  • what a good fuckin band all cylinders firing, its a shame cant even get there cd

  • Love it! He plays Ace Frehleys solo from Alive 1 HA!!!

  • @ddrmiam1 It was a shoulder shot, if Jake was really pissed I think he would have threw a real punch.

  • These guys were the definition of High Energy Rock. I liked the camera pan shot of the crowd, pretty cool.

  • Jake E Lee=guitar god

  • God i love Jake's hair...

  • Looks like Jake took shot @ Ray. It hardly looked friendly

  • @ddrmiam1 looks like he kinda laughed so it might have been friendly

  • This guys's vocals, purely god like. Miss him bunches. RIP brother

  • great video ,nice work and great band

  • I miss the Club Manhattan days with Ray and the band..man the crazyass shit we all did back then!

  • Arrepiante.

  • What a band....great song....Jake sounds great and so does Ray Gillan....rip bro...I miss you so much....your voice was amazing....

  • Was this the time the two hated each other? I mean they weren't exactly friends at the end of the road of Badlands...

  • Woooow, what a fuckin' great song!!! They were genious band live.

  • Ray was great.. sounded pretty similar to David Coverdale! Gotta love Jake too, he was one of the better guitar players of the era, and very underrated.

  • They were crazy! Loved thier first album....what are they doing now? Besudes Ray, I mean...somebody clue me in please!

  • Sound great! pity that the band broke up

  • Jakes hair is utter magnificence.

He proves the theory that hair is related to guitar talent ;)

  • I saw Badlands at the end of '89 in Hollywood at The Palace.

Jake's awesomeness of hair is directly proportional to his kick ass factor on guitar.

  • fantastic display of metal. check channell zero

  • I was at this show. Tangier, Badlands and Cinderella. Badlands owned this night for sure. Jake was a Monster.

  • Please don't compare Mars to Jake E. holy crap.

That's the most hair I've ever seen on Jake.

  • Awesome!

Vintage 89. Great time to been on stage or in the crowd.

  • linkin park and amazing guitarist? not in the same sentence!!!!LOL!!

  • their best tune. amazing footage. chaisson is just killing that bass.

  • long live ray and jake yuo,re the best hard rock band ever for the short time

  • Jake was the fuckin bomb

  • Mars and slash could not hold this guys jockstrap.lol suihhead.

  • @nickcruz455 come on man. don't knock down Mars.

  • @nickcruz455 - and you were born when....89? Ever heard of apples n' oranges, or just pablum? No compromise, no comparison. Why not pull Roth/Halen, Beck/Stewart or Page/Plant into this and make a truly educational experience? Fuck, you bore me....

  • chew it pretty boy.!

  • @nickcruz455 - Yep, pegged ya gump.

  • @meethead all those bands suck you mentioned pretty boy.

  • @nickcruz455 - wow, I was way off when I said 89'; you haven't even grown fuzz yet...it's ok junior, you'll grow out it eventually. But hey, if you need practice, keep the insults coming, but think on them a bit more, your baby teeth are a little dull, like you.

  • @meethead Born in 71 if you must know. But hey why do you care how old I am creepo?Or anything about me lol,I don't care if your 5 or 95.

  • @nickcruz455 - damn, you are lame; pretty boy? creepo? Hahaha...it's a stretch, but lift your knuckles when you walk amigo, you may not be - in this case 'sadly' - showing your age, but definitely screaming your IQ.

BTW, love how your post shit-kicked the bands I had thrown up - I left an open door for you to make a come back there, can you dig it? - and yet you appear to like Albert Lee, so you have some general music appreciation, even though you clearly lack basic language skills \m/;)\m/

  • @meethead chew it pretty boy.

  • @nickcruz455 grow one ya pussy.

  • Comment removed

  • @meethead Your a funny clown too me,because you make me laugh.Prettyboy.

  • @nickcruz455 - wow, we do have something in common (btw, it's 'to' funboy)

  • @meetYour funny funboy, but your still pretty goofy for getting back to me,"PrettyBoy"get Your hairspray will do more damage then you lol.

  • @nickcruz455 - I'm gonna miss you nick, you're right, I must be goofy/clowny/pretty/chewy for getting back to you...must be the hairspray from 23 years ago...everyone should have a sidekick like you to play with... Love PrettyGoofyClownyChewyBoy oxox

    P.S. Happy New Year.

  • I cant believe you retards cross block the only song that Jake might be famous for

  • Jake E Lee and Ray Guillen were awesome!!! Thanks so much for posting this! I saw these guys 7 times when they were together. Ray was and still is 1 of my fav singers ever. So much range, power, and most of all...soul! RIP

  • watching this gives me chills, so kick ass.....

