Nice review. Wish more people went into that detail. Gotta say though, having the charging port inside the viewing window and then within its own compartment is a HUGE turn off. But it still looks like a solid camera.

I was supprised to see a bit of color noise as your room looks well light, but pehapes im asking too much from the sensor of this size.

Very well built these, this or one of Panasonics equivalent, the 'SD80' has a smaller sensor now though, Panas 'SD60' is still good though.

@Anothercoilgun I don't think you understand how sensors work with zoo lenses etc. This is not a still camera and has adifferent sensor, 3.1 is quite goos for a video camera in 2011, there is no point comparing it to still camera's.

Also more mega pixels doesn't = better picture always. It doesn't matter whether you have 16 of 5 mega pixels as most get scaled doen for the internet and ppl rarely print bigger than 6x4.

MPX is for sales lense size is much more important, light is everything.

Gah damn I am really torn between getting the CX130 or the Cyber-Shot HX9V. Video and sound quality, to me, is paramount so obviously the CX130 is superior but I also want to take good looking photos. And I hear that the HX9V has pretty good video and sound quality.

So I'm thinking of picking this camera up tomorrow, but I'm kinda concerned about some drawbacks I've heard...no external mic...it records in a weird format so you can't just plug into PC and upload you must convert...no internal storage...touch screen doesn't work very well in bright areas but you can turn up your brightness...and lasty I've hard that the 3MP camera is TERRIBLE but that doesn't really concern me...

And now I can hear the sound of motor when i play the video especially when there is silence at my room, sound like low tik tik tik :). I got this cam for £306 uk pounds when I bought it. Cheaper online by nine pounds, but i got it on the highstreet anyway. Likiing it so far, but is kinda skippy even on full quality, when played back through a 50" samsung led 3d tv. But for the cash is an awesome camera. Loving the slo mo feature too, you will not better this camcorder for the money imho. Sony rocks, exept for the psn thing, it was down AGAIN yesterday.

BTW, another negative thing IMHO about this camera is that it doesn't have 720p-mode.

dude! I saw a problem you noticed, that your camera actually turned on when you just opened the side of the camera. That was because, you have not turned it off, you can't just close it. You have to turn it off on the button. Otherwise its on standby using power. Just so you don't wonder why it loses power while you don't notice (;
