I know that Sanitas is a private health care Hmo , they have a similar one in Colombia called Colsanitas and it's first class but expensive. All I'm trying to say is that doctors have an obligation to see all patients and not turn it into a system where only the wealthy have access to good health care.

illegal immigration destroyed our health care system, the biggest diference is pay and they don't have corrupt lawyers like we do. In Spain they have an HMO called sanitas it does everything and isn't expensive. We have too many educated idiots who can't fix anything. Solution put doctors on a good salary , if they don't like it take away their license. If they don't want to operate because patient poor take away their license. Medicine should not be business it is a service to humanity.

I'm spanish doctor and remember once in a flight from Paris to Miami, one plane's staff had an injure in her knee, and the unic thing she wanted was not to go to an american hospital. She was really scared. I get really supresed about that.

Catalunya it's not a region, despite the blaversism insultls.

The Catalan (which in english doesn't have any kind of stress) is the language of:

Catalunya, Balearic Islands, l'Alguer, the North Catalonia (in France) and Valencia (despite they said they talk valencian -which isn't being supported by the profesional opinions-)

And, of course, the helthcare system in spain would be much better without the time you need to spent on the doctor's queue.

The Catalan language is spoken near 85%of the population (who, understood and speak -as a second language- the spanish language)

I live in Minnesota in the USA but definitely interested in visiting or even living in Spain in the future. I'm taking Spanish Language classes at my University.

I like living in the US but I'm also interested in Spanish culture. And also the weather is much better.

Many college students in the US "study abroad" because we feel it's important to character building and worldly development. It gives people new perspectives.

Spain is a very cold country in winter specially in some parts of Spain and it is only warm or hot in summer as italy or france etc. If you thought that Spain was a sort of California or Florida then you are wrong. It's all relative. Where I live in the winter it gets to be -17 degrees celsius sometimes. Mediterranean weather is very nice in general.

Spain because I know Spanish (pretty well). I've been to France, Germany, and Italy. All great places but I've never been to Spain.

Probably will go a year from now. I'm not going to bother speaking anything but Castilian Spanish. Most people are bilingual in Catalonia anyways, right?

It's interesting to see how much power autonomous communities in Spain are given.

But the US is much bigger country. I'm not surprised by how much power autonomous communities are given. They all have unique cultures. But it's interesting in the sense that it's the most decentralized government in all of Europe. Spanish officials were probably worried about separatist movements when they drafted the constitution.
