  • great video!! but i am soo against this sport..

  • why?

  • God - it's not as though you making money out of this - in fact it's more benifical to the music makers - as in hearing the songs

  • oh i understand

  • what happened when it said do not watch

  • The man died in the fall in that clip, and i just thought it was very rude of me to put it in there so i took it down.

  • "DO NOT WATCH THIS PART

    DO NOT WATCH

    DO NOT WATCH"

XD that made me lol a bit, I was sitting there thinking 'Well I can't really see it anyways'

  • lol i made so many so they would overlap and no one could see it lol

  • I LOVE EVENTING (: XC Is Deffo Mii Fave Tho, Ive Onlii Ever Had 1 Bad Fall In XC, But All The Others Were Little (:

    Good Video Tho x

  • Why did you have change the Music to this Vid. I Thought it ROCK'D the other way. I watch it now, and I like fall asleep. $>_>$

  • im sorry you feel that way but its not my fault my music was copyrighted

  • That happens... What I'm wondering is why you replaced such Fun Upbeat music with the now ... oh how would one say this... Tame tunes. Now don't get me wrong I love the vid. $^_^$ You got some awsome footage in there. Its just with the new tunes... It's well dull to watch now. $>_>$

  • well then how about you find a piece of music that covers the whole video and actually sounds good. okay?

  • i event 2 =) but idk about doing i dont like 2 jump alot but this made me think alot more but how ever it is ALOT of fun =)

  • I would rather watchin it than the annotations being there as its just annoyin.

  • oh noes :( im wishing i never watched that part that said DO NOT WATCH. right on his head :(

  • ya people are like "its not a sport" 1. why is it in the olympics? 2.hauling a 3000pound animal is not a sport?wtf people eh?

  • i wanna watch but how do u turn the annotions off

  • i really enjoyed this one!

    good job:)

  • omg theses falls look nasty and they say hurdle and steple racing are dangerous....... theres worse falls in this clip alone than there is in that.

  • i like this music

  • I do eventing....and I train troubled horses...I have been thorugh my fair share of falls and accidents!! its not an easy sport thats for sure

  • Those jumps seem rather solid, what kind of equipment do you have to protect the horse's legs? Do you have to get your horse's legs x-rayed alot? If so how often? Nice video.

  • Hi Szheherazad: for eventing they put the horses leg protection in a very high priority. they put boots (front and back) and bell boots on. then they put studs in their shoes for traction. they also use what is called "cross country grease" (the white on their legs) that makes it so if they hit fences, they slide more over it then hurting themselves. their legs are check frequently as well yes.

  • it said dont wach its youtube i want to wach

  • i did that because it was a clip of a man dying /: and i really hate that i put it in there.. :( if you still want to view it, just turn the annotations off

  • how can i do that? i mean to turn the annotations off

  • notice how everyone is riding ENGLISH

  • good job!! do you want a cookie??

  • Not too many western three-day events out there.

  • LMAO. Duh, do you know what eventing is??

  • Me?

  • seriously..

some of the pple that say riding a horse is easy and that it's just a girly sport !!

i'd lyk to c u get ur ass up on one of those horses and go over those jumps !!

    and NOT fall !!

  • 1.11. Is thee fricken horse allriqht. Omq!! x

  • well that' one of the best riding fall compilations i've seen! and as a horse owner, i can also see that most, no, all the falls were due to the rider....

    nice work!!

  • I love riding, i love jumping, but id never risk injuring my horse on one of these trials. Thry shouldnt fix the bloody fences!

  • i event too

  • ohhh pooo headed youtube lol at least you reposted it! but the plastic man??? lol

  • Im glad you block that part =) thats nice of you, so we could chose self :D

  • tusen takk!! :D hehe

  • why did you change the song :(

  • i didnt on purpose. they copyrighted my music

  • I would like to see an eventer stay on a bull for 8 seconds... Yeah, would neva happen... At least not ever 5th horse breaks its leg in rodeo unlike eventing...

  • well id like to see a bull rider ride on a xc course over 4ft+ solid obstacles...oh wait that will never happen...and atleast the horses in eventing are never sent to slaughter. and idk if you've noticed, but if bull riding was a real sport, it'd be in the olympics..like eventing.

  • I agree... I also wanna c somma my friends on a xc or showjumping course, it'd b funny cause any1 who badmouths horseback, yet has never done it should get up there with us and try it for themselves... then maybe they will show a little more respect

  • A like eventing but this just show hows dangerous it, ubt no one bad mouths eventing unlike rodeos, horses die LESS then eventing horses (well mainly cross country) but still no one gets upset with cross country WTF

  • it's because a lot of people are interested in eventing and yes people talk bad about it. people dont like rodeos because it requires no riding skill at all. it's just to see who can stay on the longest on a bucking horse who would be on its way to slaughter after the rodeo

  • Actually riding broncs and bulls takes a lot of skill and training, not to mention a lot more balls then eventing. The horses are well looked after. They are fed constantly, vet checked and what ever a horse would need. They are actually look after better then a lot of pleasure or working horses...

