lol Sorry man, I hit thumb down by mistake. Anyway, I agree. It's a lot more acrobatic now. Nothing wrong with that but I prefer the old school foot work. It adds that element of style that you don't get from going right into to windmilling and flying all over the place.
yeh, all my boys from back in the day, ian looks so young on the gmtv breakdance contest that was judged by someone who had never even listened to hiphop, good memories, i was at alot of these places, lets add a soundtrack...
Shame about the sound man. Anyway I spotted Broken Glass[Manchester], London AllStars, Street Machine[Manchester] and Supreme Team[Manchester]. Alot of the clips at the end were in Club Tropicana in Manchester, I was there it was a great night.
I'm so upset that there's no F**king sound. This is old shit from the UK. I can see london allstars and broken Glass. These were 2of the biggest crews back then. Some of the footage is taken from Electro rock, which was a big breaking event held in the hippodrome night club, in the west end.Peace!
Definitively this guy d15craxx don´t know nothing about the breack dancing culture. If yo can see, the 80´s style (old skool)is much more artistic and the movements more stilized than now. Like others artistics X-presions, the breack dance have decayed by the spectacularity and artificiality, and miss the artistic factor. Really, the past times were better than the actual time.
the footage at 0.41 is from 'rock around the clock' which was one nite in summer when bbc went all 24 hours, every bboy/girl round the country collectively shat their pants when it came on. it's on youtube 'T la rock on rock around the clock' or 'mantronix on etc. p.s the footage at 2.34 was of a national breaking contest on breakfast tv 83/84, I've been gagging to see that footage since then as we didn't have a vcr yet and its got old mates of mine in it!. I'd love if someone could post some
I can remmeber watching the competion on T.V Am, and i think the guy who won it was a guy from the Rock City Crew from Nottingham, I think his name was Alfred, they were good days!!!
Oops, I mean 8249.

you need to remember those were the pioneering days. You have to have the past before you can have the future.
