I think Andrew Sachs, RB and JR are extremely clever and gifted entertainers. Events can go too far/silly sometimes and people have to take responsibility for their actions as they have done in this case. Andrew's response above is admirable and to be applauded. I enjoyed the RB show and also found this particular incident comedic and I don't believe RB should have been sacked. However, I'm proud that we as a public domain, have a voice in complaining as media would be a lot more one-sided.