  • right...i tend not to beleive that. sorry!

  • Why do they have an strap aound their flanks then?? Riding "rodeo"horses are shit man

  • Why did you right don't watch 0:42 till 0:47 ??? i love this vid but i why does it have to be blocked?? please put it back to normal. Cause i showed this vid to my friends and that was wen it was blocked and were sad cause this vid is soo interesting . PLEASE :(

  • if u wanna see it, click the button to the lower right of the screen

  • waitwho died the horse or rider

  • The rider, the horse landed on his/her head :S

  • Is there a reason that at 0:51-0:57 there is a blocked part, twice over? I mean if it is scary some okay but let other people decide for themselves because I wanted to see it. That also makes people more intrigued to see what's behind the blockage.

Other than that great job on the video.

  • It's b/c the mane died /:

  • Thank you.

  • yeah, i want to see what happened. the block is annoying, but the rest of the vid is great

  • Really good video, shows what is the "otherside" of eventing is. I showjump myself, but after wathing this video I think I'll stick to it for sure:)

  • Thanks for the vid. I've ridden in the h/j/eq for almost forty years and still haven't figured out why you'd want to do eventing at this level. ;-)

  • they obviously care about their horses. im an eventer and i care a great amount for my horses.Horses always fall and stumble. Its hust like saying if you stumbled while walking you wouldnt keep goin.. We have to stop if our horses are injured but if they are ok we always keep going..

  • damn those are some scary falls. I have my fair share of bad falls...shows how hard this sport is. but all the broken bones and bruises are so worth it!!! horses are amazing. :)

  • I read back in the comments and u say the man died in the clip u blocked, who was it?

  • i dont know his name sorry. i beleive he was korrean though

  • u rewind it bi sayin dont watch this part i loved it but now it is cow crap

  • what do u mean i rewind it??

  • is there any way I could get a copy of this video

  • 4 wat reasons?

  • this is awesome it show that all sports have there ups and downs this is just the down to this sport but it is great to watch and the horses love it are all the horses ok i mean the ones that looked like the broke their leg

  • awsome video. some of those falls were pretty intense. were all of the riders okay?

  • i know one rider broke his pelvis but he is fine now and back to competing..i dont think any of the other riders were hurt (thankfully) :)

  • the part where u said dont watch was annoyin take it out or show the clip

  • um its my video ill do whatever i want. dont like then dont watch it. woah isnt that amazing?!

  • I was consudering on doing cross country. But after these vids,im alittle scared xD

  • this is just a video of the worst that could happen. at lower levels these kind of things dont happen. as long as u hav a good trainer and ride well, this probably wont happen! :)

  • oh and where did you get the clips?

  • youtube

  • THIS IS AMAZING!!!! I LOVE IT!!! BEST VID ON YOUTUBE!!! why did you block that part though?

  • the man died. it was rude to show it

  • why is one bit blocked? is it boring? or to they get hurt or wat? xx

  • the man sadly died.

  • Why did u block that one part??

  • b/c the guy in that clip died and i didnt want it up anymore..it was rude.

  • But it is okay to show the horses who died. That's not disrespectful at all.

  • no horses died..

  • I hope more people get hurt or killed. Sorry, it sounds harsh, but it's the only way people will learn that this "sport" is brutal and barbaric toward a gentle creature who never asked to be involved in such brutality.

Yah, these are "freak" accidents, but they are brought on by humans.

Ooh....can't wait for the backlash from all you eventers!! ;-)

  • thats disgusting that you just said "i hope more people get hurt or killed". it truly is just disgustingly wrong

  • dont change the music it is a classic and really suits the video

  • to ALL horses - BRAVO!!!:)

  • Oh my goodness... 0:50... the horse landed on his head...

I just hope that man really loved eventing so that he died doing what he loved...

  • EVENTING IS WHAT I DO TOO!!!!

  • by 6.31 the rider looks kinda funny teehee

  • Eeeek! 6.25 :s

I hope they were both okay

    x

  • Love the vid- what music is it?

  • its in the description

  • did the horse at :50 die?? :(((((((((

  • nope.

