  • 5:46 THE BEST PART :))

  • And there was me waiting for the boys to do a full Monty....*Sigh*

  • best keep the vegas performances to the strip clubs. this was weird!

  • wot a kitsch

  • It was'nt the opening!

  • Unbelievable. This has got to be the worst opening for a show I've ever seen.

  • Maybe that's the point. That it's commercial, it's stripping of the Irish identity. The change of the innocence of Ireland to the... raunchiness of America. The dancing is NOT Irish at all, not traditional irish, comparing this to the Vikings dance.

  • 2:10 oh look they made Michael Flatley look like a Navy captain... this can only get better..... or not -.-

  • Do they have a choreographer, or are they just making it up as they go along? Other posters tell me the rest of the show is better. I mean, how could it be any worse? I have been more entertained by Barney and Friends, which, in my opinion, has superior music and dance moves.

  • So the message is the Irish (women I assume) left their strict Catholic heritage to come to a Puritan, ultra conservative America so they can be sexually "awaken" (or gang raped) by "Captain" Michael Flatley and his crew ....

    hmmm....

What an AWFUL show. Michael Flatley is as good as a creator, producer, and director as Dan Brown is as an author.

  • Speaking as a completely objective third party observer with absolutely no personal interest in the matter...this shit's FANTASTIC. Not Irish dancing by any means. But FANTASTIC.

  • I think you're all jealous...anyway does anyone know the name of the song at 4:11??

  • @Pefuna The only thing I'm jealous is how Flatley can make millions of dollars making this show

  • Oh crap. I must have accidently googled chippendales..

  • i dont understand how a strip show is irish dancing...? ahha

  • @HungaricusDominatus The Irish culture was all in the beginning, did you actually watch the movie? I see it as this scene depicting how Irish Dancing moved around the world and landed in America. That's all it is in this scene. A nice Irish lass being flown off to America where she adapted to their culture.

This is where Irish Dancing became Americanised. You can see it in ADA with their glitzy costumes and wigs. No one's traditional any more. Clearly you don't understand the true message.

  • To all of you complaining about the "sex" in this section, it is not there because "sex sells", it is a representation of the change that the Celtic Tiger brought to Ireland through the 90s and 00s, how Ireland has become "Americanised", hence her dashing, sparkly bikini.

  • @neil123000 I'm glad someone on here has a sense of perspective. I mean really, it is quite rediculous to 'hate on' one scene from a whole fantastic movie.

  • Guys!! Seriously this isnt bad by amy means... its different to say the least but it isnt bad........... I mean the problem I have with it is that theres no magic in it, at least from my perspective... unlike Riverdance which captures my heart every time I watch it. But this isnt bad

  • @MoonLitCat though im not gonna lie i absolutely hate this part of the celtic tiger not to mention the guys looking like their gonna gang bang her then her showing off her "american pride." so yeah not gonna like... dont like this part

  • Lol......she looks like a whore stripping down.

  • Micheal Flatley really jumped the shark with this one.

  • Is it just me or does the opening with the rolling fields remind you of Emmerdale? LOL!

  • This is just fucking awful! I'm actually lost for words! Hahahahahaha!!!!

  • @toppaz79

    Get over it lol

  • @toppaz79 i wanna a ticket for that fly, because i love NY :)

  • I really don't think this part needed to be in the show. Sex sells, but this isn't at all about dance, so why put it in a dance show? The only people there are people who actually care about dance and are there for the dance aspect, so why put it in there? The possible message behind all this is rather unpleasent as well x.x

I really love Michael Flatley, but still.......... no.

  • I don't get it. Pilots/Sailors are boogieing Irish dancers?

  • damn I'd like her in my bed

  • is this an aerlingus commercial???

    ...wtf??

I dance irish and i really like it but this is ridiculous!!! They don't even dance did they hire a table dacer??

One serious question: does anyone consider this as Irish dance?

  • First of all is that Michael Flatley is a performer/businessman. His willing to push the boundries of traditional areas. You still have the Irish dance but he also mixed a few other cultures too.

  • EMMERDALE!! LOLZ

  • This is the stupidest thing iv ever seen!

  • I saw this show with my parents when I was like 14 and my sister was 12.... this was a pretty weird moment in the show, but I guess sex really does sell...

