  • "Edward VII" was the prince who never became King, as he was denied Coronation and the Crown by the Bishops of the Church of England; in that day the prospect of a fascist King of England was simply not on (and so a reason for his rejection was concocted) and having seen what had become of Ethiopia, and Haile Sellassie I, the English priests could not allow the disease to spread to the home country. Today we see that fascism has taken hold in America and Britain, so Ed was ahead of his time.

  • How ironic, that Mrs Simpson was blamed for the whole affair, when in reality she saved the British people from having a disastrous King. Even the Prime Minister hated him long before she appeared, and wished he might fall off his horse and break his neck.

  • Such a sweet fascist couple!!

  • For people who never met this woman nor Edward and your sole information about them is primarily nothing more than tabloid journalism and the snide, petty gossip gathered over the decades- you all sure do love making comments as if you knew them first hand and were there every step of the way. You're nothing more than childish, immature, borish, stiff shirted sycophants. Why is her accent so surprising? Edward was British and after being with him for so many years it's not that surprising.

  • As soon as the death of a monarch is announced, their successor is proclaimed King or Queen. However their actual Coronation generally follows in the next twelve months. Queen Elizabeth was proclaimed Queen immediately on the death of her father in 1952 and became referred to as Queen from that say. She was actually crowned in 1953. Edward's situation was of course the same. He was proclaimed King immediately following his father's death but abdicated before being crowned. Btw to most English p

  • I'd love to see the whole documentary and I can't understand why it isn't available. Very frustrating!

  • Apparently Wallis felt trapped and was not in love with Edward. There was a documentary recently where some of her undiscovered letters to her ex husband were found. She never wanted to marry Edward - it had all got out of hand! She found him needy and childish and wished the whole thing had never happened.

  • I think that there were perfect for each other. True Love, I guess.

  • fuck all the haters the fact is they loved each other very much

  • Good grief the British Royal family are all an unattractive bunch. Like Paul Mooney was saying about Queen Elizabeth, if she's the queen what the fuck does the witch look like. Lmao! He went in on the whole Royal family. He said Diana brought beauty to them ugly ass motherfuckers.Lmao

  • LOl.. ok I'm from Baltimore.. and this is the first time I'm hearing her speak.. What a fake accent ugh... I've spent time in England and didn't try to talk like the locals. Ugh *facepalm* When I mentioned once while I was in London where I am from I got some bad looks >.< i wasn't even born then.

  • @ABild Ok. Don't forget that Wallis Simpson was from Baltimore.

  • @gatofelixriodejaneir Yeah I know, I was Born in Baltimore and she's not well looked upon here either. If you've lived in an area for a long time your accent dosen't go away. She's faked it up to sound british.

  • Well imagine it - an American as queen, what on earth would the Canadians have thought ?

  • Is the narrator Orson welles?

  • She must have been great in bed!

  • If anyone knew what documentary this is from it would be very very helpful! Thanks :)

  • The king made the right decision abdicating. Not by choice but by royal protocol.

  • true love story..Love is the most potent elixir of life

  • They used to say she could pick up a sixpence with....well, you know!

  • @lanksareit No, I dont know please explain?

  • @thr33wisemonks

Use your imagination, dear. Something she learnt in Shanghai and politely described at the time 'as using “her arts” on the Prince of Wales'.

  • parasitic, nazi sympathizers.

  • How can Camillia be queen when Wallis was not allowed to be?

    Camilla is divorced as well.

  • @ajay999999 There is such a thing as progress

  • @nathanbridle Rules are Rules

  • @nathanbridle Rules are rules until something more reasonable is decided upon. It was a rule women should not have the vote, it was a rule that black people should not use the same lavatory as a white person (In the US), there is such a thing as progress indeed.

  • @ajay999999

If the Government really loathed Camilla, then they could have advised the Queen not to consent to the marriage. However, unlike Wallis, there's little likelihood that Camilla will dump Charles or otherwise become tabloid fodder. With Wallis, one divorce was bad, two much worse, and leading the life of a hard-partying socialite the final straw.

  • Both Wallis and Edward cared for nothing but themselves. I truly believe this, and I don't really blame them, but I do see that the Duke's obsession with her was unatural. Her husband Ernice was a saint, and I think waited for her return...unfortunately, it was too late, It has to be said that after the abdication, the "Doook's" charisma vanished. (This from a child of the 1950's, I was born 1950.)

  • It was good for Britain that he abdicated.

  • @KandiAcid

Agreed. From a distant POV, it seems like she has brought a much-needed stability to chaotic decades. I'm not saying she and her family are saints, but they don't show a complete degradation of moral character that I often see in my redneck part of the world.

  • the queen is a whore. no better than ms. simpson.

  • TRUE LOVE!!!!!!!! cant believe anyone cant see this! the most romantic story anyone could think of. how more ppl arent obsessed with this story i have no clue!

  • That's nice there's a man who's strong enough to do what he wants for the woman he loves, instead of what everybody else wants.

  • The Duke & Duchess were very lucky they were not tried for treason. They spent WAY too much time entertaining the Nazi regime elite in Britain & Fascist Franco’s Spain in the years leading into WW2. Edward the 8th was a weak playboy; who had disdain for duty, loyalty, courage & self-sacrifice on behalf of his nation & commonwealth. His abdication was blessing for mankind. Edward threw his honor into the embers; leaving his brother George to clean up the mess. The words are harsh-but truthful.

  • @BearyHairy Maybe they didn't want to be like Churchill and sell us off to the USA when we could have avoided war and came to peace plans.

