Is the Casio able to focus razor sharp across the entire screen are is one part of the picture always less sharp than the opset side. Usually when used with a pc to display text it's easier to see. I will return my vivitek qumi and buy this if I can get this issue confirmed.
Nice video. Im planning to buy one. But I need a favor.
Can you tell me whether this projector suffers from "Motion Judder" while watching movies in 1080p/50/60 mode. This especially appears in watching movies while camera panning. Since it doesn't support 1080p/24. Can you please reply?
could You do me a favour and upload few more movies... for example with lights on in you room... or when you're playing on your xbox 360... this picture color sharpness and contrast looks amazing... I gonna buy one of these projectors... and one more question is the wall in your room white??? or you use some of projector screens... regards...
We're currently lining the wall with dark fabric around the screen, and that is also making a huge difference. I'll make a video when it's done. Until then, I do have a crappy video from initial ceiling mount here: uvznHGyOKPs. I picked the brightest point in the day for this video, before we blocked out more of the gigantic windows in my place.
@wicek1985 Hi Jayls5.... I just cant wait for your next upload...;)) how long I (we) have to wait for it... hope you'll use youre xbox, computer and cable in action with this projector.... l)

@wicek1985 be careful when buying them, you cant easily get replacement lasers if they happen to go out...Casio is buggy about not letting people have replacement lasers for some reason.
@KeithWasHere1 reason is that these lasers are 2000mW and its 24 of them in one beamer.. they cost $150 each in the black market , people use them to burn stuff and blind the people.. even a 5mW laser is deadly bright.. these are 1.5~2.0W each..
looks fantastic im really impressed with the contrast - so you think silver screen is better than a standard white projector screen ? I just bought the Optoma HD67 with NVidia 3D - the picture is great on my 108in and 84in pulldown white screens, but the more I read and see it looks as though a custom made silver screen is the way to go for higher gain / contrast ?
White screens always appear to sacrifice contrast to me. Just keep in mind that silver screen paint will lower your brightness while increasing your contrast. Since the Casio projector is super bright even in power saver modes, the paint is great. However, if you're going to use 3d on your projector... it might make it too dim for you (read a review about how low the lumen output gets with it). I'm loving the hybrid light source on mine... behaves more like a TV with instant on.
I'm also considering buying one of the casio beamers. The resolution is good, you get more lumens than with almost any other LED beamer, price is also okay (considering what your getting) but I have one very important question. As this beamer was more or less intended for office use, not home theater, is the response time good enough to watch action movies or play games ? Without ghosting or anything ? Thanks!
No it's not washed out at all. It looks great in person. You can just see occasional color shifts in this video because the camera randomly decides to change the lighting and color balance. Basically, I was commenting on the camera's faults in the video.
Hey I just got the A240 3 days ago. I hooked it up and it is pretty impressive. I was curious as to what your Color/Contrast/etc were set at, because yours looks better than mine does. I've tweaked the settings a bit, and improved it from where it was, but curious to see someone else's settings, that could possibly improve my picture clarity. Loving watching movies at 146"...!!! =)
Settings are Eco1 in "theater" mode, simple stuff. The thing that really made the contrast good was painting the wall a flat grey called "silver screen." I can't remember the brand of paint though.
That's how long the light source lasts. You can get it replaced, or buy a new projector. 20,000 hours, if it lasts that long, is probably long enough to render the unit obsolete. That's about a decade of use if you watch it 5 hours a day.
In Eco2 it's whisper quiet but 20% dimmer than what you see here (still brighter than most). In Eco1 setting shown in this video, it's audible but easily drowned out by minimal ambient noise.
It doesn't have a "bulb" life since it's not a mercury bulb projector. It's laser/LED combo. It's rated to 20,000 hours. It's got a full parts/labor warranty for 3 years. The light source is covered for 3 years//6,000 hours (averaging 5+ hours of use a day).
im really considering buying one of these but im tryin to find a review first and there arent any so could you PLEASE make one?

It's identical the whole way across. Just keep in mind the resolution is 1280x800.

Whats the colors like in real life? You said the cam kept adjusting it in the vid so is it washed out or anything?
Cheers!

i hear these things can run for 20000 hours. What do you do after that? You have to buy a new projector or?

@jayls5 yeah but how long does it take to reach half life(when the light source's brightness is reduced to half)
Mropticalgreen 1 year ago
@Mropticalgreen
I'm not sure, since 1) there are two types of light sources, and 2) this product hasn't been out very long.