  • Awesome \m/

  • its very a dangerous magic guitarist, God of Blues, metal, rock, everything about guitar playing, best player guitars, Jake e Lee is a Legend for guitars Players

  • gotta love BADLANDS!!

Eric Singer now in KISS on da' drums!

  • Dusk is also a good album. very rare and never released.

  • this is just amazing.......its leaving me speachless....im 16 by the way and im trying to bring this stuff back...the music now-a-days SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If they had been around in 83' they would have been huge, missed the boat in 89'. Have the first album, love this song, very very Zeplike.

  • I hear Zeppelin

  • This band was STUNNING. Simple as that.

And Jake was/is one BAD mofo. And a nice guy, too, with a cool sense of humor, totally humble and friendly. He stops by the store I work at every once in a while, and he's a good dude. Go, Jakey!

  • This song kicks ass, everyone is giving Jake and the singer credit, the bass and the drums are kickin too, the bassist is actually spazzing if you watch it. These guys are having fun, it's awesome.

  • Unbelieveable.....Badlands rocked! Jake's playing combined with the amazing vocals of Ray Gillan - that's the makings of a classic band. Kinda like a '90's Page and Plant. What more can be said? R.I.P. Ray. Jake, come back!!

  • Holly Fuck!!! This VIDEO ROCKS! I wish I was there! God bless those days!!!

  • God bless you Jake/////////

  • Jake is God.

  • Now check out Jake with Ozzy in Solid Gold in 1984...and if you can see the outro when they were reintroduced on the show...i have to admit..they made a huge impact...but what the heck was it?...i think he was the first to wear a bandana on an arm or leg(or wait was that Ritchie Blackmore?..or Prince?)

  • @666Goddammit666 Jimi Hendrix

  • Well....i like the song...but after listenng to like 5 hours of other guitarists i cant really say i see anything unusual....Now i remember back in the day we raced home with the latest"Guitar for the Practicing Musician", or whatever the hell the name was..to scramble to find what was so outstanding about the Laytest "Jake E. Lee sound...and all i got was a 11 stage photo of buzz noises you can make...so can somebody plz relate to me what is beyond mimicry in this stuff?( Pinch Harmonics?)

  • It's all preference, some people could find the guitarist from linkin park the most amazing guitarist. That is not at all the case, but to some, he's the best. Jake may be a product of his time, but hearing other guitarists of this time, Jake sounds a lot more there, his guitar fuller than most and has a signature racy sound. You can tell he loves it, plus his solo's are really jazzy, bluesy and speedy, a lot of metal guitarist didn't have that sound. These small details make him unique.

  • @LegendaryGerous Actually he sounds alot like Mick Mars and Slash combined

  • Bakersfield????...What, is he playing in the middle of a tomato farm???

  • Amazing!

  • Ray Gillen was AMAZING...Jake rips as usual.

  • thanx 4 posting this btw. It's fantastic

  • Badlands is the best thing JEL ever did. It's a shame these guys could only do two albums. JEL is the most underrated rock guitarist ever

  • They were a great band. Jake was great. and was incredibly underrated.

  • It's Eric on drums. Jeff only used one bass drum when he played.

  • I liked him better in Ozzy but his wanna be Whitesnake band was ok to, better then Wicked Alliance lol.

  • Dear god, what a tone-deaf TOOL you are.

  • Jake is KILLER. Love that Ace Frehley solo in the beginning. RAY GILLEN IS FUCKIN' AWESOME!!

  • nice bit of a ace frehley solo at the start

  • Spectacular live "High Wire" footage of BADLANDS Ray-lovely high power vocal range/beautiful voice, Jake-total Rebel electric on lead guitar, Greg-tough & heavy on the bass guitar rythym and Jeff-solid groove on the drums. Excellent high energy performance all the way! Right on BADLANDS.

  • Zep meets Whitesnake? hey, I still dug this shit out of their first 2 LPS. Coming from Ozzy, and the by then bloated 80's, Jake did this with AUTHORITY--great tunes and completely ass-kicking vibe. I remember in 1978 in South Hackensack , NJ in the basement of my cousin's friends(two brothers who played guitar 'n drums), and a 16 year old RAY GILLEN was singing, the whole band doing "Miss America" by Styx, sounding killer and RAY was wailing effortlessly then. Yes, thanks for the VID!!

  • can u call me or give me your phone number. i want to ask u a few questions about Ray. I studied voice with his voice teacher Robert Fitzgerald but never met Ray. All these awesome people who post vids on here help me piece together what I never had in meeting or seeing him sing live. Please call or give me your number. Eric 215-626-3220

  • Hung out with Ray in some dumpy rehearsal studios in North Bergen at a time when Soap Factory was the place to hang.

Really great guy with an amazing gift.

    . . . great video thanks

  • Wow!

  • Wow!

  • seriously dude, what you do with one camera is awesome. badlands. ray, jake, greg and jeff.

