I agree, China is not immune from strife. I think the Chinese are too smart to engage in a cold war. It is a waste of money as evidenced by the last one. Free trade is an excellent position but I think what a lot of people mean when they say free trade is eaqual trade. That will not be possible. There is too much diversity in the world. Too many religeous and political differences. Japan, S. Korea, China, India and Europe have made excellent progress since WW2. The call centers you refer to are an unfortunate fact of life. Those jobs went to India as a cost cutting measure for the companies useing them to serve mostly American customers. What does any of your statement have to do with the MIC? Every time an advancement in technology is made by one country, another will soon equal or surpass it. The United States military has always gone up and down in terms of speed of advancement in technology depending on the state of the world.
