this actually hapend in the Japanese version you play as the bad guy and your friend Gary and you were having a battle on a moving ship and if you defeat Gary one of his pokemon actually die because there was no pokemon centre the pokemon that died is called rattach or something like that i am not sure.. ..next in the game you find Gary in a building burring his dead pokemon you cant tel he cries as he looks away from you while talking as he don't want you to know you killed it

And yes, Pokemon CAN die. When a Pokemon dies, they turn into Ghost Pokemon and even if you use items such as Max Revives, they can never turn back to their original state. Take Mother Marowak for instance. She is the ghost of her former self. Soon she will come in peace with herself and turn into a full ghost-type, most likely a Gastly.

The glitch that caused MissingNo. is the fact that Pokemon Red, Green, and Blue were originally going to have 190 Pokemon but they moved some of the Pokemon to the next generation, leaving empty space. I can see where you got that from, but that theory is old and proven wrong so many times. Check the Bulbapedia and Wikipedia articles about MissingNo., then look at the "List of Pokemon by index number (Generation I)" on Bulbapedia.

Anne, then in the next encounter (in Pokemon Tower) his Raticate had gone, and Gary (right before the battle) says something about pokemon dying and the trainers feelings and stuff; also, he was next to some tombstones...so after this players began to think Blues Raticate had died somehow... ......and thats the explanation!;D
