frost dps not about rotation but priority. obliterate > frost strike. only use howling blast on a rime and only use frost strike on a killing machine or if you're near full runic power. also only need 8.02%(263 hit rating) anything over that is just a bonus. i have 300 on my frost spec with no hit gems. i have about 5900gs t10(264) 2 set bonus but only using 251 weps, i do 9-12k dps on LK

@RefinedEUWoW It's actually kinda fun for me to watch videos I made in the past. This one is around 4 months ago. There was no Hellscream buff, no heroic gear, and this was before the buffs that 3.3.3 gave us with extra offhand damage and better offhand strike damage, and 4% to strength. In my latest one showing how to do hard mode deathbringer, my obliterate crits at the end are nearly 30k, here it's under 20k lol. Glad you took the date into account though, most don't, it's annoying.

@rage17915 I'm at roundabout the same stage myself, though our deathbringer HM tries don't often last long enough to get a stable rotation going yet ;) I'm still playing DW frost though, crits are ranging between 20-25k with obliterate fully raid buffed etc. I must say though with this % buff everything is seriously easy mode even if easy mode has a large sign over it saying "lolz hard and stoof".

@rage17915 lol with dks gear its fairly easy on my dk i have over 600 hit rating and im not gemmed or anything not including any hit % i get from my talents and i only have the maces from H HoR and i still pull 6k dps... and i very rarley miss... so its well worth it

@j49erfever 600 hit rating, i lol'd. 600 hit rating is just waaaaaay overkill. Cut down about 200 hit rating if not more and get yourself some crit/arp/other stuff you might need. And indeed, 6k dps is uber low, specially in a hc dungeon where most "trash" is aoe fights ;) (HoR hc). Got a frost dk alt myself, 310(+ hit raid buffs of course) hit rating and doing way over 11-12k dps on saurfang 25. 600 hit rating...... geeeez xD

Second, 6k dps in raids is really low now. This video is about 4 months old... aka before hellscream's buff and without even much ICC gear, and 0 heroic pieces.

That is my newest dual wield video, it's over 12k dps at the end of the fight, purely single target (hard mode Saurfang), and that's using a chillblains spec + saving blood runes for pestilence... Trying to make 24% hit is bad.

@rage17915 I love the 25% damage bonus, my 4.9k GS frost death knight pulls off 8.4k dps on saurfang in 25 mans with two 232 weapons xD

@augthail No. In fact Frost DW needs less hit to have your melee specials land than any other spec because of Nerves of Cold Steel.

It's not worth stacking hit above the cap of 8% combined talents/gear.

He spits a lot more than once every 45 seconds.

As I said there are plenty of opportunities on this fight to use AMS to soak up some extra RP, but as a general rule you should always be going behind him for the spit.

i just changed my spec to frost and started to tank/dps in heroics to get to 80 where i will be frost dps, and im loving the buffs to frost, copyed my retail dk lvl 70 and dps increased with like 300-400 dps.... on dummys tho, but still loving it without the buffs =)

@cj41090 first of all you need to spec frost unholy, frost as your main, rest of your talent points on unholy. Blood was wayyy decreased over patch 3.2 and 3.3. When speccing frost make sure you have 2 1handers that do good dmg. Hartayke has vids showing his rotation which is very helpful.
