  • slight video editting at 1:06

  • Your right hand is so stiff and looks suspicious. Relax relax relax. Good routine but needs a lot more work on the classic palm and switches. As Harry Loraine used to say "don't make a 'move' of it" Just do it.

  • @ChadSanborn Chad! are you still flipping the 3 coin into your pants? I have that DVD. THe video you commented on is old. Check this one:

  • Work on your palming a bit bro.

Your hand looks really cramped with a coin classic palmed.

The shuttle pass is also really telegraphed.

    Loosen up a bit.

    Not bad though.

    Keep practicing.

  • He had two coins, he pretended to drop one as he let go of the other below the glass.

  • he dropped the glass in his lap

  • i kno the last trick....

  • the shuttle pass was a little jerky but that didn't seem to bother the spectators at all. Great performance overall great reactions. That was just fun to watch.

    Gotta love John's magic.

  • lol, i know how to do the last part:) it's not that hard, just watch where he moves, that's all i'll tell u!!!!!

  • waauuu...... that glass gone??...

  • the glass at the end beats me!

  • As far as how to do it, simply practice. Not a fake coin or a fake glass. BTW kneeoncoin... I would pick up the glass a couple more times and bring it over your lap before it disapears, thus making the illusion from this angle more believable. Seconds 66-67 look like you drop it. Maybe a different angle would suit you better

  • I haven't entered the magic circle but I do enjoy professional magic actors do their thing. I'm not slating you or anything to make you feel bad, because you're good at what you do.

The only thing I'd change is if you were to give the glass to somebody else and they check that it is indeed a real glass bottom. That way you've already made the illusion that it's a real one, which just amplifies the effect of your slight of hand. Plus, audience involve always makes the trick seem more genuine

  • Woah... How the hell do you do that?

    Good job man.

  • could u plaese tell me how to do this in a message i am trying to be good at magic tricks but im struggling

  • nice job. although i know how to do it i could never done it as good as you did. keep doing ur magic. ur rele good at it =]

  • Thanks man!!!

  • very well done, but still have got room for improvements... the sleight of hands looks just a little unnatural... but the last bit of the routine fooled me...

    overall, pretty impressive...

  • very nice

  • Honestly, I think you may need more practice not telegraphing your moves. However, it was still okay to watch.

  • That's great Anthony. However, in order to take your criticism seriously I need to know that you are a real performer. Where have you uploaded your videos? "All hat and no cattle" does not roll well with true professionals.

  • What telegraphing? This is a real pro performing for actual people, who were entertained by the magic. Can you entertain people or are you one of those twenty-something's recording yourself from your bedroom, to the soundtrack of rap music while Mom does your laundry?

  • very nice ditch and steal very nice indeed

  • fuck stupid evry time he puts the corter through the glass he flips it so fast u cant see and when the bottle dissapeer look at his hand whith the bottl and he drops it on his lap and keeps the shape in his hand

  • do you think that maybe he flicks the second coin toward himself at 00:48 cos he doesn't seem to palm anything when he picks up the tissue

  • i know how you maid the bottle dissapear dude.but very good.=]

  • Where is this routine published of Carney's.

I'm very surprised how people post solutions (often wrong) to give themselves an ego boost. It's hilarious.

    And sad.

Aside from preparing for and performing the shu**** P*** at the beginning, quite well done.

  • Carneycopia. It's an awesome text.

Righto on the Sh*** P***. I always read that video taping yourself would help improve moves. It really did point out area that I have already begin to modify sense viewing. Thanks for commenting. Check out my Cups and balls.

  • I have that book. It's one of my favorites. I don't remember reading that one. I bought the book for the cylinder and coins and ended up creating a business after having a few cylinders made. theambitiouscard[dot]com

I'll go read that routine tonight. Thanks.

  • Page 25:

Soft Glass: a half dollar penetrates a glass multiple times

What an awsome site! I visit it regularly and window shop.

  • there is two coins

  • lol figured it out but only cos i know a few sleights, i need to practise this. 5 stars!

  • That's pretty cool. His palming's a bit of alright ey?

  • is this true!!!???

  • it looks like it cuts out a bit at 1:07 but i believe that he drops it

  • illusion... correct, not magic!!!

  • bla bla bla... so tell me where is gone the glass??? shut up...

