Why was it never realeased in cd format? Wow would love to get my hands on this album again played all my old tapes untill they broke... This is still my all time favourite rez song and it brings back tons of good old memmories...
A lot of Resurrection Band's music has gone unnoticed, but I like to think about those that their music has been a tool to reach them. This music speaks volumes to me, and they have been my favorites since way back. Btw, my first album I bought was Rainbows End, then Colors. My favorite ... that's a hard choice, Idk, pick one. :)
They originally played under the name "Charity" before they settled in Chicago and changed their name to "Resurrection Band" in 1972. Maybe that's where the confusion is.
Ahhhh yes, the Sweet Comfort Band...these were all I had when I was saved at 17...Phil Keaggy, Dallas Holm, Don Francisco and of course Larry Norman...First time I hear The Resurrection Band (before they called themselves Rez lol) I told the guy who was witnessing to me...No, way that's Christian lol...supposed to be organ music and drones right? lol
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. There are very few of my favorite songs that became a loved song after only hearing it once and this is one of them. I was at a concert in Columbus Ohio as a college student and they were performing, I believe as the opening band. I was not familiar with REZ and they started out with this song. I loved it instantly and bought their album that night. I have been a fan of REZ for the great music but mostly for the great ministry.
Funny. If you ask Glenn I bet he would say that he enjoys Bryan Duncans music very much..Also SCB is reuniting with a new CD and a fall tour...
Old REZ fans looked at this CD as new,,,a return by the band after quite a bit of time off... This is the first CD released on GRRR records...and got the band back to their blues best...first 2 albums with start song..3 with light..3 with sparrow...then a layoff and then..then this one..and of course many more...all with grrrr..
I saw them on their final concert tour in a small venue and its still one of the best concerts I ever attended. This was the opening song. I think my ears are still ringing from that concert 20 years later!! I still love the gut wrenching lyrics of REZ. Glenn and Wendi were awesome. God Bless em. They were just so real and down to earth.
Well my knowledge of them isn't the greatest so I don't know all the members or how the line up may have changed over the years. But I know they started out as the Sweet Comforts band, went to Resurrection Band... and finally ended up shortening it to Rez Band. Saw a live performance when they were still Sweet Comforts back when I way maybe 12-14 years old (I'm 40 now). Lonngggg ago. lol
Sweet Comfort Band was a completely different band. In fact, in the late 70's, I saw them both in concert. Brian Duncan was the singer in Sweet Comfort Band.
@absolut3z3ro i think u might be incorrect bout rez band and sweet comfort band. rez band has been around many years. sweet comfort was a differ band w/ bryan duncan as i 'member. saw rez band at disneyland. they had a huge band. had tapes from both groups.
Rez Band were never Sweet Comfort Band. They are two totally different sets of people. Sweet Comfort Band was Bryan Duncan, Kevin Thomson, Rick Thomsen, and Randy Thomas. Rez was Glen Kaiser, Wendy Kaiser, Stu Hess, Jim Denton, etc.

Am I glad I found this clip and read the comments, for years I have loved REZ, but have never found anyone that shares my appreciation for them. Their lyrics tell it like it is, there sound has grunt with a beat that will knock you off your chair. Their music pulls emotions from your heart thats been buried for years. God bless REZ and anyone who hears them.
Brilliant rockin Rez - best track on the album and a killer track at that. I think Rez will deservedly earn a place in Rock history - thx for loading these awesome tracks!
This is the first song I can remember listening to as a child. My Dad loved Rez and I never fully appreciated the greatness of their music until recently. Excellent music!
I agree edoerner. This is the first REZ album I got, and it gave me a whole new perspective on what Christianity has to offer us vs. what the world offers. This album has some of the best lyrics of any Christian album I've heard, and I've heard alot. I recommend listening to the whole thing to be challenged and encouraged.
This is sadly one of the most underrated and forgotten albums in Christian rock music... it was a big commercial hit in it's time and got a ton of airplay but maybe the brutally honest album cover freaked too many people out... But the message remains relevant today that God's love is the only real answer in the middle of the trappings of what people try to bring to your life...
Few bands have ever said it better than on this album, and it remains a classic
@edoerner I agree! This was the first REZ album I ever bought; I got it in 8th grade BECAUSE of the album cover. :) I've since bought just about all of REZ's albums, and this remains my favorite- the lyrics and message are spot-on for today just like in '88 when the album came out.
BTW, I finally visited JPUSA Dec. '09 and met Jon Trott there; it was cool to hear the story behind him writing the lyrics to "Rain Dance" which is my all-time favorite REZ song. Here's to brutal honesty with love!
Hope they do sth 4 the 30th Band's Anniversary, great band!!!
