From what I read after the 92 campaign, this was a new model of scanner that could read barcode that were partially damaged. Plus, any politician would put on a smile and act impressed whenever anything was being demonstrated to him. Clinton grew up in a poor family. I believe his father died before he was born. I imagine he made many trips to the store. Bush Sr. was a pampered brat, as was his son.
