I think its funny when the govenor says the stadium is for the people of Illinois; lets be honest; are those who reside around St. Louis and it cities like Carbondale and Cairo support Chicago teams??

I don't see where he says that money should be given to those willing to open a business. He may say that it is a less bad use of it, but I've never seen him support any government subsidy or government handout. He prefers to let individuals choose what charities and businesses to support.

These places calculate risk and try to only give loans to those they deem credit-worthy (who will actually use it well); they are prudent with the money because they have an incentive. Government is often apt to squander the money on people who don't even farm on their farmland (Stossel did a segment on this, if I recall).