  • No the guy did

  • this video is good, it shows the truth about riding and how hard it is. I event, and yes, its quite dangerous, but if you think of the thousands and thousands of people that ride every single day, and only seven of them have died from eventing, then truthfully i dont think thats a terrible figure, i mean come on, crap happens and it probably was no ones fault. I love eventing so much, and i reckon my horse would KILL ME if we ever stopped, shes me in horse form ahah

  • when i watch this i dont realy care as much about the rider its the horse that gets it worse

  • acctually, the rider gets it worst

I fell of 4 years ago, on a courses and my right knee popped out it's socket and did a 360 then popped back in. oh yeah my horse fell on top of me then stepped on me getting back up. The horse was fine of course

  • love it

  • nice video

  • ouch. x.x

yeah, i event with my QH Appendix, and I've had some nasty falls.

People just dont seem to understand how dangerous it is. xD

    Great vid!

  • ohhmyygood! scary. i looove cross country though :)

  • I keep watching this to remind myself I'm too old to start doing this stuff. My glory days were in my 20s.. my 40s are not a time to start again. I must be having a mid-life crisis or something.

  • my grandfather used to go to all my competition, he loved it, he got on a horse for the first time in his life at 65, and now he jumps and everything, he doesnt do cross country, but he does jump on a closed square( idont know the name in english) its never too late to start!!

  • Going cross country tomrrow cant wait!

  • oh gosh! i dont know why i watch these!! ooo! its so sad!

  • OMG we're the horses ok

  • the one at 0:50 makes my stomach turn, rotational falls are the deadliest.

  • Yeah, it really does.

I used to do a lot of cross-country jumping. Not competitional, but the stables nearby had this HUGE cross-country with something like sixty jumps, and I'd use it a lot. But then I started falling :S And this sport really is extremely dangerous! In Norway horseback riding counts as one of the sports with the most deaths per year.

But the first fall -- RESPECT at how the guy just gets up. :D

  • you don't have to be sorry for putting in that clip, it shows that serious things can happen and it doesn't always have a good ending

  • you are the nicest person that ever commented!

  • i totally agree with xXxSASKExXxnaruto you dont have to be sorry. its dangerous and people need to know that.

  • wow i don't mean this in an awful way but i love this video.

i cant believe that one guy died o_o

i showed my mom that and now she like freaks when i go xc

  • Oh my god.. This is really horrible.. (Schrijf je dat zo? :'))

  • i like the music it fits

  • Loool The dressagerider is riding with to much Hand :D :D :D :D he has to lern riding again :D

But the military rider are interesting. Because many of them are nice to the horse. They don´t hit or are bad.

  • I really like this video. It shows people just how hard competitive equine events are. Show just how much you have to risk. Thank you for the video it makes me account for quite a few bruises and broken bones >_O

  • owch!

  • this is mad funny i love wen i go to events wen people fall off unless of course some one is seriously hurt. "its all fun and games till some one gets hurt, then its a sport"

  • I hope none of these horses were injured.....

OMG! Poor horse at 3:48! But then again i feel sorry for them all.......

  • cross country is sooooo hard!!!

  • people are using this video to justify horse tripping. Using a rope, lassoing the legs, and the horse trips and falls on it's face and neck. I don't like it when horses get seriously injured. There is no justification for horse tripping, and the only justification for the falls from this video, is that they are accidents.. or the horse doesn't want to do it, or it just didn't go smoothly.

  • No horses were injured in this video.

  • This is eventing and has absolutely nothing to do with tripping and lassoing legs. Actually that's an entirely different style of equestrian activities. That's western where they lasso the legs and they rarely do that anymore because its considered cruelty. Even when they were using that method it was used in breaking and training and mostly in herding mustangs to slaughter where they had no regard for them.

  • I think its funny that so many of the horses just slow down and look around like "What? Where's my rider?" After they take a digger.

I love the song choices, btw.

  • i love this video, it shows what could happen, even if everything is going smothely!!

  • they have some horrible falls i like cover my eyes

  • that was an awesome video. and no one bash me for saying this but there were some riders who seemed a bit more interested in getting the horse over the jump and away then really paying attention to how the horse had to take it. not saying that they're bad riders at all, because every one of them is far from that. they're all amazing, but some falls could have been prevented. thanks for a great vid, blonde.

  • The man yes.

  • i love one of the horses name little mc muffin

  • i know it sounds mean but i always panic that the the horse is ok..... not the rider i feel so bad.

  • great vidio! keep up the good work. There ere some really nasty falls there especialy when the horses fall on the riders :/ Thats gotta leave a mark!! I love xc and have had a few bad falls, but not as bad as some of these. touch wood. :)

    love from Polly x

  • I feel sad for some of the horses and rider

  • i think the worst one was when the horse fell directly on top of the guy. thats over 1,000 lbs being dropped on top of a person, thats going to leave a mark

  • Well they tried but some of those horses are really tiny they might need to be trained a little more. But I like how most of the riders will still continue horse back riding.

  • crystalsnow28: Do you know anything about the horses? Have you riddent them? Do you know their age? Do you know their height?

