  • Love It!!

  • for more afro ------

    search bolder gazet van antwerpen

  • look at our videos we have some good tips about natural hair styles and just the whole idea of being natural

  • Also wanted to add a comment showing some irony towards the woman who accused me of not wanting my daughter to embrace her ethnicities, the person who put the perm in her hair was her dad's girlfriend who is African American, and she did a bad job of it because she didn't take my daughter to the shop to get it done. I didn't ask her to do it, she had told me it was the only way to manage her hair better. After she messed it up, I decided natural was the way to go, never again will we perm!

  • I have been wearing my hair natural for the past 4 years now, I love it.

  • ..I'm almost 10 mos. Natural & so is my teen daughter. My son's hair is naturally thick and curly. The whole family is now natural. Sweet. Great vid. Beautiful styles.

  • Ya ivory lOok like da same shade as the ebony. Nice eminism

  • I have decided to transition strictly for better hair health and thicker hair. However, I get bored with the same hairstyle VERY easily and the only transition style I like are curly afros/rod sets. I don't like braids, twists, wigs or weaves. Any additional style ideas? My hair is very fine and have to wet and roll it w/ satin covered foam rollers every 2 days letting it air dry to keep up my fro. I currently use Loreal's sulfate free moisturizing cleansing system and Curls moisterizer.

I have in the past worn wigs, but I get hot easily and they make my scalp sweat. Any additional style ideas? • Gorgeous- thank you for shariing 13yrs Afro Strong- MUCH LOVE~

  • Kinky is beautiful. The life of the party :)

  • Great video!

  • Great Videos! Anybody that loves hair and beauty like me should be friends!

  • Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful !

  • Thanks to everyone for the tips, we have used the olive oil moisturizer and styling creme it seems to be doing the trick, she also started combing her hair in the shower and deep conditioning it before we wash it by putting the conditioner on her hair dry for 10 minutes. I appreciate the thoughtful comments and tips a lot!

  • I am mixed race but i have very tight, thick hair. I have straightened it for a year and a bit, and it is so damaged. The front if my hair is short and bushy where the heat has burnt it off, so i booked an appointment for a restyle. I want to keep my hair natural, with curls and no coils or whatever, I like the woman at 5:01 Please suggest me your ideas for styles similar to this? thanks in advance :) x

  • Thanks for the video!!! It made me feel so proud!!!*tear* I found plenty of styles I would like to try. :) Thanx again.

  • nothing is more sexy than a BW natural beauty (in my opinion). every woman is beautiful in her own way

  • Had more words than pics

  • This made me smile and embrace my black hair =)

  • I need your help so bad, well I always get braids or perms and go back and forth with that, well i have naturally curly hair, its very tight curls and very kinky and hard to comb thats why i started getting perms well now i want my curly hair back and the last time i got a perm was the end of september so it was only a month ago but until theperm grows out idk what to do with my hair. i was just wondering if you could tell me a hairstyle that will last and make my hair grow!!! Please HELP ME!!!

  • I'm English/Italian and I love my hair, but I've always been quite jealous of black women with gorgeous, full, bouncy, natural hair. I think they look absolutely stunning and I wish more women would embrace that instead of trying to straighten it out completely flat.

  • ADVERTISING- I HAVE AN NICE HAIR CREAM THAT MAKE HAIR GROW GOOD FOR DRY SCALP & HAIR. website -jahrootshairbodycream

  • My daughter is multi-ethnic and the genetic lottery gave her the same hair as her father. We tried the perm thing but her hair was so damaged and her scalp burned so we regretted it. Her hair is so thick and her curls very tight, it is a chore to just comb through and she has a very tender head. What would you suggest would be an easy hairstyle for a 10 year old girl that has minimal upkeep, she hates braids as well. She hates grease and pink oil lotion doesn't last at all, hair soaks it up.

  • @Zurie53225

Hi, have you tried any of the wet and go products such; Donna Marie's Miracle Curl Gel, Mixed Roots, Miss Jessies's Curly products, Fantasia Styler, ECO Styler? Using these products helps to define curls. If her hair doesn't already have a curly pattern you can do braid-outs, twist-out, bantu knots etc. if her hair is more thick and bushy, afro puffs are always nice for a little girl. Just be sure to keep her hair moisturized. Also check out my Etsy store!