  • i have to agree this is far from irish dancing quite umm odd however im loving it wooo to the sexy hostess!

  • OMG i don't want to know how long they had to practice this scene. I mean, I would have tripped every time. I wouldn't wear shoes that high!!!!

  • how the heck can you dance in those shoes and not fall over!!

  • How can she WALK in those shoes and not fall over, lol!

  • 737, DC10, MD80, 777, 747... nice variety.

My god he looks like Christopher Walken.

  • someone forgot to tell him that pilot don't wear white hats lol.... he looks like a confused sailor hahaha

  • whenvdoes he do that.

  • ufff I wish I could do that rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • omg i can't believe that that's what flatley did that as part of the show!!

  • ummm...all that is missing is the stripper pole....

  • What is this??? It's tacky. What were you thinking???

  • This is kind of ridiculous. What was Flatley thinking? Feet of Flames and Riverdance were beautiful and entertaining. I'm not even mad about the vulgarity. It's just not what anyone came to see or expect from him.

  • This is seriously bad, not even entertaining. The whole thing is so commercial, and for gods sake, i had to skip the part where that lady is dancing in high heels i mean what the hell?!

This isnt even proper irish dance?! all they are doing is walking around a stage occasionly picking up that woman! I dont know how anyone could watch the whole show.

  • This is a fantastic show from beginning to end, if you watched the whole show i think you would agree with me.

  • @Fubeyside I've seen the whole show from beginning to end and there was no need to include a strip show in it, thank you very much.

  • maybe its because they did watch the whole show and not just one little clip from youtube when all his earliest additions were entire stories, similar to this one. just saying cause your response sounds like your just watching this one clip or something

  • @AbiT50 don't like it don't watch it then

  • @AbiT50 oh yeah and she is a profesional pole dancer and striper

  • I am ashamed at these people this isn't anything special or any dancing it is just a dumbass guy and a girl stripping

  • Githicvampiressgwen I agree!!!!!! It's sad that Michael has to show this kind of female image! He can say, "it's for the story" all he freaking wants, but it is just sick!!! Think of how many young girls were out there watching that! And I thought the strip in stolen kiss in fof 2000 was bad....

  • It's really a Ryanair commerical in disguise.

  • HAHA!

  • Lolz. The beginning looks like the opening credits of Father Ted or something. :P

  • It really does:-) I can't believe I even ever watched that show

  • someone should hire her as a USO girl to go overseas and entertain the troops, they'd love her! and i agree that those that are insulted, please lighten up or get a sense of humor or something.

  • im irish and this doesnt insult me, lighten up people, the stripping part must insult some RESERVED irish people

  • i can't stand it!

is she the same bikini girl who gives up the gun in Capone?

wtf! where is to respect to irish culture!?

  • I am surprised that Michael Flatley is involved with this!I have never watched this before and I don't think I will watch the entire show!I think that being sexy is ok being slutty is totally different! If she wanted to be in a show where she gets down to her skivvies then she should be in a burlesque revue or strip club!

  • to be honest, i find it amusing, BUT i must say that she is clever, one dancing "irish" in those high heels can't be easy and secondly, a stip dance like that is acutally really hard to to. anyone who has even done jazz or tap will tell you that lol

  • For those of you who complain that this show is supposed to be purely Irish dancing: watch A New World, and you will see that this show is about eclecticism. It is about the Irish emigrating to America and the new culture that merged with their own. Yes, Irish dancing is not traditionally danced in heels, but eclecticism is about mixing it up! We would be truly stuck in the past if no-one ever crossed cultures, crossed borders, mixed races... come and join the 21st century!!!

  • it's interesting, the only shame is, that it has nothing to do with irish dancing..

  • sexy boys and the girl! ;P

  • And who the hell has been giving this such high ratings?!

    It's a striptease for Heaven's sake!!

  • Get a life you loser!

  • Wow this is really trashy....

  • Dont watch it then!

  • got to watch it to find out what it is in the first place. And yes, it's incredibly trashy.

  • have you seen m f lately he is well fat

  • Probably like the person you will never be?

  • what a load of shite...if i wanted a striptease i wouldve searched for porn not lord of the dance!!!

