what are u talking about maroons?.... what watchmen-watchgay or watever it means?.... this single was originaly known in the motion picture soundtrack of 1997´s BATMAN & ROBIN... with Arnold, Alicia Silverstone, Chris O´Donnell, George Clooney and Uma Thurman, I knew they put again on another movie when I saw the trailer of watchmen on Silver Edition of THE DARK KNIGHT DVD... But I always think in Batman and Robin when I start listening this song.

For the RECORD this song was well known before watchmen especially amongst real pumpkins fans. There was a cd of the original single " the end is the beginning is the end:" which included an alternate " The begginins is the end is the beginning" track as well as other remixes. They also performed it on mtv at the music video award show in 97-98 cant remember the exact year. The original smashing pumpkin line up (true smashing pumpkins in my opinion) version is way better.

He didn't re-record it for the Watchmen. This was recorded along with The End is the End is the Beginning in 1997. Both songs were on the Batman & Robin soundtrack, and the TEITBITE single.

Since I can't post links in comments, here's what you need to do. Search for spfc on Google (or wherever), you should find an SP site. Once there, go to "songlist" and find The Beginning is the End is the Beginning. There you will find info on every time the song has been recorded in the studio, and every release it's been on. I thought this was common knowledge but I guess I was wrong. Please tell your source that they were wrong, I have no idea where they got such bad info.

Hm, I'm assuming this song was released with the trailer? If not then it must have been pretty fucking elusive.

But I doubt your source, look at the section below the info, "Availability", it does say 1997, but did you not notice that "Availability" has listed TEITBITE and not TBITEITB? (Using acronyms is particularly confuzzling but you can figure it out.)

A. It seemed to be completely unknown before the Watchmen trailer.

B. Your source has some flaws.

Completely unknown before the Watchmen trailer, are you kidding? I (and many others) bought the Batman & Robin soundtrack in 1997 and it had (and still has) both songs on it. Oh, and the TEITBITE under "availability" is the listing for the single, which had TBITEITB as a b-side, click it and see. I know you yourself probably hadn't heard of it before the Watchmen trailer, because it wasn't a huge song before, so I can't blame you for that, but I assure you, the song has been around for 12 years.