  • @TheMakeupvirgin We just bought some of the Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding, and are going to try it tonight. I had seen great reviews for it but hadn't been able to afford it because I wasn't working until recently because I was in school. I am going to try it tonight after washing her hair with the shampoo and conditioner we got that has shea and cocoa butter in it. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks a lot for the suggestions. In fact if it works well I can send a picture or upload a video

  • @Zurie53225 If you want more tips regarding your question you should probably go to longhaircareforum(dot)com

  • @Zurie53225 ...greetings....my daughter has very thick curly hair as well and i have very tight curls in my hair...I think you should use a mixture of shea butter and hot water with a little bit of coconut oil added to it ,put the ingredients in a water bottle with very hot water and shake it up until it is all mixed up.spray this on her hair before combing ,you will also nee to start combing at the tips of her start with sections of the hair first..and use a wide tooth come or a pick.peace.nluv

  • @Zurie53225 What i do is an afro puff, basically i wash my hair, put conditioner in it (i leave my conditioner in, but my hair is super dry) then i brush it, and put it up with a hair stocking and neatly tie my hair into a sort of bun. Viola!

  • @Zurie53225 yep, i hate pink oil lotion too it's practically just petroleum which is bad for the hair. what i use is olive oil moisturizer by root stimulator

  • @Zurie53225 Make sure to wet her hair before you do it, soak more like it (it helps with elasticity), also use a wide tooth comb, and do it in sections, four or six is nice (you can use clamps like butterfly or the duck bill clamps to section it off). If she still has relaxed ends then it will be harder to see her true curl pattern, start clipping the ends month by month if you don't want to do a full big chop. Also learn some more and teach her so she can know her hair too. Good luck!

  • @Zurie53225 there aint nothing wrong with your daugthers afro hair, teach her to embrace her ethnicity and stop trying to change it, am fed up of us black women and european haired women(i guess like youeslf) making out there is something wrong with our thick afro hair. It was okay for you to make a baby with a black man so just deal with your daugthers blackness. Our hair lovely, thick and unique no other race has our type of hair and i for one love that about being black!!

  • @valmuno Whoa, I never said anything of the sort, I think you are the one with the issue lady not me. As I stated my daughter is multi-ethnic and she does embrace every part of her so I'm not sure why you feel it necessary to judge me. Obviously I care about how my daughter looks when she leaves the house and am looking to speak with women who know how to deal with her type of hair. I've gotten a lot of good tips and she does have a natural "afro", jeez woman chill out!

  • @valmuno I personally feel that you were out of line for saying that to Zurie53225. She didn't once say that she was ashamed of or doesn't like her daughters hair. She wanted to get information and tips on how to take care of it as natural and what to do as far as styling. She never said anything was wrong with it besides it being a chore trying to untangle and find a decent style to wear so her young daughter won't leave the house looking (nicki minaj voice) raagggeeedddyy.

  • @Zurie53225 : Hi. My mother went thru the same thing w/ me that u r undergoing w/ ur daughter. I was "tender-headed" to the point that i cried &dreaded getting my hair washed. Now, it's an easy process thanks to the right products. It's no longer a chore. The lotions didn't work on my hair either, and i do Vaseline lightly on occasion. Let me know whether u hav already found the best smoothing, detangling products for her hair. I'd be glad to recommend a few, and 2-3 are all u need overall.

  • @Zurie53225 also so ease styling pain moisture is key. spritz water into hair to ease tangles before combing, then put a bit of oil in it, maybe cocnut oil, or olive oil. also the more you detangle the less tangles each time, i had to learn this method for myself!!! lol and just plaits should be a nice style for a young girl or adorn wash n go curls with ribbon and pretty headbands.

  • @Zurie53225

Check out this website I just found. White moms doing an excellent job on their black daughters hair!! Good luck

  • @Zurie53225 when combing her hair try to damp it with water and use a wide tooth comb. It makes it easier to comb and less painful. My hair is the same way :)

  • @Zurie53225 Try this product called GROWORKS It's a moisturizing creme for thick tight curly hair.. it's my best friend.. I hope this helps. It comes in a green round bottle. you want the creme not the styling gel or whatever you prefer.. ;-)

  • @angelhart21 Thanks I'll have to try that out, I just bought a jar of Jessie's Curly Pudding and we are going to try that when I wash her hair tonight. We got a shampoo and conditioner set that is shea butter and cocoa butter based and we also cut her hair that had any of the relaxer in it off, it had grown out quite a bit so the ends were just dry and split. It's getting much healthier and all the tips and tricks you guys have given are so much appreciated thanks a million!

  • @Zurie53225 don't subscribe to the expensive stuff that ppl are suggesting. I am of African American & Indonesian descent. I recently found what works!!! no tricks! Here it is: Honey mixed in conditioner!!! You pick the brands ;o) the honey holds in moisture, actually kind of acts like a gel, without all the flakes and drying of the hair. I put my hair in 2-strand twists on Friday, and they're still goin' strong today- normally they begin to unravel by now, bc of my hair texture.

  • @SivanAngel57 cont. from previous reply: you saturate your baby's hair with this mix, and you can let her wear it down, without frixx or put it in a ponytail, smoothed out with no flyaways. check out tightlycurly website for her method on doing her hair. She's mixed as well, and had a hard time with her hair growing up. Check out her hair history as well. - I notice you posted 11 months ago, and have posted since, but I jus wanted to share. I'm pretty much sold on honey and conditioner.