  • ryanair dance, hehehe

  • yup this is pretty damn silly

  • was this a ballet or irish dance cuz i really dont know!!

  • irish dance..

  • umm no irish dance does not look like that there maybe be irish skips and a turn or two but no he cannot call that irish dance maybe ballet was incorporated but its not truly irish dance....i would know, trust me

  • so the first part was blackbird but why was she doing it in heels.....why was 3/4's of the dance walking????

  • yeah in agree who the fuck dances iish in heels

  • i would know too, i TAKE irish dancing. plus "Celtic Tiger" is an irish dance show. I should know.

  • God, that's not ballet - are you crazy??!!

  • It's not ballet, it's Irish dancing!

  • If you think this is Irish dancing, you should learn more about it.. this is more like a stripshow.

  • This is the greatest scene from the celtic tiger film...

  • this is the worst excuse for irish dance i have ever seen. I did no see one dance step except the one in the begginging which sucked. You dont dance in stillettos. I love michael flatley and he has wowed me with al of his shows but this blows I hate it. I absolutly cannot undertstand wht was going on in his head. He was never one to be tradintional but this is flat out ridiculous.

  • i cannot get over this. This is one of the wrose displays i have ever seen, I love michael flatley but i do not know what he was thinking, perhaps he needed more male audience members? ticket sales down? an incredibly gifted man, we come to see you dance, not the blonde leads stripping down to their bikini's.

  • That is six minutes and 6 seconds of my life that i will never, ever get back.

Now excuse me while I try and burn my eyes out with hot pokers so i never have to set eyes on filth like this again. Irish dancing my arse.

  • What in the world? This completely cheapens everything about the show.

  • I love LOTD and Feet of Flames but what is this?

  • I agree that in Breakout from LOTD, they take off half of their clothes, however, they still IRISH TAP....where as in this piece, they wasn't a lot of Irish tapping going on.. the stripping was a bit much...

  • I love this piece, why they complaints?

On breakout from LOTD the women also take half their cloths off.

Don't be prudish. This show is about Michael's life, where his (grand)parents move from Ireland to NewYork-Chicago.

  • in LOTD, they're IRISH DANCING the whole time, not shaking their boobs for the audience. That was risque, to be sure, but this is nothing more than a trashy strip tease.

And great, this is about his life. But why did he really have to include a number devoted to the strip clubs he apparently attended?

This number and this show are a disgrace to the tradition and history of irish dance. Michael Flatley is incredibly gifted, but he can't just do whatever he wants with irish dance.

  • I'm guessing this is the risque they were talking about.

  • Aren't there like CHILDREN in the audience!!!? Holy crap. There wasn't a lot of DANCING.

  • his worst piece? well, it´s comletely new...

  • this is absolutely Michael Flatley's worst piece of work ever

  • whats the song at 4.10

  • This is nothing but cheap and poorly executed las vegas style entertainment.

  • I'm afraid I don't have any respect for Michael Flatley anymore..this goes too far. He realy shows how much of a womanizing bastard he realy is. I loved his work in the past...but have no respect for him...he's destroyed irish dance with stuff like this..something that is so beautiful he managed to make it trashy. Shame on you Michael Flatley.

  • This show makes no sense. And it definately did not need this strip tease. Unbelievable.

  • come on now you try to dance the irish dance in high heels and tell me if you don't look as bad. two thumbs up to her for giving it a go in those heels bad or not at least she danced.

  • If it's impossible to irish dance properly in heels, THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE PUT IT IN THE SHOW. It's just that simple. Not every idea has to make the final cut! It makes her look trashy and stupid before she even takes her clothes off.

  • If you do not like Celtic tiger don`t watch it

  • I don't find anything bad to say about the person performing the dance, just the actual choreography and the idea of the dance. If the message is traditional culture losing to a modern, confused, over-sexed culture that enjoys self and other debauchery, then they hit it.

Look for even more banal and blantant renditions in a short time. The competition today seems to about who can be the most sexually explicit and shocking.

  • Oh my god...this is awful!

  • is the metaphor that the girl is ireland, stripping off and offering herself to the american audience, to the tune of michael flatley?

or is it something much deeper...?

    michael flatley: a true genius.

  • C'est quoi la musique du strip ???

