best mixture is 50% vinegar, 50% water. I've always used this natural cleaning solution in the house. It does smell a little bit, but open up the windows and the smell clears in a short while. You can also use half lemon water (not lemon juice) and half water for the same effect if vinegar is too strong for you.
It does not attract pests, in fact it even repells pests. I know for a fact that for ants, vinegar/lemon gives the signal that the place is "colonized", so they stay away.
Once you clean the area, you have to dump out the bucket every and each time or if you dump the dirty pads back into the bucket... the floor will be dirty ?
I assume you mean "white vinegar"!

@6utterfli oh.. it does dull shiny surfaces like metal, so best not to use those. Don't use on electronics either.
