I know you made this ages ago so your probably better at effects but I like making gore effects like that too so I thought I might give you some tips.
The only tip I have is to make thicker and more realistic blood. There's some good vids on youtube that show you how to make really good fake blood. If you can't find one I favourited one so you could go to my channel and find it in my favourites.

Ive also recently been trying to figure out how to do some effects without using liquid latex cos my friend is allergic to it but ive just been busy with school certificate coming up. So these vids will be later.