  • Well, there certainly isn't anything wrong with being sexy..but I have to agree with a few other posts, she perhaps wasn't the right choice for this routine. She kinda reminds me of Britney during her "comeback". No this girl clearly isnt on drugs etc but she can't dance well. Paula Abdul proves that people can kick ass and dance in heals, so maybe she wasnt the best choice for this particular segment.

  • ..control over the show? He didn't become ill until eighteen months after the show premiered, so I don't know why you are saying that.

The scene is representative of the emigration of the Irish to America in the 1840s. The Irish dance section represents the staid cultural heritage of the Irish who are the ancestors of today's Americans. The strip section literally represents the freedom of life in America today, the throwing off of old traditions and the coming in to a modern world.

  • The dancer herself should not be slated for the performance - she is following the orders of director, choreographer and costume designer. People here are making uneducated and spiteful presumptions about the girl being stupid. I know for a fact this lady has a degree, yet it is her choice to tour the world in a show! You are inundated by more sex every day on tv & billboards,in lyrics in popular music than in this clip. As for Michael's "cousin" who said his illness prevented him from having..

  • I have to stand up against the nasty comments written. Just because a girl portrays a stripper in a stage show, it doesn't mean she is a bimbo and a stripper in real life. Natalie Portman played a stripper in the feature film 'Closer' but of course nobody thinks she is an ACTUAL stripper! Those of you who are clever enough to notice will see the same dancer portrays a Rembrandt ballerina in The Lost Rose scene from the show - of course it doesn't mean in real life she's from the 17th century!

  • You know, I've traveled on Aer Lingus, and it is nothing like this...

  • what's song of strip-tease ?

  • Look up "The Stripper" by a man named Rose and I bet you can find that early '60s pop rendition of a real classic strip piece.

  • Désolé, mais c'est pas ça !!!

  • Désolé, mais c'est pas ça !!!

  • sexy or wat????

  • i really don't see what the problem is. Michael Flatley said that Celtic Tiger was going to be about Irish history and pride. In my opinoin, and this is just my opinoin, this piece is simply showing that Irish Women can be just as sexy as women from North America.

  • I don't like things like this b/c some people see the name Michael Flatley, on just about anything, and they just assume, 'Oh, that's what Irish Dancers must be like!" Well theyre not. Michael Flatley hit his peak long ago, I think he should go out with some dignity..

  • This dancer (definitely NOT a stripper as you can tell by her virtually fat-free body) is actually one of the best classical ballet dancers in England (yes, she's British, NOT american). To those believing Irish dance should stay the same forever: One of the greatest things about dance is it's ability to change and adapt. If we were all to only stick to our original ideas about dance we would still be dancing 2 feet away from each other, our ankle-covering dresses dragging to the floor.

  • That bimbo is a disgrace to women and Irish dancers everywhere. No wonder it took so long for us to get the vote with stupid slags like that about.

  • Man Flatley is my cousin and he say that half of this show wasn't his idea. Like he started out w/ amazing ideas like dancing like they did waaay back then but then is mysterous illness came along and his ideas got changed.

  • Salut, c'est quoi la chanson du streap tease ? Merci

  • Oh...I know why he has all this slutty stuffs in the show: It takes Place in America in (1900's?) and this was ppls lifestyle!

  • omfg, what r u gys doing?

  • I kinda don´t like this one .. it has actually nothing to do with irish dance .. i think ... dunno ... but it´s a funny idea ... lol

  • This is irish dance????

  • Celtic Tiger isn't like his other show ("Lord of the dance" for exemple)It'isn't just irish dance and irish music. But, I agree with you.

  • Alrighty Then,

She can barely walk in those heels, let alone dance!

Maybe she should stick to stripping :]

    Flatley, what happened?

From having such talented dancers to strippers?

  • absolute crap man, flatleys wrecking everything. sad because it started off so well, riverdance and the original lord of the dance, back in the 90's

  • That's horrific.

The flame background looks like it's straight out of a Burger King advert. There was stripping in LotD, in Breakout, but this is just tasteless.

I used to be obsessed with Riverdance/LotD but I see now that RD is the only one with any kind of merit.

  • SCREW YOU!