Didn't think so. Stop acting like George Morris =D

  • i totally agree with u! i also hate it tho when ppl think hey kno everything about horses. i mean, kno one knows everythin bout a horse except for the horse. love the vid, keep it up! glad ur into horses too

  • 6.25 :O OMG!!! Some really nasty falls there!

  • wow that's some amazing footage! horse and riders have a lot of guts to do some of that! holy crap!!

  • Great job with the video and kudos to those that can ride cross country! I've tried it but don't have the guts! It's also nice seeing the couple dressage clips, I can relate to those goofs with showing saddlebreds!

The cross country course looked familiar, which Olympics? Barcelona?

  • eowentada: The 2000 Sydney Olympics (-:

  • Thanks!! Parts looked familiar but wasn't sure which it was.

  • i love xc! cnt get enuf of it lol. neva fallen off on a xc jump touch wood neva will :S:S lol. love the adrenalin rush!!!

  • auuch !!! :S

  • The refusals are pretty good. I love the one at 2:14 were the horse is like ummm where did you want me to go tard? haha

  • I loved those riders, they all seem really good and I know cross country is dangerous, I'd love to do it though... But nahh my pony would more likely get scared of all the things and it'd be horrible...

However, I love this video and totally feel sorry for the second rider wich died...

  • Most famous eventing horses are small.... like 15.2ish

  • this is the perfect vid for those people out there that hink horse riding is easy and competing a piece of cake - ill be showing this to my friend who says that to me all the time yet hasnt seen this. He will be badly msitaken :D and will cringe to see what we risk.

Great vid - and the saying "its wat i do' is so true - this is what makes riding worth it - the risk!

  • Wonderful vid! Thanks.

I love the refusals above all... the horses are like, "Are you F***ing kidding me?"

  • Those horses seems to be guite small...<3

  • They do look rather pony-ish

  • Which ones? There are over 20+ horses.

  • i would never have the guts to do cross country i'd be way to worried about my horse hurting himself so kudos to those that have the balls to do it

  • great vid.

do ya know its a fact that more accidents happen whilst out on a hack than there are doing x-country!!!!:)

  • No wonder the 1st qualification in an eventing horse is boldness(great heart/courage), 2nd has to be a great partnership/trust with it's rider. I admit I've seen and read of far more deaths and injures for the eventing riders than their horses, like Christopher Reeve. No wonder after seeing this video. Good job! And the solid fences seem far safer than breakaway ones, IMHO.After seeing this I'll go collect Breyer horses...far safer! LOL And, sometimes fence designers make mistakes, big ones.

  • hey great vid, vive le cross! i love it.

shame there isn't more dressage, who is the pair at 5:50? what a disaster! hah

i admire the rider at 7:05, clinging on like that, although the horse saved his ass, no doubt

and 7:20! jesus! i would kill to ride a horse with as big a heart, he smacked into the water and just kept on going, bravo!

i love cross country! need more be said?

much affection to all horsey people on youtube xx

  • Roberto macedo on...Not sure bout the horse lol

  • at 4:00 the guy goes over it one handed! have to be pretty brave to take on a huge fence like that one handed. but thats probs why it didnt work...

  • A lot of people go over fences one-handed in cross-country :-)

  • its sorta weird how the horses leap up and the riders just lie there.

  • it seems like the horses fall/refuse at the same jumps! they should try to make the course a little safer! whats the white pasty stuff on the horses legs? the logs r super dangerous! they're not breakaway or anything! those r sad! i hope the horses get extra grain after those!!!!!

  • It only shows the same jumps because that is all the filming I have and the people filmed at the same jumps. :-P The white pasty stuff is called cross-country grease. So when they hit a fence, they slide over it (not as hard on the horse) instead of getting stuck on the obstacle. And don't worry about if the horses get more grain, they are treated like kings and queens.

  • I'm so scared to do Xcountry.

  • OUCH! All of those falls seemed PAINFUL!

  • Kick ass video!

  • ouch.... omg ive never fallen like that

    lol

  • good vid nice efects

  • Horses wecover just well from most falls.. you wouldnt be 35 and riding for 30 years and walking around like a cripple (like myself - truly..TRULY- no LOL), if you didn't take ENORMOUS care of your horses. Yes there is danger, but is a give and take, like there has been with man/animal for thousands of years... Plz keep the vid UP -Glad you keep the 'abusers' addicts off the page. IF THEY ONLY KNEW?!

  • i love this vid even though i hate falling off horses

  • Oh my god... when person fall it's normal, but If that person fall with horse... OMG... O.o -_-

  • Nice vid!!

  • Wow at 5:55 very nice save and recovery!

  • i thought it was great i loved it,

    please dont take it off

  • hahah the person at 6:32 hang on to the neck

    sweeet
