  • What a great festival this used to be and it's such a shame to see the state it has now become. Eavis really pissed on his chips when he started ranting about the festival being "too middle aged" and about wanting to attact a younger crowd. A great way of ripping the heart out a festival is to critice the people that go. Now, sadly, it is nothing short of a chav fest on a par with the likes of Reading and Leeds etc.

  • HELP ME!!!Somebody can write what He said..... I understand just some words...I WAS THERE with him MAGIC MOMENT!!!!!!!Fantastic place!!

  • @luanaziggy "It was 1971 when I first played here. I stayed at Worthy Farm House, with a couple of other people. [We had a] huge bottle of cannabis, from a lovely doctor - for medicinal reasons (lol) - and got out to the stage at about 5:30 in the morning. This is so cool for us! It really is cool! I've not been here for 30 years and it's fucking great!"

Bowie appeared in 2001 or something, with his long hair, covering his scars where he got stiched up

  • @paddy9i99 and you point is?

  • its called heroes man

  • Bowie, what a total legand

  • Great video, gave me goosebumps. Bowie's always been my Hero.

    Thanks from Kiwiland.

  • Bowie pretends to be Wall St but we all know he's just a frustrated hippy

  • Lui.......un mito. questo video ne è la prova.

  • W Glastonbury!!

  • @tiggy777

Thanks for posting - but this wasn't Bowie in 2006 but in 2000, right?

  • It was 2000. There was no Glastonbury Festival in 2006.

  • @jonshanks

    2000 - that's what I wrote!

  • @jonshanks

i think the film was made in 2006

  • @jonshanks no is from the film Glastonbury that came out in 2006.

  • always a hero! the guy is awsome

  • GREAT

  • heroes not heros

  • Carries a great vibe. Nice one.

  • I really like Bowie..and was there at this performance..but to be there was a real let down to be honest..poor band

  • Dude...it mustbe a matter of taste...thesegus can do over 500 songs, without one mistake!

  • David stay still with us, you are so professionally, so natural, so amazing, i' m young and i' ve never saw one your concert, give me one chance and i'll never forger it! i'll never forget david bowie anyway. His song are impressed in my memory for ever

  • @antheaize

same generation as Bowie we still love his old ageless songs - since 35 years or longer !!!

we also want him back on stage -

  • Bowie, Morrisey, Robert Smith and Nicola Sirkis: My heroes. Greetings from Peru.

  • 0:40 lmao

  • Great clip! What's this from? DVD Title? I've never heard David swear outright before...I like it! Fab hair here too. Thanks for posting!

  • There was a film released in 2006 about the Glastonbury festivals, which included performances from PAST concerts.

  • Yeah and it sucks. This is not the real performance. It''s up here on the tube, and i've got it on bootlegs, this is not the original performance, it's been edited and the instrumentation is not correct. Look up Heroes David Bowie 2000 glastonbury. It's better than this

    shit.

  • "Yeah and it sucks. "

    What sucks? The film?

  • No, not bowie af course. I meant the fact that this is not the real performance, but some edited stuff, the performance was much better then this.

  • David Bowie is amazing

  • there was no fest in 2006 cos of the flood in 2005

  • i was there and i met a dog called misty... the mist

  • This is what motivates me to go to Glastonbury...one day I will

  • Bowie Rules. I was there.. Great stuff!

  • This is a great Song and David Bowie is by far one of the best musicians ever. And by the way that is not Charles Manson. He has had a life sentence since the 1970's before heroes ever came out. So i highly doubt that is him.

  • yep charlies at 0.42..........WTF!

  • great live version thanks for posting..

  • was that Charles Manson at 0:42??

  • 0:42 nah, he was my mate! his name was Barry!

  • Awesome! They let Charilie out for the concert!

  • Second only to the berlin 2002 Heathen version! Like he said, Fuckin Great!

  • what i video!! bowie is amazing! the song goes so well with glasto. i have my ticket for this year and can't wait to get back and be myself for 6 days.