  • holy crap wat is wrong with micheal flateley ... like feet of flamews was huge and so was river dance but now he has strippers in his shows ...WOW!!!!!

  • ok come on, michael flathead! did you really have to put a stripper in your show, and ruin irishdance?! people see that, and that's what they think irishdance is. but its not. this show was FAR from what irishdance is. yea, there were some "real" irishdancing in it, but come on, a stripper????

  • what the hell? michael flatley has really spoilt irish dance.. he needs to retire!!

  • I was at the premier of this show. I love all of the dances (but a bit less the one with in the garden, full of flowers)

  • ya this show was a bit of a joke in my opinion. i know one of the dancers and even she thought it was a joke

  • oh my God her leg went no where when she kicked it up!! lol. That is such a shame

  • Is this dance a tribute to Aer Lingus for giving Irishmen easy, reasonably priced access to American strippers?

  • how did the union jack feature there at the end??

  • I have to say I didn't love the show, BUT it did have some good parts. The snake orgy was a bit odd for me as was the dancing bugs...

  • OHH YEA what a relief looking at her ! completely beautifull,,so much satisfaction for man like me !

  • Irish dancing in High Heels........

    that must be tricky....

  • I think this show (thugh i haven't yet seen it all) is a little autobiographical I don't see Michael Flatley writing an autobiography on paper, he's too visual for that. most dancers are!

  • look at that swagger. flatley can dance like heck but he needs to get over himself a little. it's a turn off.

  • Michael Flatley rules!

  • I'm sorry as much as really like Michael Flatley I feel that someone missed the boat when it come to the consept of this new show. IT MAKES NO SENSE WHATSOEVER!!!

  • it is supposed to represtnt the various places and experiences of the irish people throughout history.

  • If you guys don't like it?? Why are you watching the videos and posting??

  • WTF??? Michael losing the plot...........bring in the men in white coats!

  • Is the blonde his wife? She looks familiar???

  • maybe

  • I love Micheal Flatley LORD OF THE DANCE but I feel he has lost all focus of why he Got started in Celtic Dancing and creating his shows. This CELTIC TIGER has sadden me. Maybe its his way to Portray the Old style Traditional Celtic dancing to the New modern way of dancing. He needs to stick with the roots and why irish dancing is so great! SAD IN OHIO. JON

  • this is sad...ridiculus

  • Hey, you gotta admire a woman doing ballet in high heels. That can't be easy.

  • yeah...but...it still ridiculous...

  • OH MY GOD. i have loved michael since the day i was born and i think he is an amazing dancer, i can't believe he might not do any more. i have everything he has ever done, and i dont care what people think. i'm part irish and try to learn from the moves he does and i'm gettin better, never any where near his standards though!!!

    xx

  • ah shut up, its a laugh!

im an irish dancer n i love it

  • This is utterly disgusting and nothing more. What the hell was he thinking? >_>

  • I think he's trying to appeal to a wider audience by switching from people who like Irish dance to people who like strippers. Judging by the sounds of the audience reaction it worked, which is rather sad.

  • taht's right, but we need to think about irish dancing's future. And I don't think a very traditionnal and conservative way of dancing would help it to be known. that's really really sad. and for the woman....soon a strip tease ??? WTF

  • its all part of entertainment

  • yeah this is really what young girls taking irish dance lessons should aspire to

  • well, no. if you follow the story of the show properly - which a young girl taking irish dancing lessons should do - you'd know that it is about the history of ireland and irish heritage, and about the freedom of the irish being able to travel. it might not be typical irish dancing, but flatley can do whatever he likes! this is one little scene, and the strip is about 2 minutes long. get a grip and be a bit more open minded.

  • It's kind of disappointing that the man who inspired a generation to take up Irish dance now features live strip shows in his performances. I saw this live with an eight year old girl in the seat next to me. Her guardian felt morally obligated to cover her eyes until this was over. I can see the point Flatley is trying to make with this act, but it has about as much appeal and aesthetic relevance as the cheerleaders act.

  • i thought it was a pretty funny commentary on the difference between "standard" Irish and American dance. hm.

  • wtf. this isnt irish dancing.

i hate when flatley does that.

  • Flatley is showing the history of dance in his vision.

  • im missin the irish dancin part in that