  • The glass is in his lap. He drops it off the edge of the table at 1.07.

As for the rest. He has two coins which he palms to create the illusion of the coins passing through the glass.

  • I saw that too. HAHAHAHA

  • smart u, but i dun believe that he dropped the glass at his lap

  • That is how the trick is done. But you go ahead and believe what you want. If you want to live in denial that's not my problem.

  • he does drop the glass on his lap. Look at 1:04-1:07. He brings the cup near him and drops it.

  • I dont see it the glass dropping but any great classic trick.

  • I meant to say glass dropping but anyway great classic trick

  • wah >_<!!! Someone explain in detail!! I don't see it!!

  • lol u see when he drops the glass at the edge of the tabel xD to easy

  • stfu ok i dident post this is 4 hrs ok> more less, 1 week, Hmmm i would say its a fake! all of them are!

  • I need to stop jerkin off so much... I couldn't see shit...

  • Great to watch a first time, but after close examination (as it has been said before), it's just 2 coins and him hiding one and dropping the other. It all looks convincing, really cool (and a good way to learn by watching it), but I got a good laugh at the end part when he dropped the glass (because it was so obvious on the second watch through).

  • omg this is so simple at sight... manipulation theres always two coins on his power, he drop th one on the left hand while moving the right to hide the other coin its so simple but it looks great... and in the part you took away the coins inside the glass YOU NEVER took it away its amazing how the crowd doesnt perciebe it!!! well done my friend great trick! and be careful while droping the glass on your lap cuz it might get broken sometime ahaha bye!

  • my guestimate from wat i saw wuld be that there are 2 coins and cupping it in one hand and dropping the one in the other

  • ahhh he obviously drops the cup into his lap

  • god i h8 those chain coments..... hey nice trick though :) wherd u learn it?

  • It is a john carney effect. He is one of my favorite magicians.

  • on the last trick he drops the glass onto his lap, bcoz he moved it away form the table in mid air..using the napkin to cover the gap form the glass to the edge of hte table

  • wow Tehn00bifierer your sharp! The first one to have figured it out! (read previos posts, lol)

  • cute trick. i only watched it one time yet knew exactly how he did it. the crowd seemed pleased though. personally, i prefer to be baffled at least the first time the trick is shown to me though, providing i don't already know the trick to it.

  • lol u can c a hole in the cup

  • incorrect trevorac. you should watch closer like everyone else.

  • how does criss angel get it to go into a closed can of coke?????

  • yes the trick is obvious but still he performed it well. We all know there are two coins and that he dropped the cup in his lap but he performed it well.

  • very slick!

  • well said phybrid....

  • ok people, this is a very smooth routine - it's very easy to spot how tricks are done when you can watch it as many times as you want.

Nevertheless, it doesnt matter HOW a trick is done - it's how it is PERFORMED. He performed it perfectly. Great face expressions, confident hand movements. That is what magic is - you'll understand if you are a performer.

  • lol the coin trick was cool i kno how to do that glass one though lol still cool though =)

  • At the end with the glass....He drops the glass...

  • if i can find my cord for my camera, i'll show you a trick I learned from the one and only Criss Angel.

  • I know how the last trick wo~rks

  • wow...that was amazingly..............................................................................................................easy to tell what happened!

  • With the last trick it was kinda obvious how he maintained the shape of the glass with the napkin after letting the glass fall on his lap, still fun to watch though :P

  • obvious, at the begining theres two coins so he fakes a switch then holds the glass with a coin in the right hand and a coin in the left so he can fake to drop the coin in the glass but only releases the coin from the left hand( the one holding the glass) so it appears like the coin went thru the glass but it didnt.NOOB

  • never gets old...

  • lol hey it does jump but the way he did it was...(look down)......

he had a jelly cup haha ^^ i knew it ^^

  • lolol why does the video jump at 1:06

  • at the end you can see him reach for the glass on his lap

  • I seen him drop it to. Mabe live i would have missed it.

  • hahahahahahahahaa i fuckin love it the last trick was great

  • Old = STRONG, TIME PROVEN, CLASSIC That gets a great reaction-Turn your speakers up to hear. Thanks for the compliment!!

  • 1:06 fake.... he drops glass while mantaining shape on the napkin....OLD

  • very nice. and this just goes to show, even the simplist (sp) of effects can play huge for laymen. excellant.
