Hey peeps! Hate doin this, but surroundins are forcin me to! And since it's the only way to get heard.. Just poppin by my fave bands and throwin this up, I just finished my debut demo. Inspired by Maynard greatly and thats why I feel no shame, think he'd let me! If anyone want's to then feel free to pop by and give a listen, throw a comment or PM about what ya think and spread it around. 1 view in denmark is like scoring 1000 elsewhere. So every little helps! Take care, Much love! - Liam Andrew
You can hear the emotion in every word, i don't know how Maynard comes up with this stuff but to be a little less hardcore than usual his voice is.. well, beautiful :)
one step at a time life is reflective, look to self, see the flaw, see the desire, see the hypocrosy, and trenscend! correct the flaw, remove the desire, disciplin self and grow dont be afraid to change, let the disidence push you to greater states of mind, push you to be more than reaction or egocentrism. realise you are nothing but an oridinary person and do something exceptional liberate from one self to evolve or you will never escape the prison of cyclical thought... cyclical life...
@RynKen Maynard could sing the word "cock" over and over and over and over until the song was over and it would still sound beautiful. Because Maynards voice is amazing.
@SHman555 "@RynKen Maynard could sing the word "cock" over and over and over and over until the song was over and it would still sound beautiful. Because Maynards voice is amazing." Umm Have you heard of Tool?
This song and Lullaby really amaze me. Not even because of Maynard's voice (that is innately the best element to these songs), but because the lyrics are beyond simplistic.
Maynard didn't need to write something elaborate and poetic like he always does, he just wrote a sentence or two and embellished on it, and it made hypnotizing music.
Been over Been over this before Been over and over Been over this before And over Been over this before So over this Been over this So over this Been over this So over this before - I hope that you read this...and i hope that you understand, what you lost...
What a gorgeous song. Shame that everyone has to be a moron and argue on it. Personally, I think that my favorite part of this song is the ending because of how everything else comes in last minute. <3
@opening2heal You obviously don't understand the 'point' of music. Maynard certainly doesn't want you project hateful energy towards people who you don't feel 'get' 'your' music. Funny: your name is 'opening2heal,' yet it appears you're more about hurting fellow humans instead. A pity; you likely call yourself a "Perfect Circle" 'fan.'
@mstlapc he was voted 13th greates singer of all time on some website. I think he is number 1. But with music culture for today everyone wants gay rap katy perry that creature know as lady gaga etc etc its really sad. APC and Tool are 2 of the greatest bands ever and you dont hear about them much
@Coloradoviking88 Lady Gaga is one of the few artists who can actually sing. I give her credit as a musician. Maynard is amazing as well, if Lady Gaga, Maynard and Serj from SOAD ever made a song together.. I'd have to say awesome.
@derangedplague How dare you include Serj and Maynard in a sentence with Lady Gaga. The only thing to give her props on is daring to be different, and even when she does that it's just ridiculous.
@iLikeCookie88 It's not Ironic because I'm not giving her props for being different. I'm simply saying that in my opinion the only props someone who likes her could give her was that she dares to be different. I mean who the fuck thinks of the shit she does? and who actually buys it?? Only mindless drones like yourself!!
I was just saying that your comment was ironic because you were complaining about someone putting Maynard and Lady Gaga's names in the same sentence... yet you did the exact same thing! xD
@derangedplague Lady Gaga's music is terrible. She's different thats cool but her music is still pretty bad just better then most other even WORSE musicians (Like Kesha and Kanye etc.) Maynard and Serj sing multiple times better then she does.
@imcoolerthenyouever Actually, her music is pretty good and she can sing rather well without any instruments. MAINSTREAM music is rather shitty but I consider Lady Gaga to be one of few good musicians for the decade. I believe you're just being close minded, if you take time to actually listen to a majority of her music that isn't on the radio; you'll see its quite good.
@derangedplague I have listened to her before. Her voice makes my head ache. She's not doing anything particularly special but I guess if you like her then im not going to tell you not too like I said theres worse musicians out there so if you like her then thats cool if you liked someone like Justin Bieber im going to have to beat you until you sound like he does.
@Coloradoviking88 I don't know about other forms of media, but iTunes, or any Electronic-Jukebox I've used NEVER has Tool on it. I think Matnard is choosy about who owns the rights to his intellectual property. He probably doesn't care about airtime as much as ensuring the right people hear his music, rather than just 'a lot' of people.
i never actually listen to this song because the baby toy sound though me off but when i was driving in my car one day to distracted to change it.. i listen and cryed.
To me, this songs makes it seem like the whole world slows down and your life is layed out before you, realizing it's all nothing but repetition. Internal conflicts and questions continuously coming back. The word happiness doesn't really come to mind. Soothing, simplistic, and beautiful? More like it.
@SheBeTrollin I think that was actually supposed to be the point, portraying the rises and falls in human relationships and the overall cycles... to take it a bit too far, the imperfect and yet perfect circle of human life.
@ecclesiasticous makes me feel more like he's into what he's doing on an emotional level. brings you closer to feeling like he's there singing to you almost... it's warming in a way. gives character to the music.
@laughdaddy123 he doesn't say anything at 1.57. At 2.00 he says "unmistakable noise i was hearing", which is taken from Thinking of You, which is about masturbation.
There is a live, extended version of this song. It is restructured & very powerful. I wish they had released it as a bonus track somewhere in the magical land of OZ...

at 0:46 your left hand will use the notes Bb Ab Eb and F four time, counting the measures pretty much, and your left hand will use the notes Eb C# and Bb which all of the notes four each of the four measures of this will equal 16 notes.
at 1:04 your left hand will use the notes G and E one note per measure and the right hand will do this, E F G A G F/E F G A G F, that's two measures, and then at 1:10 it is D C B A B G x2, and only do Con the first measure. If you are confused I apologize...
@stuntmcnuggt that is true ;) But I always think that the length of a song is usually in proportion with the length or the amount of lyrics. I stand corrected :D

Shortly after the two minute mark (which I agree he says "unmistakable noise I was hearing"), he says "I am, I will" and that would be from the song "Rose" on this album.
After that, it's really hard to understand. It sounds like he says something about jumping and the note he holds toward the end I believe is the word, "free". Other than that...
he says "unmistakable noise i was hearing" at 2:00. then i hear "constantly consuming", followed and slightly overlapped by Thomas' "reconnect to you". The last bit i hear is the final course in weak and powerless where they go really high pitch.
ok, after nearly blowing my eardrum out, i have decided that at 2:00, he says "unmistakable noise i was hearing" (as in from "thinking of you." as for the rest, i dont have a clue. its just mumbling.
Perfect ending to a perfect album.

ok, after nearly blowing my eardrum out, i have decided that at 2:00, he says "unmistakable noise i was hearing" (as in from "thinking of you." as for the rest, i dont have a clue. its just mumbling.

yeah you guys are pretty much right.
from what i heard the end is bits and pieces from the whole album.
so i guess it is quite a task to figure out all of the pieces.

At 2:20 I could've sworn I heard "weak and powerless".
Just decided to throw that out there. :)

this song is basically talking about all the girls this albums about that maynard fucked... and how they all bend over at the sound of his voice

fucking beautiful song. especially when the piano kicks in.
even the problems we think we've solved in our lives can return at any moment.

Maynard could make millions of albums of just him sing with acoustic guitars and pianos in the background...and I would buy every single one...

never thought that repeating one thing so many times in a song wouldn't get boring...this is an example of true musicianship...

I dont find it creepy and dimented.