  • It trips me out that Jeff Martin (the singer for Racer X) is the drummer here and on the second album. It's crazy to be a lead vocalist and then good enough on drums to get this gig while Racer X wasn't doing anything.

  • the drummer on this video is Eric Singer. The original Badlands drummer and current KISS drummer.

  • Eric Singer was in the band a very short time, joining Kiss right after Eric Carr died. It's hard to tell who the drummer in this vid is but Martin joined and toured with them in '89 and was the drummer on the next two albums.

  • It's obvious that Eric was playing drums in this footage. His style is very identifiable.

  • Jeff Martin was a drummer before he was a singer. He and Greg Chaisson played in a band called St. Michael in Phoenix where Jeff was the drummer & lead vocalist. That's why Jeff got the gig with Badlands - he and Greg already had that connection.

  • I miss these guys! They are not easy to find in music stores! I figured I could find them here! Glad I thought to look!

  • Fantastic performance. Ray was a god as was Jake E. Lee i saw Badlands 4 times and they knew how to put on a great kick ass live show. R.I.P. Ray you are missed :(

  • Wow 20 years ago!! Damn I'm getting old. :-(

    Still love it though!!!

  • Jake... we know you only took a break... when are you coming back...

  • jake e lees 'Black smiths'' forearms are in no proportion to his femenine look

  • Ray....wow first live thing ive seen of him. Unreal live performance... great soul and stage presence...

  • Nice little Kiss-take in the solo at the beginning there, Jake :)

Great song, good quality boot here. R.I.P. Ray Gillen :(

  • thanks for sharing thia amazing four ring circus of hard rock history! BADLANDS RULES!

  • EXCELENTE!!

  • ray,reminds of coverdale and plant,what a great mix...

  • Ray- you did it. All things considered, you left a huge impression on the music world in such a short time. Who can argue that you were not among the best rock singers have offered ever!

  • @rickinick abso fuckin lutley r.ip. ray all the best always die young thankfully i was blessed enough to see these guys live!fan fucking tastic show and they were just the openers and they killed it! and jake e lee is one of the most underated guitarists in that era !and eric singer!! can't say enough about that guy long live badlands!!

  • jake :) my god

  • This is an amazing song and an amazing record. The bluesy rock riffs complement Ray's soulful, colorful singing perfectly. Chiasson and Singer formed a rock solid rhythm section.

Killer. It's a shame this CD is not available to buy anymore unless you buy it used for $30-$40 off ebay.

One other note: this video is shot really well two for one camera. I wish more DVDs were like this. Just simple, one-camera shots, don't need all the fancing cutting and editing that ruins many new concert DVDs.

  • I remember Badlands kinda- but I did not have any idea how much he sounds like Coverdale! Damn what a voice! And Jake-- what more can u say! One of the Greatest ever!!

  • Ray was awesome...and Badlands was fantastic live! I miss Ray Gillen...what a loss.

  • i'd like to hear RAY sing "OVER THE HILLS AND FAR AWAY" and "HOUSES OF THE HOLY".RAY man, what a voice, what a talent, what a waste.

    "yesterday's gone dreams carry on..."

  • ray and jake is to robert and jimmy.hey does anyone remember the COVERDALE/PAGE cd? that cd rocked.i still got it.i don't care much about criticism but i'm glad they(page and coverdale) put it out in 93.here comes the main event:I'D PREFER RAY OVER COVERDALE.WHO WANTS TO ARGUE?

  • Damn, I miss Ray!!

Actually I miss Jake too! Come back Jake, what's your excuse?

    Tc

  • Killer one camera vid. Badlands was such an amazing band. Two fricking albums goddamnit! This was my song man. It would never fail to pump me up. The energy, vocals, groove, guitar, props to drums and bass too.

Two talented frontmen doing their thing.

    High WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEE

  • thank you, thank you.... God, I miss 1989....Jake, Ray, and Badlands self titled.

  • Talk about reaching your career peak.Jake and Ray reached it with Badlands, absolutely incredible together. Two masters at their craft. Thanks for the video!

  • Gotta love Jake!!!

  • Jakes a machine!

  • I love you Jakey Baby.

  • What is jake doing now ?

  • Great Footage..

    Ray(Rip) Was/is Phenomenal!

Hope Jake Gets some New Stuff out soon...Retraced was SO Long ago!

  • GREAT undiscovered footage, thanks for sharing i wonder how much more footage exists? GREAT band Ray had a great voice and Jake E Lee was a monster on guitar (hes actually better here than when he was with Ozzy IMO) the 4 of em just made wonderfull music from 1989 till 1993 (Ray died) This is REAL music, not slagging all of todays music (most is crap) but this is how music sounds. Blues influenced heavy rock + roll, long live real music!
