ok, i'm late in the game compared to when you posted this vid...but thanks! mine made that machine-gun sound & i wasn't sure that was normal (i assume as it 'reads' the code bar) but i hear your doing it too. hope you are STILL enjoying coffee with it. i like mine.
@rieck55 It isn't dependant on the cup, but the t-disc. That way the coffee is 100% consistent. Most T-discs give you around 8oz of coffee, whereas others can do 12oz+.
hey it's fake...this machine makes a very loud sound (and funny)....i have one and i threw it in the garbage....u don't have to drink the coffee..it wakes u up only with its sound....
Many t discs have more than just coffee or tea, lots of them have boatloads of known cancer causing petroleum based chemicals and other artificial cancer causing ingredients. I'd highly recommend avoiding those t-discs at all cost as they are a serious chronic disease like cancer waiting to happen. Better yet, get a super automatic machine, they cost a bit more upfront, but by using whole coffee beans the cost per cup is 10-15 cents instead of 40-80 cents, they pay for themselves in 4-12 months.
@aabsc You are posting this on every Tassimo video. Work for Keurig, eh? What makes you think your cancer claims on the T-disc wouldn't be the same for the K-cup or any other pod?
@VonFisch1 No I don't work for Keurig and no longer have my Keurig, I have a super automatic machine now that takes whole coffee beans and grinds/tamps/brews. The Keurig chocolate cups and flavored coffees also have cancer causing chemicals and ingredients, but with the Tassimo, much more of the discs have these chemicals and ingredients and much more of them.
@VonFisch1 Yes, but it saves you a grand per year on coffee assuming 4-5 coffees made per day, compared to cost of K-Cups because it uses bulk coffee beans. Not to mention it makes much better coffee than any of these single serve machines. So after a year of use that machine is essentially free, and saves you a grand per year from then on. MUCH less expensive than paying up to 70 cents a coffee which these capsule based machines.
@aabsc I see what you mean but people buy these pod machines for the ease of clean-up. I'm the only person in my household who drinks coffee and not every day either. So to have a machine like yours would not be saving me anything and I'd avoid it due to the clean up involved. Most who buy the pod machines don't have a grand upfront to buy your machine. Looks nice but it's the Sub-Zero of brewers. It's more affordable to pay as you go for this little luxury which is less than coffee shops.
@VonFisch1 Cleanup is too hard on mine? Did you watch the video? You do realize that making a coffee with that is as simple as pressing a button? That's all, there's no cleanup, the machine empties and cleans the filter after it's done, all you ever do is press a button when you want a coffee (ok, you need to empty the waste bin every 14 coffees, but that takes no more than 10 seconds). There's more work and cleanup with a pod machine as you need to take out pods and throw them out each time.
@aabsc Okay-cannot tell any of that clean-up by your video except the "making" part. However, still unaffordable for the middle class masses and I cannot find science articles supporting your cancer claims on pod brewers. Good luck on your crusade here but nobody can run out and buy one of these machines, even if they wanted to and I cannot believe you think 1K is a "bit upfront" in cost. Like you said, it's an entire year's worth of coffee to buy one. That's realistic.
@VonFisch1 Mine is a more expensive models, there are some automatics starting at $300-400 (which could be paid for in months of savings). About the pods it's not the pod itself that causes cancer it's ingredients they contain like sugar, artificial petroleum based flavors and sweeteners, commercial dairy products, all of these dramatically increase cancer risk. Coffee itself is also carcinogenic but nowhere near as much as those ingredients.
@aabsc It's been reported that coffee itself fights against cancer. You should check out Scientific American and American Cancer Society about coffee and cancer. Who's afraid of sugar? Petroleum ingredients are unfounded. Plastic is petroleum based but that isn't absorbed. Tassimo uses real milk which is ultra pasteurized. Artificial flavors in the flavored coffee or latte but that's everywhere. Forget the cancer angle, you haven't convinced anyone.
