He missed the open door in the Chamber of the Sacred Markers. He could have made up time had he gone that way.

@NDLady1985 Both Purple Parrots overlooked the door from the Pit to the Chamber of the Sacred Markers, seeing they were attempting the most direct path. Unless you are searching for the Mask of Chaka Zulu, the direct path usually does not work as the Temple Guards (spotters) usually lock the most direct doors. Player One would have been evicted in the Room of the Ancient Warriors, leaving Player Two to assemble the Monkey, climb down one of the ladders, and at least tag the Compass.
