If SNSD had to dance like this, it would be difficult to sing at the same time. Rino's version is more focused on dancing, SNSD's version is more focused on singing and the dancing is simplified. Both Rino and SNSD are great in their own way as far as dancing and I think it's awesome that Rino choreographs for SNSD and even cooler that her last name, Nakasone, happes to have SONE in it haha. :D

Personally, I think this is the one song that the idols did better than Rino. Rino's style of dancing is more aggressive and energetic but Genie is a seductive song so doing it slower and smoother suits it better. Plus Rino is so skinny!!! D8
I personally find that SNSD's version fits the song better; Rino, though a better dancer, has a more aggressive, bad ass and hip-hop style, while SNSD and their songs aren't meant to project such an image. They're more of a smooth, seductive, "feminine" type.
@dbsq13 i'm not the person in the video :] her name is Rino Nakasone, and she invents the dance, then gives (or sells idk lol) it to SM Entertainment so they can use it for their artists. Basically, she choreographed this so someone else (Kpop people) can use it.
but snsd made the moves presentable and more feminine.
plus, rino is only one person. SNSD had to choreograph the rest of the dance where members were singing, the transitions and movements across the stage, the different positions of all NINE members.. etc. and they have to sing, too ^^
Guys SNSD didn't even learn this from Rino herself, they learnt it off a video Rino sent to them and with some help from another choreographer, plus, Rino has this personality she puts into her dance which is why there is probably no one else who can dance like her. Please don't put SNSD down. ~_~

However, I may be a little biased, but whenever SNSD danced to this song, my eyes immediately went to Sooyoung, she always looks to be the one performing with the most energy, really hitting it hard, and actually put a bit of style into it.

@hominyshoe You have to take this into consideration: Rino is a woman full of raw talent, dedicated to her craft, she is an artist. The SNSD girls are pretty girl who were put together in a group, solely because they were pretty. None of them can sing or dance (except Hyoyeon). So of course the way Rino dances and they way the SNSD puppets dance will be VERY different.

She has more training & is more professional & have been dancing for a long time so she has more techniques that make the dance have different feel. Everyone makes the dance look different. usually i enjoy watching the choreographers do the dance cuz since they made they look better doing it, but i think i like snsd do it more than the actual choreographer. she's good though i like her energy and exact movements. Lisette was amazing at RDR. i mean i want to dance like that girl.

But.. anyways, SNSD isn't a dance group. They're a singing, acting, entertainment group.. and I think they did an amazing job transitioning 9 people with only 2-3 practices all together. don't you?

@khrazy898 Yea, the person dancing is called Rino Nakasone, the Choreographer for Korean bands like SNSD, SHINEE, Super Junior. She is now part of the PUSSYCAT DOLLS Band.

@Sarah2012Lynn Rino is part of the PUSSYCAT DOLLS in USA. But some sources said she left. Tht cant be confirmed as rino is part of the new dance lineup and they have not performed live yet. hmmm.

as much as i love snsd, they kind of messed the choreography. rino made the original dance so elegant.

I don't think they "messed it up", given the fact that during the LIVE choreography they had to wear high heels, had to sing and keep their appearances a bit clean XD
I'd rather think of "they took back the choreo a little" to be able to perform as smoothly as possible. Singing and dancing at the same time is a very very difficult thing.
Though I have to agree, this Rino is a very elegant dancer, but her moves here are also a little more hiphop-ish.. I love this song and dance <3

@hominyshoe It can be the shoes, coz how she moves I think that sneakers would fit this song more than high heels, but that's just my opinion & not a big fan of SNSD, but still the song is good

@hominyshoe You have to take this into consideration: Rino is a woman full of raw talent, dedicated to her craft, she is an artist. The SNSD girls are pretty girl who were put together in a group, solely because they were pretty. None of them can sing or dance (except Hyoyeon). So of course the way Rino dances and they way the SNSD puppets dance will be VERY different.

@hominyshoe They sing from the nose, with no real power. Often live they are very bad. I conceed Taeyeon is the best of them, but thats not saying much.

@ParkLeeNa they were trained to sing...they can sing..but not all of them are good singers and just have good looks ......sometimes.. there are artists who got in because they look good and has a little talent.and the agency just train them to develop more talent so that they can be great entertainers....im not talking about snsd...some other artists..dont say that they can't sing or dance....:D

@hominyshoe Of course they have to make changes in the dance. Everyone is different & especially because Rino is much better dancer (I love SNSD but Rino of course have to be better). She has more training & is more professional & have been dancing for a long time so she has more techniques that make the dance have different feel. Everyone makes the dance look different. Don't blame everything on SNSD.

usually i enjoy watching the choreographers do the dance cuz since they made they look better doing it, but i think i like snsd do it more than the actual choreographer. she's good though i like her energy and exact movements. Lisette was amazing at RDR. i mean i want to dance like that girl.

@tdotmiss Well, you can't really blame SNSD for not hitting the moves as hard as Rino. They had to make it more gentle since they're singing while dancing. But yeah, rino really rocks the choreography :P

@tdotmiss well, rino IS a professional dancer who's been focusing on dance since she was little :-)
SNSD has some great dancers, some above average dancers, but only one or two dancers who SPECIFICALLY trained in dance. And even then, we know Rino is awesome :-)
But.. anyways, SNSD isn't a dance group. They're a singing, acting, entertainment group.. and I think they did an amazing job transitioning 9 people with only 2-3 practices all together. don't you?
