The black boxer is called M. Bison (in japan), because he was supposed to by Mike Tyson copy (M. Tyson --> M. Bison). Fei Long is a bruce lee copy.

America didnt call the block boxer M.Bison because they didnt want to get sued.

No this is correct, It's M. Bison's Theme. They had to swap the Bosses names in the American Version to avoid legal issues.

M. Bison (Boxer/Japan) = Balrog (Boxer/America)

Balrog (Claw/Japan) = Vega (Claw/America)

omg it is M.Bison's name because the original name of the boxer is M.Bison, but outside Japan they swapped names because of problems of copyright (M.Bison sounds like Mike Tyson). Originally Vega was called Balrog, M.Bison was called Vega and the boxer was called M.Biosn.

It was because of the game Mike Tyson's Punchout, I believe it was against Nintendo's copyright that they could take a similar character and use a similar name... so... that was kind of the reason. It wasn't because it was of his name but rather his name used in that game...
