i love how you guys think that Shepard and Hunt (who are the refs for this game) are "Gopher Refs"! They are the worst two referees in the WCHA and we, being the Gophers, have to deal with them all the time. We don't like them just as much as everyone else! As to why they are pulling all the NoDak players off is cuz they are a bunch of delinquent hacks who don't deserve to be playing hockey. That was one of the cheapest charges i have ever seen!! And right before Frattin hits him, Wehrs see it coming and sort of leans back/ducks, whatever you want to call it, and Frattin's momentum lifted him up. Seriously, any person with any hockey experience not from the state of Minnesota can break down this hit, and see that it was just a really hard hit.

@xCanadiens ummm ... Frattin didn't jump to hit him. Frattin hit him and when he collided he went air born. Last time i checked that's clean. And going full speed into your opponent tends to happen in the NHL. The gopher player should see Frattin coming and be ready to brace himself. imo Frattin probably should have let up a bit but at the same time wehr should have seen it coming.

first off neither of those hits were legal.......1st hit was a checking from behind(with automatic ejection) the second hit was a charge because he left his feet so who ever was the one saying that it wasn't a charge obviously you are a nd fan also has no idea what you are talking about. i watched that game i blame the refs for what happened ....i know it is a rivalry but they let nd get their cheep shots in and well obviously you know who won the fight........(GOPHERS.....)

U of M is a very large school, around 50,000 students. UND is a very small school, around 7,000. UND does not have the budget nor the recruiters to do what U of M does. i ref hockey the call wasn't charging it was most likely head contact because his arms make contact with the helmet. You could, however, make a very convincing charging call because he does leave his feet right at the moment of contact.
