It's freaking disgusting of how much sugar is in those drinks. He's says drinking water is a better solution to thirst. But even the water is fucked up with loads fluoride.
blah blah blah 39 grams of sugar blah blah blah... they make that seem like a lot... and i can see how it is... but man i consume like 200 grams of sugar a day.... now THAT is bad... i eat too much candy.... AND NO I'M NOT FAT... i'm still underweight after all that...
@Angryjanitor3 , when you are thirsty would you drink sugar or water? Sugar just makes you more thirsty and HUNGRY. That's why people who drink soda are fat and ofter obese...they just can't stop drinking and eating.
@unsheepled I always heard and wondered that! thanx. Oh and great vid! had no idea THAT much sugar was in my favorite drink...let alone fruit juice! We are doomed!
Wow, really "is fat" grow up!!! How many grams of sugar is in your can hateraid?? This Video is a GREAT, and prop's to its creator!!! More ppl should give a shit.
This sure beats all those idiots who random dumb spoonfuls of sugar on a mat in front of a can or bottle and then say, "See? That's how much there's in that can!" I can do that too and pour an entire jar of sugar in front of a bottle of bottled water - doesn't show squat.
yeah, I gotta point out (as a number of others have) that if this guy is skimping on the soda he ain't skimpin on the hershey bars. I agree with ninjajesus; wish they would put half or a quarter as much sugar in it - would definitely be sweet enough. honey instead 'a table sugar would be cool, too.
Fail! 39 is 6.5 teaspoons, not 7.5. and it doesn't "seem ok" to drink it when it's mixed with water, you would actually throw up if you drank that. so how can you drink coke? they have to add acid to it to stop you from throwing up.
giant soda, as in double the size of a can? when was this made?!
and the fruit juice thing.. fruit juice is fine. what you have is fruit juice made from concentrate. fruit juice sugar is totally different from white added sugar in terms of health.
Sadly all that HFCS got me addicted. I would love to stop drinking soda but it is hard. But I mean I am healthy and quite skinny. mostly due to my high metabolism...
Who ever doesn't want to listen to this video because the first thing you notice is that this guy doesn't have a six pack should go die in a hole.... he's trying to EDUCATE you fools... ah whatever it's probably already to late.
I DON'T GIVE A CRAP ABOUT HOW MUCH SUGAR IS IN A CAN OR A BOTTLE OF SODA! I freaking know that it has alot of sugar in it. That's the reason I drink soda. If I want some sugar I'm gonna drink it from a soda. Sugar is good. Fat is good. Salt is good. WHO FREAKING CARES! ENJOY LIFE!
@justgivemethetruth It would probably be more bitter. I don't know if you've ever had a Red Bull Cola, but a can of it had 31 grams of sugar, versus 46 grams in a can of Coca Cola . There's a noticable difference. Red Bull Cola is definitely more bitter. However, I like the taste much better! ;)
How much sugar needs to be in a can or soda for it to taste OK? Maybe half of what we get now ... or less? What would Coke taste like with half the sugar?
See this is why I gave up Soda a long time ago. I use to drink it all the time.
I tried some after going a long time without it and was surprised to find it tasted nasty to me now! It even gave me a headache.
Apparently I'm not the only one who has experienced that, because sense then I have read about people who have changed their diet also find that sometimes their tastes change. They stop wanting and liking some of the things they use to want and like.
I am not following his suggestion to do at home... I not drinking water with 1 teaspoon of sugar...next 2 teaspoon then next 3 teaspoon... Is a lot work of drinking...to do...
I might suffer LBM due to excessive intake of water...haha...
@MachoTawo112 If you had some sense, you would not drink the whole glass each time. Just drink a few sips to get the taste, then add another teaspoon of sugar, and enough water to refill the glass. Then sip again. Continue.
So what if the guy in this video is fat? Who knows.. maybe he figured it out and then he just want to share with everyone else that drinking soda and fruit juice can harm you.
who would give this video a thumbs-down? you have to be a total moron to continue on the journey to diabetes and eventual death. STOP DRINKING SODA - ONE CAN OF COKE = RECOMMENDED DAILY AMOUNT OF SUGAR !!! even though diet coke has no sugar, it still fucks you up pretty bad, caffeine is the main opponent in that one.
In response to thers no sugar in the water. Just lead, fecal matter. chemicals and all the Horrimones and narcotics that people flush down the drain dailly.
I haven't drank soda for almost 7 years now. The easiest way to quit drinking soda is to NOT think of it as giving up soda, but gaining an independence from soda, and freeing yourself from all the ravaging effects of soda, such as weight gain, mood swings, etc. At the time, my main motivation was getting in shape so I could meet a girl, I was 16 at the time.
@MatteoDaKilla well, call him guilty, but he's not lying, in fact he's showing to ya that there is that much sugar in soft drinnks and fruit juice from you supermarket shelf. thats all. i take his word for it, better off drinking water and as for sugar intake, you can get it from other food rather than a 12oz carbonated drink with 8 teaspoons of it. another thing, that guy being fat, can proly take you out lol

