I had such high hopes when I saw that you were playing with Gary Numan here in Melbourne, and they were surpassed. I LOVED your set and this in particular. I've loved this song since I saw it in '85. And there's a sadness to this new clip that I don't see in the original...
This is amazing. The video is really off-kilter which makes it very memorable. I've been trolling the internet looking for this for days since hearing it Friday night. Cheers!
I swear there has been an extra edit in the last few months. The line "oh sweet everything" has been given more presence and a few more effects which for me draws it back closer to the warmness of the original. I swear over my life I have listened to this track 1000's and 1000's of times. Probably one of the last I will play also - reminds me of better times.
@Herne0011 No boss, no new edit. Maybe YouTube added a few more Hertz. You do realise that YouTube videos have really horrible audio quality! Don't base anything on what you hear.
Well, Tom, that was the most schizophrenic experience I've ever had on YouTube. I especially like your use of distorted vocals. How did you come up with that jingly melody? That was way back in '85, right?
Seems like Tom has a little Salvador Dali in him. His grand weirdness never fails to surprise. I remember the old version from "Come Visit the Big Bigot," this is even weirder!
Yes but you see the 80s band all died in a horrible car accident on Dec 12th 1989 thereby staying an 80s band for ever and ever and no it can't possibly the same people because they ARE ALL DEAD YOU HEAR ME DEAD.
@ferpastorino Sadly the 3D lecturers at my workplace would disagree with you :-) I have a long way to go in learning natural animation. Which is why I tend to make simple looping motions.
loved this track since the day i first heard it! been a massive fan since '86... if we had a choice of one artists music that will play eternally in the afterlife... that would be a no-brainer!!!!
Brilliant as always, Tom! I will forever do what I can to try and get you the recognition you so richly deserve! SInce I'm currently not a writer or DJ anymore, it may be in smaller clusters at a time, but who knows what the future holds! You changed my perceptions from early on, like Alice in Wonderland thru half-conscious-yet -lucid telescreens, saturated psychic radio waves transmitting neo-iconic flickers of meta-imagery and gut-level reactions that transcend cyberpunk. You're a Surrealist.
Thanks Tom, this video is just so freaking awesome its one of my most favorites! I liked the last version too. Yes I have been a big fan since 1992 and your works has been such a joy and inspiration to me. Thanks for your consciousness on this planet!
I have ALWAYS been a huge fan of this track and really like this tweaked version - The Hellraiseresque video is actaully quite disturbing but really fits the song... Thanks for posting Tom
Okay, after watching it again, the additional distortion doesn't bother me as much, but I still don't get the addition of the bar over the eyes of the singing image.
Thanks Tom - I have been listening to this track since 1992 and I still listen to it often. My friends and I were so so worried when we saw the last version of this remake go offline - we thought Youtube had pulled it or something. Is the new version available anywhere for purchase?
Old fans never forget and never abandon. Keep up the great work.
I like it, but I have a couple of questions and a comment. First, what's up with the black bar over the eyes of the singing image? Also, since this was slightly reworked from the last version, shouldn't it be referred to as 'Harold and Cindy Hospital 2009'? As for the comment, personally, I preferred the vocals with the virtually unnoticeable distortion on the first 2007 version. The level in this version seems a bit unnecessary, and makes it sound slightly cluttered.
If you have to ask about the black bar over the eyes of the singing image - then you just don't understand at all....it sounds fantastic to me. I've no idea what djeclipseniagara means about vocals sounding cluttered? the vocals are very similar to the original 1985 version.
Austin, in the first 2007 version, the singing image didn't have a black bar over its' eyes, and yes, the vocals in this version are similar to the original, but I feel that the cleaner vocals in the first 2007 version had more of an impact.
The vocals in the version of H&C on the Showbag DVD are even different to these two. Lower pitched and very eerie, but quite nice. I like them all in different ways, and they would make a neat new mix cd along with the new Greater Reward, Choose Evil, Hot With Fleas and the others. That is up to Tom though, and I have to respect his decision that he might never put out an "album" under the Sevs name again.
Amazing video. Love this animation. I know a gay leather bar in Toronto where this would be a big hit. lol

This video is really interesting and disturbing. I haven't heard this mix of the song before. I like the ringmod on the voice. Very cool effect!

I admire you , Tom ! This is one of my favourite song ... and this new re-organised version is very cool ! verse / chorus / verse / chorus !
Even if I'm not fond of the too recognizable FL SLAYER sound ! because I prefer the old FM metallic destructive Pad, much more frightening !
but this is very strong , nice and the film is perfect ! :)
