecting some Happy Days type of opening?

I take it this season (4) would be the first time you are watching. I would recommend you get up to speed by at the very least watching season 2 and 3 before this one so that you aren't left scratching your head when they talk about previous happenings. AMC will be showing them late night this week. ENJOY!!!!!

Good reflection on the American society, the family and the human being, with a lot of humour and a fantastic writing. Shot in New Mexico, it gives the show a kind of mystic, extra-sunny and raw atmosphere., plus the characters are very endearing. Worth watching!

Word is AMC has given the show an increased budget for season 4, which the creator says will result in even greater storytelling than before, and an ability to shoot on location shots in different parts of the country.
