But I know where you're coming from. Some do better when relaxed.

@brownthunderism its not about who is bigger in a bodybuilding competition. of course the judges do look at size, but there are other factors of the body that they look for. like arnold says in the beginning of the movie, its judged upon size, symmetry, proper proportions ect etc.
It's so funny watching Arnold going around psyching guys out before the competition. Watching that reminded me of an interview I saw of Magic Johnson years ago. He said he wouldn't go anywhere near Jordan before a game because he was the same way (i.e. he'd come to you all nicey nicey but his real goal was to throw you off). Personally, if I were one of these other bodybuilders, I'd take the same approach. That is, I wouldn't let Arnold get within 50 yards of me before a competition.
You can hunch that Arnold thinks he will win, talking so relaxed, but I think he's scared to death of the competition. He has just so experienced to not let emotions sip out and destroy his chances.
This and his movie experience makes him a great liar. Aim for presidency.

@discovery2808 Lou didn't have the legs. Trust me, I loved Lou Ferrigno but his legs were under-trained & underdeveloped compared to Arnold's. Arnold was just more of a visionary & more perceptive when it came to what body part needed more work for overall symmetry. Arnold was just more intelligent also. Sorry, just true.

I am not at all into bodybuilding,.,. and I dont find those guys attractive in any way. But even I have to admit, that Arnolds Body was perfect in proportion and symmetry. The different body parts fitting well together. Besides his face is the most handsome and normal of those guys.

to be fair, he never really had a good relationship with his father. I dont remember the exact reason, but when arnold was young his father abused him or mistreated him or something like that, idr. but thats one of the reasons it was easier to not go to his funeral, but stlll

@brownthunderism its not about who is bigger in a bodybuilding competition. of course the judges do look at size, but there are other factors of the body that they look for. like arnold says in the beginning of the movie, its judged upon size, symmetry, proper proportions ect etc.

It's so funny watching Arnold going around psyching guys out before the competition. Watching that reminded me of an interview I saw of Magic Johnson years ago. He said he wouldn't go anywhere near Jordan before a game because he was the same way (i.e. he'd come to you all nicey nicey but his real goal was to throw you off). Personally, if I were one of these other bodybuilders, I'd take the same approach. That is, I wouldn't let Arnold get within 50 yards of me before a competition.

You can hunch that Arnold thinks he will win, talking so relaxed, but I think he's scared to death of the competition. He has just so experienced to not let emotions sip out and destroy his chances.
