Do you think an optical sight on the dust cover will hold it's zero? I've yet to see one that will, and removing the dust cover for cleaning and such will also cause zero shift.

@deepwater1974 I can only hope I'll have the money to buy a mill someday. Of course, then I have to learn how to use it. Do you have a video of the mount you built?

@Arwrologist Not yet, I am still debating if I want to show my firearms, The saiga is all done....I just haven't made a video yet.

@deepwater1974 Understood. I'm putting my new barrel on my M1A today, and like you, I'm not too sure I should video it and put it up. I'm still pondering this whole YouTube thing. I'm doing it to promote The Appleseed Project, and really have no intention of doing more than that.

Quick advice on the build. I prefer the Ace stock as well. But if you fold it to the left (side with scope mount), you probably won't be able to slide a scope on it - the Ace hinge will block it. Found out the hard way. I still like it better on that side. I got the TWS picatinny rail cover so I don't care about the old mount now.

@CaptainObvious1970 The barrel is complete, I already perm. attached the flash hider with silver solder and heated to something like 1200 or 1300 degrees. I just modded the trigger guard and drilled the hole in the receiver. I need to get brake clean to clean everything before I apply the finish. Side mount is off and stock, folding adapter and block is on its way.
