What a great festival this used to be and it's such a shame to see the state it has now become. Eavis really pissed on his chips when he started ranting about the festival being "too middle aged" and about wanting to attact a younger crowd. A great way of ripping the heart out a festival is to critice the people that go. Now, sadly, it is nothing short of a chav fest on a par with the likes of Reading and Leeds etc.
@luanaziggy "It was 1971 when I first played here. I stayed at Worthy Farm House, with a couple of other people. [We had a] huge bottle of cannabis, from a lovely doctor - for medicinal reasons (lol) - and got out to the stage at about 5:30 in the morning. This is so cool for us! It really is cool! I've not been here for 30 years and it's fucking great!"
I was there watching him but had eaten some chocolates that made me fly with dragons and angels in a sky of red fire , and then lots of the people had the heads of bears, when I wandered around the site . bowie had the head of a bear as well, it seemed to add to the performance
David stay still with us, you are so professionally, so natural, so amazing, i' m young and i' ve never saw one your concert, give me one chance and i'll never forger it! i'll never forget david bowie anyway. His song are impressed in my memory for ever
Yeah and it sucks. This is not the real performance. It''s up here on the tube, and i've got it on bootlegs, this is not the original performance, it's been edited and the instrumentation is not correct. Look up Heroes David Bowie 2000 glastonbury. It's better than this
This is a great Song and David Bowie is by far one of the best musicians ever. And by the way that is not Charles Manson. He has had a life sentence since the 1970's before heroes ever came out. So i highly doubt that is him.
what i video!! bowie is amazing! the song goes so well with glasto. i have my ticket for this year and can't wait to get back and be myself for 6 days.
Watched this on the night and was one of the most electrifying live moments I have ever seen. Could have done without the extra bits in this video though!
I don't know if anyone will be offended by this but I think Bowie somehow looks similiar to Tilda Swinton. They are both quite androgynous. They could be brother and sister.
0.40 into the vid, mad hippie with red hair and no shirt, think his name was barry, used to be a mate of mine in Bristol, I remember everybody going down to the festival including Barry, this was in the early 70's.
when he got back he was completely different! he had that wild eyed look like in this vid, I remember wondering what had happened!
The 1971 performance of D.Bowie can be heard on my mates website. He is solo and plays Bombers, an unreleased song. I am not sure why he declined to issue this. All hail the siren.
This concert in 2000 (was it that long ago?) is magnificent. I feel pleased that Bowie rose to the occasion.
I acutually don't like the fireworks in the background during this wonderful song. But i wasn't there so it's quite feastable for all the audience. The sacral origion of this place 'Glastonbury' is the main reason i like the film.
I've been a Bowie fan for 30 years. I've just discovered this video. Certainly a performance piece for all time showing the best that he could do live. I'm completely blown away.
ehehheh. Il raccordo anulare è fantastico..giusto nella parodia di guzzanti però...!! Hai proprio ragione siano uno stato arretratissimo e magari solo x i concerti...AIMé.CIAO
He is a god. I can't believe that even being in his "older years" compared to being 20 [no offence] he still has such great energy, the same spectacular voice, and he has carried his good looks with him through the decades. Awesome david!