@VonFisch1 You clearly have a LOT to learn about health. And if you trust the ACS for health info you might as well kill yourself, their goal is to tell people things that will increase their risk of cancer dramatically, that's why cancer rates are skyrocketing when the cure of cancer is already known and free (just stop doing and eating things that cause cancer).
@VonFisch1 It only takes a few teaspoons of sugar per day to increase your risk of cancer more than smoking does. Artificial colors, flavors and sweeteners are almost all synthesized from petroleum and coal tar. They do not use real milk, real milk is natural, raw, unpasteurized, non homogenized, not processed into powder, and from organic cows. Commercial milk that's been pasteurized and homogenized is the fastest way to get cancer, heart disease and diabetes, it is completely artificial.
@VonFisch1 And the artificial flavors can easily be avoided, I never without exception consume anything with artificial colors or flavors, they are well proved to cause cancer and other severe health problems.
Read from independent, unbiased science based sources if you want honest health information. Trusting the ACS is the best way to die of cancer decades prematurely, just as they want so they can make over $100K profit by exploiting you.
@aabsc Oh, for crying out loud. I think the Tassimo would be the least of your worries. Good luck with that. I think I'll now add some International Delight Hazelnut to my coffee in your honor.
I have one too, and it's great. The only issue I have is when I have to remove the milk disk after brewing. It usually drips milk product over the bar-code sensor or onto the counter top. This even happens after the machine has been off for hours, and I've forgotten that the disk is still in there. Not a deal breaker, but a slight annoyance.
I got this machine for Christmas this year and find the taste of regular coffee just ok. I have also a Cuisinart espresso machine which I use regularly for cappucinos and espresso coffee and the coffee taste from that machine is much, much better. If you want the best tasting coffee you have to do a little bit more work. I always grind the cooffee right before I make it. But for convenience, the Tassimo is fine.
Dude! Thank you so much for posting this! I absolutely hate my Kuerig because it does not steam milk for fabulous cappuccino's! My girlfriend bought this and recommended it highly! I'm going to go ahead and buy it after watching your vid! Thanks, I'm convinced!
My Tassimo Machine wont make the coffee come out. I put the disc in and nothing comes out after doing the steps. Help? Is there anything that is above the disc when its in the machine so it cuts it?
Well, as you said in your review here, if you prefer espresso only, go for the Nespresso system. Well in case you didnt know, Nespresso make the Lattissima machine, with excels in making milk drinks using REAL milk.
I love my Keurig but I really wish it was able to make milk products. I wonder if in the future some sort of milk k cups will be released for it. As of now, I just brew some strong coffee and add my own frothed milk, no big deal.
@audisport Thats a tough call, they are ALL fantastic, and it is totally dependent on your personal needs. For the expresso/latte fans I would suggest the nespresso as that is its specialty, but when it comes to Tassimo vs. Keurig its again personal preference. Both the Keurig and Tassimo make fantastic cups of coffee, yet the Tassimo is the only one that can also make milk products.
However, the advantage Keurig has over the Tassimo is an even LARGER variety in coffees and teas, as well as it seems to be easier to find the K-cups instore versus the T-discs..
It came with a variety pack and from that I liked "coffee people donut shop" . I have a few boxes of Van Houlte to drink through and they're good. But apparently the Coffee People Donut Shop is the top rated on Amazon.
I really like it. I actually use the reusable filter "my k cup" for most of my coffee. Works great. I drink the Costco house blend beans. Its been a really great device.
Dude, can I come and move into your house? That little coffee bar is awesome! Love the hammered sink, that's hot :)
Side note, why do so many people pronounce it eXpresso? There is no X in it. It's espresso... the es is pronounced like essence... kinda funny how so many people started adding that x sound in there... lol
@sacredsiren Kind of funny how people call all kinds of stuff differnt things Expresso is the french word for Espresso so either one is correct only a prudent asshole would be like um its ES PRESSO not X.
It's Espresso, not Expresso...
