@CalifaJohn well, it did happen. But with the resulting fire that destroyed much of the city, and the relative unknowns about tsunamis, no one really noticed it happened.
@CalifaJohn Maybe it had more effect on the Ocean Beach area and present day Richmond and Sunset districts. It doesn't seem that it would have reached very far inland or there would have been damage to the structures in GG Park that existed at the time including the windmills and possibly the Japanese Tea Garden and Music Concourse.
It is kind of hard to see from this animation what the effects were on land.

I had never heard mention of any tsunami in the 1906 SF quake, not from historical accounts or family accounts.
