  • It's kind of hard to hear the lead singer/lyrics but I still love this :)

  • hahaha faggotss

  • This is a nice treasure for the start of 2011. I love the song as does Suzan 1669 and maybe a billion. The arrangement, of this group, the voices, and thank god a good recording of it makes is really nice.

Someone should start a Hallehujah Channel where we could collect all the different renditions.....

Example KD Lang the one she did barefoot on stage it was so powerfull as if the song was made for her to sing it.

    Everyone give me your best.

    thanks for posting this.

  • I love this Hallelujah really much - youre version is one of the best for me:)

  • they usck

  • i just got goosebumps

  • Lol at the guy on the right at the end. Did he answer his phone or something?

  • @HungarianMafioso Like he owned the place... yep lol :)

  • it´s wondervoll but lyrics could ave been a lill bit louder but it´s just @ a few parts ... great job

  • That was beautiful! You guys are incredible!!!

  • amazing job... <3 gave me shivers. only criticism was the tiny flat bit at the end but amazing job guys thank you for this. =)

  • stop the bickering peoples. Leonard Cohen is a legend as well as Jeff Buckley - BOTH versions are awesome! Leonard himself has been quoted praising Jeff's version so lets not get too petty.

  • wow that was amazing

  • Ridiculous, Lenoard Cohen is a poet and wrote all of these lyrics. He wrote in fact more than 80 verses . He was also gracious enough to share them with other artists so they could use what they wanted (which both Cale and Buckley did), Look it up.

  • @12stel you should listen Cohen version and read verses he wrote.

  • why? are still trying to say that Buckley wrote some of the verses? Cohen wrote many verses of this song & shared them all with other artists, letting them pick and choose whatever verses they wanted. When he sings this song, he often changes the lyrics and includes some additional verses. Buckley did not write one word of this song. Look it up, it's not that hard, you're already online, it's even on wiki,

  • Will you people stop calling this song Jeff Buckley's! It is not even his arrangement in this case. Buckley's arrangement was not even his own, he simply took John Cale's arrangement .

One of the greatest poets and artists of our time wrote this song - Leonard Cohen. Give credit where it is due.

  • this rocks

  • Jeff made the song well known. Without Jeffs cover Hallelujah probably wouldn't be as well known as it is today.

Give credit when it's due? We are; to Jeff.

  • Most Popular ? - How typically American to honour the one who made the most m0money for the record company and not the artist and the poet who wrote the melody and this most amazing poem.

  • I know what you mean. And I think was Cohen did was amazing BUT hallelujah probably wouldn't be as well known as it is now if buckley didn't do a cover. Im just saying that Buckley made people know how great hallelujah really was.

  • wow. very good !

  • That is so refreshing and inspirational, guys. Greetz from Skopje, Macedonia.

  • best fucking wishes from berlin, germany! es klingt sehr echt und es beruehrt eherlich! sehr gute aktion!

beste gruesse von meiner stadt! ihr habt euch wirklich berechtigt sehr viel muehe gegeben!

  • this is awesome, love the fact that the music is people singing! It's really clever! And it sounds really really good! Though at times i do have trouble hearing the soloist's voice, is that just because of the recording? Cause it improves slightly towards the end. Well done anyway, tis really awesome!

  • you can see in the beginning, the mic is on the stand in the center of the stage. the soloist starts on the side and eventually moves closer to it.

  • Its Leonard Cohen who wrote this song - not a jeff buckley cover

  • But this is the Jeff Buckley interpretation they did.

  • franchement c 'ait d 'une perfection XD ! ya rien a dire j 'en é eue la cher de poule mdr c' est vraiment trop bien

  • omg. this made me cry.

    its beautiful.

  • fuk yeah berkeley= no. 1

  • Super ! j'adore ! Dommage que le soliste soit pas plus mis en avant. Mais vraiment génial ! :D

  • I just stumbled on this and its brilliant! This needs recording and professional sound mastering.

  • I don't suppose they figured this song is about wild sex.

  • background music is amazing but its overpowering the vocals. i cant hear the main singers voice.

  • freakn awsume!! but u kan bareley hear hym singing lol

  • you need to make a plain good studio recording, i need a good example or hallelujah example

    planning on doing it myself

and on youtube your the best

  • Chicken skin..!

  • sweet job.

  • nice!

  • Beautiful, this is why I listen to music. I wish I could of heard it live.

  • Wow this is just completely amazing, I have goosebumps after that. I absolutely love this song and the soloist (his name was Nathan?) you are totally amazing! One of the best male voices I've heard in a while!

  • yeah :P

  • wow they can be a gospel group too if they wanted too

  • magico

  • beautiful voice!

  • It's a Leonard Cohen song.

  • But the most famous cover is by Jeff Buckley.

  • this is by far one of my favorite songs and yous guys sang it soo well!

    chills all around!

  • Oh my goodness that was spectacular!!! gave me tons of chills :)

  • this gave me chills about 5 times. really nice!

  • THE SOLOIST; HAD THE BEST SINGING EVER!!! THAT WAS REALLY GOOD!!!!! psh forget expressions, THAT WAS PRETTY GOOD FOR SOMEONE THAT YOUNG- that is AWSOMMMEEE =]

  • awesome ! ! !

  • I am intrigued by the fact that this song was done as a choral arrangement rather than an instrumental arrangement. I do really like the way the chorus sang the music.

The soloist was accurate and had a nice voice, but the best part of Buckley's version is that he sometimes departs from what is accurate in order to add expression. I don't think the soloist was expressive enough in his interpretation.

  • Great job!

  • he should have been mic'd

  • very similar to the msu version on here but still good

  • Too bad the sound kind of sucked. would have been much better if i could hear the chorus more than the sops "da-da's"

  • I agree. Also, to me, the soloist's voice was good in a techincal way but too normal and unemotional to do Buckley's version justice. All the cheesy hand gestures and facial expressions didn't help, either.

  • O.M.G.!!!! That was Amazing!!! gave me chillz!

  • Very nice arrangment but I'm not too impressed by the solo artist.

  • ...great! :)

  • This choire is beatiful and original! The sopran voice is a awesome!

  • major props. The arrangment is excellent too. AIR has such amazing musicians.

  • I've seen so many performances of this song - this one had a special feel. Loved it!

  • *swoon*