Great demo. What I've done with my students is have them pour the equivalent amount of corn syrup into a container. Same thing without the boiling. I then have students research the clinical studies linking HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) to obesity and diabetes. Not good stuff. They also have to find what other products are made with HFCS. Try chocolate milk, catsup, crackers, ... The list goes on and while it's nearly unavoidable, we should try to lessen the amount we take in. Cheers!
It becomes a problem when we consume large amounts. If you go to the movies every so often (once a month or so) then get a small instead of a large. Don't drink a can the moment you finish one. Have one with a meal but between meals, if you're thirsty. Have some water. Natural fruit juices are better. The sugar is not the same. The body processes it differently. If you're thinking about vegetable juice...same kind of sugar found in fruits. Both are plants. The difference is quantity.
Two major points completely overlooked. One is that a can of Soda (Pop) contains more solid mass than just sugar. So to "boil away the water" will not work. The other is what is sugar? It's a carbohydrate. There are many different kinds and while some are better than others. It really comes down to how much we consume as a dictation of whether it is good or bad. Carbs are what we burn to produce energy. Without it, we die. That's the sum of it.
put in 1 teaspoon of sugar then 12 ounces of water then drink it. then put in 2 teaspoons. Then put in 3 teaspoons. then repeat the process to 8 teaspoons... ARE YOU TRYING TO GIVE US DIABETES?
Knowing that there are 16 calories in one tsp of sugar you can divide total calories of the 12 oz can of soda "say 140" by 16 and you get 8.75 tsp of sugar in one can.
If your last name is Brain and it's not a stage name that is fucking awesome. If it's a stage name, it's pretty good. Dirk Science Diggler would have been better.
One teaspoon of sugar is about 4.2 g, not 6 g. 39 / 4.2= 9.28 teaspoons of sugar. A 20 oz bottle of Coca Cola has 67.5 grams of sugar, which is 16 teaspoons of sugar.
he should taste the water that comes from our faucet. tastes great? Not so much... i can make strong tea or coffee with it (sugar not included) but the water itself doesn't taste all that good. i like the taste of the water from the next town over though.
@CursedEyes24 Our hard tap water here tastes bad much of the time and makes scummy coffee and tea. I buy my filtered drinking and cooking water from a local store, using my own 5-gallon jugs. It tastes good and doesn't spoil the taste of food and drinks. The water store offers reverse osmosis (RO) purification, or at higher cost, near-laboratory-grade distilled water. Plain water is my drink of choice.
@upajos Just get a water filtration system. I'm not talking about Brita water filters I'm talking about one that goes under your sink and has three stages of filtration. It will be cheaper in the long run. Buying something like water that you can get for free at home is just ridiculous, and puts money in the hands of corporate greed. I suggest you look up Advanced Water Filtration Systems.
@CainmosniMirrored Been there, done that. Home filtration systems are expensive to acquire, expensive to maintain and a constant source of troublesome bacteria growth. I let the water store people take care of the equipment hassles for me, and the prices they charge are hard to beat after equipment and maintenance are figured in. The store is just a few blocks down the street; it would be a different matter if I had to travel 10-20 miles to go shopping.
but i do eat 7.5 spones of sugar(sorry for bad english) but with water it tastes ranzing but there are other things in it to to make it taste good and i dont really like the taste of water unless i am really really thirsty
Great video. It really puts it into perspective just how much sugar I've been drinking all these years...definitely going to stick to tea and water from now on.
or instead of boiling it you can just read the back of the fucking can.