  • Brilliant! Bowie did the best set I've ever seen at Glastonbury.

  • I try to find the same file with Jerusalem of Blake

    Help me

  • Watched this on the night and was one of the most electrifying live moments I have ever seen. Could have done without the extra bits in this video though!

  • how good was that a true entertainer

  • This song hypnotizes me...

  • I don't know if anyone will be offended by this but I think Bowie somehow looks similiar to Tilda Swinton. They are both quite androgynous. They could be brother and sister.

  • Bellissima versione..! Grazie Marysonia per l'invio!

  • Jesus he was in good voice that night!! Great, just great.

  • Watch here the full episodes:watch-heroes-online[dot]com

  • super

  • Bowie Rocks... nothing else to say.

  • Ok, but it was in 2000;)

  • My favorite Bowie song, an' a bloody excellent video. Well done Tiggy. Thanx.

  • I was there!! I went beserk!! Felt emotional watching this!! Golden memory!! :-)

  • David Bowie is amazing

  • emocionante!

  • Tiggy posts a fantastic Bowie vid and you twats post about the fireworks!

I bet 99% of the people at Glas and here don't even know what this song is about!

  • Heroes is a great song! David I love you... but short hair suits you better!

  • Nope, looooong!

  • Sometimes i doubt myself: Bowie or Morrissey. Well, they´re both are great. Greetings from Lima, Peru.

  • no comparison. bowie.

  • I think the fireworks were perfect! They marked his 30 years of excellenece. Rock on forever

  • 0.40 into the vid, mad hippie with red hair and no shirt, think his name was barry, used to be a mate of mine in Bristol, I remember everybody going down to the festival including Barry, this was in the early 70's.

when he got back he was completely different! he had that wild eyed look like in this vid, I remember wondering what had happened!

  • fucking amazing! its a great film by a great film-maker (Julien Temple)

  • the fireworks are over the top

  • The 1971 performance of D.Bowie can be heard on my mates website. He is solo and plays Bombers, an unreleased song. I am not sure why he declined to issue this. All hail the siren.

This concert in 2000 (was it that long ago?) is magnificent. I feel pleased that Bowie rose to the occasion.

  • I acutually don't like the fireworks in the background during this wonderful song. But i wasn't there so it's quite feastable for all the audience. The sacral origion of this place 'Glastonbury' is the main reason i like the film.

  • I've been a Bowie fan for 30 years. I've just discovered this video. Certainly a performance piece for all time showing the best that he could do live. I'm completely blown away.

  • BEAUTIFUL SONG AND DAVID!!!

  • David Bowie and Morrisey are my heros

    Greetings from Peru

  • David Bowie and Morrisey are my heros

    Greetings from Peru

  • Whatever era he's in still great'

  • OH my God...Marry me David!!!

  • He is a god. I can't believe that even being in his "older years" compared to being 20 [no offence] he still has such great energy, the same spectacular voice, and he has carried his good looks with him through the decades. Awesome david!

  • No, DEAR Tiggy777. You're SO terribly wrong. It was EIGHT years ago, not two.

  • thanks i was confused by that, something was telling me that this is an older video

  • ...WELL, it IS an older video. Year 2000.

  • frigging ace! thanks Tiggy

  • This vidéo is so beautiful ! Bowie so Divine !

    Bowie, my only God ..........

  • by the way its 2000

  • Bowie rules. I wish I could be a hippie but smoking pot gives me a terrible headache. It really sucks being an uptight American.

  • We'll piss on your grave when you're gone too.

  • Sorry what

  • Bellissimo video....bellissima canzone.....bellissimo David.......bellissima Glastonbury.....Avalon....

  • this is not only music. this is pure energy...:) great song ever and ever... 10x DAVID!

  • This was Glastonbury 2000. There's a bootleg album out there called GlastoBowie.

  • I'm terribly sorry, but what is bootleg album?

