It reminds me of the final song in Portal and its radio version in the main menu (and first room after waking up).

I'm glad they decided not to go with the main theme elevator music. It would be like the game was too self aware and would take me out of the moment. Still funny though.

@robberblood Unless I'm mistaken, the track does play in the game on occasion when your'e in the elevator. The fact that you didn't notice seems proof that it didn't take you out of the moment :)

But seriously, why wasn't this alternate theme used in the game? Maybe it isn't good theme for a main theme at the start, but there are some cut scenes where it coud have been definitely used.

Maybe it'll be used in the second game, since it's supposed to be darker. It's anyway interesting to hear if some of the leftover songs will used in the seond game.

Parts of this alternate intro remind me a lot of the first song in the Myst IV: Revelation soundtrack which was also composed by Jack Wall. Maybe he thought they were too similar and decided to go with something different?

I would so laugh if ME had bad coreagraphed music. Such as you just founded out the geth are attacked the lower parts of the citidal, hard suspense music plays as you rush to the elevator. Then its like an akward pause with the elevator music...

After you get out, the serious music suddenly comes out again..

Nicely done with tracking down all these pieces. I was wondering, though, do know how to get a hold of the music from when you fight Matriarch Benezia at Noveria? That was one of the best parts of the soundtrack, but I can't seem to find it anywhere outside of the game.