@thebluesrockers 1 Pound = 453.59237 Grams take that and divide it by 39 and there you have it!
so a case of cola, or soda has a little more than 2 lbs sugar. so a case a week for a yr, = 104 lbs a yr.
I wonder how many candy bars I would have to eat to = 104 lbs of sugar.

put in 1 teaspoon of sugar then 12 ounces of water then drink it. then put in 2 teaspoons. Then put in 3 teaspoons. then repeat the process to 8 teaspoons... ARE YOU TRYING TO GIVE US DIABETES?
davidng5000 1 year ago
So, the soda you drink more and want more and keep you thirsty always due to so much sugar? But why it taste not sweet?
hms2008w 1 year ago
It's not a question of how he grasps the husk , It's a matter of that a one ounce bird cannot carry a two pound coconut....
7777dmith7777 1 year ago
Knowing that there are 16 calories in one tsp of sugar you can divide total calories of the 12 oz can of soda "say 140" by 16 and you get 8.75 tsp of sugar in one can.

If your last name is Brain and it's not a stage name that is fucking awesome. If it's a stage name, it's pretty good. Dirk Science Diggler would have been better.

Water does not taste great. Water tastes of nothing. Impurities give it taste if any!
ThatKidKnows 1 year ago
@ThatKidKnows
Impurities, sure, but in general taste is a subjective experience, so different people have different experiences of taste.
I personally think water tastes great, even though I know that my taste buds aren't doing much work.

NO more soda For ME

One teaspoon of sugar is about 4.2 g, not 6 g. 39 / 4.2= 9.28 teaspoons of sugar. A 20 oz bottle of Coca Cola has 67.5 grams of sugar, which is 16 teaspoons of sugar.

he should taste the water that comes from our faucet. tastes great? Not so much... i can make strong tea or coffee with it (sugar not included) but the water itself doesn't taste all that good. i like the taste of the water from the next town over though.
CursedEyes24 1 year ago
@CursedEyes24 Our hard tap water here tastes bad much of the time and makes scummy coffee and tea. I buy my filtered drinking and cooking water from a local store, using my own 5-gallon jugs. It tastes good and doesn't spoil the taste of food and drinks. The water store offers reverse osmosis (RO) purification, or at higher cost, near-laboratory-grade distilled water. Plain water is my drink of choice.
upajos 1 year ago
@upajos Just get a water filtration system. I'm not talking about Brita water filters I'm talking about one that goes under your sink and has three stages of filtration. It will be cheaper in the long run. Buying something like water that you can get for free at home is just ridiculous, and puts money in the hands of corporate greed. I suggest you look up Advanced Water Filtration Systems.
CainmosniMirrored 1 year ago
@CainmosniMirrored Been there, done that. Home filtration systems are expensive to acquire, expensive to maintain and a constant source of troublesome bacteria growth. I let the water store people take care of the equipment hassles for me, and the prices they charge are hard to beat after equipment and maintenance are figured in. The store is just a few blocks down the street; it would be a different matter if I had to travel 10-20 miles to go shopping.

When did water start tasting great?
psychosavant 1 year ago
All I have to say is... when I was in school I'd never have thought I'd eventually be sitting at home watching videos like this voluntarily.
Skullomaniaaaa 1 year ago
Real sugar's been replaced with corn syrup in sodas!
It's cheaper, cost is 1/3!
szaki 1 year ago
@szaki This is old news. It's been that way since the late 70's early 80's.

@MastaChefSteve If you noticed, he wasn't measuring the teaspoons very accurately. That might account for the error.

The can has 39 grams of sugar.
1 teaspoon = 6 grams
39grams / 6grams = 6.5
He is saying that 39/6 = 7.5 teaspoons. ( 1:56 ) He cant even calculate,