And BTW, where is the link between his performance and those awful comments about people dieing out..? О_О

  • i was there .. a truly INCREDIBLE SET, ive never seen so many people at the pyramid stage.

we weren't sure if he was gonna do any of his classics , what we didnt expect was a whole retrospective of all his amazing albums. TOTALLY MIND BLOWING! :) this guy wrote the pop rulebook.

the superstar who fell to earth !

  • Amazing video. Really inspiring. Bowie rules us all.

  • i wish david bowie would play again before he pops his clogs

  • My favourite video in youtube. <3

God, id wish i could been there or to have everything like in there. :D

    Thanks for uploading so much.

P.S. Could you send me this vid please? :P Would be very very thankful.

  • this is from 2000 or 2001...he hasn't fronted a whole show since his heartcondition 2004...so in all friendlyness...change the title!!! you almost gave me a heartattack in exitement,,,wrongfully ;)

  • No, the title is correct. This is from the film about Glastonbury which came out in 2006. There was no festival that year as it was a "fallow" year to let the ground recover.

  • Okay now Im confused. Is this from 2006, or 2000-20001? I would like to think 2006. But even though, I saw him lately and although he looks good for his age, he looked frail & didn't seem like the old David Bowie. I felt really bad for him. Even though, he is always a shining star.

  • Frail, I do not think so son. And absolutely the David bowie of old, new and present don't dis the guy please.

  • I totally agree with you. I have been actually feeling sad about not seeing as much of Bowie & I thought OMG!

maybe I was wrong and he is still thriving. :( I think he did great for staying in the scene as long as he has. I only wish he would never grow old.

  • Damn I wish I'd been there!

  • Wow, Bowie is in *great* voice there. And what deal with the devil has he done to keep his looks?! We should all look that good at half his age!

  • He actually had laryngitison the day but a super trouper he carried on. He was fucking amazing. He is still brill. You cant compare him and Elton John, The latter is for the likes of boybands Blue. EJ is no compariosn to Bowie only by virtue they both took copious heaps of drugs and lived to tell the tale. Oh and lets not forget in 1972 Bowie came out as gay. Elton got married to a ordinary womabn. The he getsz hitched to one of the most annoying men you could ever wish to meet.

  • "Wow, Bowie is in *great* voice there. And what deal with the devil has he done to keep his looks?! We should all look that good at half his age!"

Don't you know? He sold the world!

  • This is the greatest performance of the song, I guess... :-D The best ending for such a heartbreakingly nice documentary film.

  • OMG..this was last year <3

His hair.. so hott.. him. so hott xx

  • i wish hed do another album and tour :(

  • I LOVE DAVID BOWIE ^^

  • It was 2001 (I think) and I was there too. Bowie is still amazing - and so what if he's 60, age means nothing, its talent that counts.

  • He`s a GODDDDDDD no matter how old is he!!!

  • he may be 60 but he's amazing...and he'll always be My hero!!god bless him 4ever!!!

  • what is this god shit, thought we'd got over that

  • SHUT UP!!!

  • awesome

  • impresionante!

  • i was there. He was great.. glastonbury, bowie playing heroes what more do you want.. And it was sunny!

  • i would argue that elton john is still there with him, but either way ur right no one has lasted as long as either two

  • He is great, but, Eric Clapton lasted even longer and is as just relevant. Bowie looks just like the cover of his 1971 "Hunky Dory."

  • how old is he now?

  • Bowie will be turning 60 in January. No other artist of his age is still this relevent, having sustained a 40+ yr career he's still redefining the medium. A true contemporary genius worthy of Iconic status.

  • I thought he wore a white coat for 2000?

  • the riff is played with an e-bow i believe, which sustains the note

  • what's the name of the effect of solo or riff????

    ilove it.

  • This was filmed in 2001, right?

  • 2000

  • He's looking great these days. He's an original.

  • does the hair not make you think of the man who sold the world???