  • Black women, you are more beautiful without the relaxers and chemicals. I wish every black women in the world would accept and maintain their naturality.

    Love you.

  • @jg95mia me too we have most unique hair tv then done it black celibrity need to go natural

  • True True True

  • @drdawn86

Amen! Thank you! I wish I had never heard of a relaxer. or thought that the only way my hair could have body and swing was to have one. And I wish I had known that what is good for my inside was also good for my outside! Thank God that today I know that what I put on my outside eventually goes inside me and effect me. And thank God for a husband who does not mind being natural! Thank you for helping us to appreciate what God gave us even more, AND the great hairstyles!

  • @sophiesgarments when i was younger I never heard of a perm i was 8 years old and my mom took me to get my hair done. when my was straight I asked will my hair go back? the ady who did my hair said no. I was mad. I had no control until i got a little older

  • yes! i luv it

  • I've been natural for 18 months and wouldn't think to go back for the world! I love natural hair and the different textures God has given all of us. I love the curls, the kinks, there is nothing like black natural hair. I thank you for putting this vid out there. And I guarantee, the natural look will catch on to all ethnicities real soon.

  • Luv this tune whats the name of it?

  • I love this video. I was almost about to relax my hair because I didn't kn ow how to style my natural hair. This video helped me to stay naturally beautiful.

  • African Women are naturally beautiful I used to couldn't see this when I was little now I do I am naturally beautiful I don't need weave or make-up if I decide to put on Make-Up I only need a little bit I am all that and a bag of chips I love my nappy/kinky roots

  • This is one of the reasons why love and am proud of being black. Now I wanna go natural. :)

  • i really love this video a favorite

  • Great video!!!!

  • Nice video. I got some ideas for styling my natural hair. Thanks!

  • You can say that again! The 'beautifull God given natural hair' part!!! I live in Greece. I change my hair styles almost always! Braids, perms etc...One day I got so bored of it all and decided to wear my hair out! So, I washed and left!! As I got to work...Ha!! The STARES...COMPLEMENTS...knowing that I never bothered with saloons..."Nuru, did u just get back from a hair saloon?" and.."How did they do THAT?" That was reference to my BEAUTIFULL NATURAL CURLY HAIR!! hahaha!!

  • 5:03 is the hotness! oooh it's so pretty!

  • @expertonmyself I agree!! 5:37 is good too!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE curly hair...and locks...though I still dont have the guts to lock my hair...lol

  • I love this Thanks This is one of the main reasons why I am going natural

  • love it

  • love the hairstyles and the video

  • Exactly, I recently had to tell a white guy his women need to go natural too when he made a derogatory comment about black women damaging their hair. As I told him, take a look at how your own girls are balding from over bleaching, dyeing & perming. Look around at all the dark rooted blondes with dried out frizzy strands. When you see healthy blond flowing hair its usually extensions or a weave to blend in with the damaged locks. I go to a white hair salon so I see it all. We are not alone.

  • Wow, how informative... healthy hair is the best way to go.

  • Great video!

  • Thank you, was going to iron out hair tired of the same styles your video help.

  • I have been natural for almost a year and I must say that I wouldn't trade it for nothing in the world. I love my natural hair texture and it sets me apart from the rest. This is a great video. Thank you for sharing.

  • Thank you for commenting :)

  • I agree absolutely! I did my bc back in May of this year. I am of course still rocking the twa, but I could "never" go back to that creamy crack mess, and blow frying my hair. I love my texture, and I am having fun exploring products and looking forward to trying all the beautful styles that I see once it grows out. :)

  • @superchick76 I too agree, I have locs and I wished I started this in my younger days. I wouldn't trade it for the world! Great Video such an inspiration!

  • I'm glad my wife went natural too its better to be real with your hair

  • In my opinion, natural hair fits Black people better. Because we are physicalyl superior, we have larger and more broad features... relaxed hair doesn't match well at all. More Black women need to go natural.

  • I agree Thanks

  • @ChosenFier so true, when i wear a big curly afro it looks soo much better than straightened hair. our hair was not created to be straight therefore it will always look fake and un-natural. be at "peace" with your hair, "love" your hair and "hair grease" using oil on your hair leaves it shiny, healthy and moisturised! x

  • I love erykah's hair at 5:35

  • To me the difference between RELAXED and NATURAL is the difference between RENTING and OWNING your home...

When I had a relaxer I felt like I was renting my style one touch up at a time... or braids...buying my hair from someone else.. natural is freedom :)

  • lol i agree and my wife does too

  • @7CitesChic757 thats a perfect analogy.

  • @7CitesChic757 feel you 100% on this one.. i felt liberated once i went natural nearly 2 years ago!!

  • wonderful!!..that's true..people can't help but stare!
