  • @RandomConcepts

If we don't hurry our asses there won't be beatiful spots and nature with souls so i'd advice you should shut the fuck up and demotivate the people here.

  • I work in the industry, in the past turbines haven't been as effective as they could have been and yes in the past some of them were noisey. NOT ANYMORE These days the turbines are sleek, efficient and can generate a staggering amount of electricity. The fluctuations in power with varying wind speeds are cancelled by smart grid control and people won't have flickering lights or anything similar. As for the alternatives? Solar is too expensive, fossil fuels run out and nuclear has toxic waste.

  • @Detsawm Especially the latest Maglev and Helical turbines in development, proper quiet. A Fuckupshima or Chernobyl disaster will never happen with turbines.

  • they are the most horrendous eyesore to our beautiful countryside.... they are not producing enough energy.....

  • 4:23 If you support wind power (like me) you should be very afraid. THEY'VE GOT WOGAN!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!

I didn't realise his expertise extended from the Eurovision Song Contest to Climate Change/Energy.

  • Wind turbines are more sexy than a power station

  • Would you rather have a coal powered plant in your backyard that emits thousands of tons of mercury, arsenic and carbon dioxide into the air every year?

  • It really makes me laugh whenever I hear that "environmentalists want us to return to a pre-industrial age".

It these NIMBY/BANANA folk who are actually taking us there!

  • We now have 30 years' experience of large-scale wind - it has been a hugely expensive failure in every case.

Check out the figures in Denmark, Germany California etc. etc.

Texas is now going the same way. T Boone Pickens admits they are ugly and won't have them on his land, but is going to carpet the state with tens of thousands of the things funded by the tax dollars of the gullible masses.

Modern nuclear energy production is perfectly safe, as is the disposal of spent fuel rods. Just ask UK, Canada, France, Scandinavia, USA.. We need a guaranteed 24/7 supply otherwise hospital patients die, banking systems collapse... fill in the rest.

Because of their intermittency, wind farms need to steal spare capacity that should be used in backup situations: system failures, terrorist attacks, etc. Go get some facts and figures rather than try to be clever will you? Thanks.

  • Not to anyone's backyard! No to wind s...t anywhere! Pull the ugly inefficient monsters off and recycle the metal!

  • Yes "not in my back yard" is exactly right. It is pure selfishness to consume electricity with no thought to those who have to live with the consequences. So you have a few wind turbines nearby, well aren't you the lucky ones. Fancy moving to Sellafield now do we??

  • Lets just turn off the lights on these "not in my back yard" people. I live next to 9 turbines, they are graceful and quiet, i love them.

  • Notice how many old people there are..they will be dead when we run out of fossil fuels and YES we will run out!!

When will people believe it, when the electric goes off???

  • i just disconnect them from the main power grid so there can do good for there nature ,then there dont need wind power ...simple

  • They don't want to get "free energy" from wind farms and everybody to buy candles?I'm trying to save money on power, not spend it on candles!

  • I want power but I dont want to have to give up anything for it!!!!

  • Damn you anti-environmentalists. Go back to the 19th century

  • stick up for your area! i know how it feels