  • @BearyHairy They couldn't be tried for treason because they didn't actually commit treason. I agree that Edward VIII was an idiot who neglected his duties. But I think it was symptomatic of a rather appalling upbringing (not because they were royal, per se). His family were pretty awful and that was what contributed to his weak character, I also think he had an affectionate side and was mistreated. In saying all that I support the British monarchy in the UK and Australia (where I live)

  • God she was unattractive (Wallis) - certainly 'not too thin' (nor too rich!) by the looks of things, thank God he was never King - what a weak, pathetic individual. Long live the Queen!

  • @JamIndia5 she was too thin...as too thinly veiled your partialism towards the British Royal Famoly is!please educate yourself and check your facts before having an opinion

  • @JamIndia5 He was king.

  • @JamIndia5 How does being "unattractive" have anything to do with this?

  • @JamIndia5 Um, sorry to bust your balloon, but he was, indeed, King, for a brief period before he abdicated to galavant with this woman.

  • @JamIndia5 He actually was king.....for about 11 months in 1936 as Edward VIII, until he abdicated.

  • She is more Royal than the Royalty Duchesse de Windsor une grande Dame qui a ete mal jugé

  • She is more Roal than the Royalty

  • @wtmj100

Yea shes a sweety when she wasnt spending time encouraging nazis and enjoying time spent with hitler

  • I always pictured her as having a New York accent and being sort of harsh. Having seen this, I realize that she was not like that at all. Perhaps she comes off like she would be a little too controlling and strong but she is charming and they do have some similarities. I could see them getting along. She was of Jewish descent so you know the rascist toyals had a fit over that fact.

  • Edward was no King. That bastard deserted his country at a crucial time. George VI, now there was a king. A great man surely.

  • @bangwallitt I absolutely agree with you. I think Edward was very selfish to leave his country at that time. He shouldn't have been a royal member. George VI did a great job. I think we need people like him in this world not Edward.

  • @fordlandau - Edward WAS the king, although he was not coronated. Coronation is a mere formality in Britain, the Prince of Wales automatically becomes King the moment the preceding monarch dies. When you say that Edward was never really King is actually incorrect.

  • I thought Mrs Simpsons name was Marg

  • They answer these questions with all the charm of someone reading off a TelePrompter.

  • Does anybody speak English with that accent nowadays? I'm talking about the young generation.

  • Let's face it,it's just as well he fell for Simpson. It's a conspiracy theorist's wet dream really. Was she 'planted' within his social circles in order for her to 'catch his eye',thus causing a scandal & eventually getting rid of him, lol! However it happened,he was a 'goner' from that moment & his abdication was timely! Allan Lascelle's diaries are an informative insight into how much most within government & the royal family despaired of Edward.Just as well he went when he did!

  • Stupid old b*****!! They deserved each other. An ugly 2ce divorced yank, and an airhead party boy - both with leanings towards Hitler!! He did the world a favour by bailing out; he was no loss what so ever. As for her.......

  • @lukeyboy123able

YOU are an ugly bastard talking about dead people that way. Damned fool.

  • @lukeyboy123able ,

    Well said that man!

  • @RichardElden no we shouldnt have and Franco wasnt involved in ww2

  • @Aoife915

    Unfortunaltey he was not.

  • @RichardElden Not our Britain!!! The Brits, for any faults they may have, the one it does NOT have, is

its flexibility. Britain has such pliancy. It knows how to roll with the punches. Britain will be here, hundreds

of yrs from now. When other countries are long gone, Britain will STILL be here.

  • @RichardElden Hitler couldnt be trusted; he broke the treaty of versailles, he broke the agreement made at the Munich conference, he broke the treaty he had with Stalin. You're naive to think he would have honoured an agreement with us.

  • I danced with the Prince of Wales too,,loved it!

  • They probably met in the local whorehouse!! They both sound as if they're reading from a script, how odd!!

  • @418sadeyes

I guess YOU met your lover in the local whorehouse. Stop your foolish lies about the Windsors, damned fool.

  • @TheDukeisback1 No, but there's where your parents met...that is if you have any!!

  • @418sadeyes

HAHA damned fool. Your existence is just worthless life.

  • @TheDukeisback1 Go home and take a shower, you greasy pig!!

  • @418sadeyes

Well a pig at least you are worthless life.

  • Ok, that might be the Duke's real nose, but wow does it look like he's had a really bad nose job.

  • @GingerGilligan

Aah, I see YOU are the whore in the local whorehouse.

  • Wallis looks like she could be Pippa Middleton's twin. Hmmmm....very interesting.

  • @aliciaanne

I ´d have sex with Pippa Middleton. I love Wallis´twin.

  • hmmph, he could of done better.

  • Hark the Herald, Angels Sing, Mrs Simpson Pinched our King.

  • Dude I'm an American and fuck Obama. And guess what I served overseas too. Again fuck Obama. Americans need to realize they have the power to get rid of retards in office. Too bad most Americans are too fucking lazy and are satisfied with TiVo and dancing with the stars to do anything about it anymore.

  • @jordantipton and like Dubya, Palin, et al. aren't the epitome of stupid. Fascist Republicans! Yeah, they pay lip service to less government, and yet they want to dictate how you live your personal life. They're the ones who've brought the country to the brink of destruction this past decade. Even now, they're more concerned about getting the White House back than focus on creating jobs, fixing the economy, etc. Opportunistic bastards! All they care about is themselves and their rich cronies.

  • @jordantipton

Shut up! Obama is great. Figures you don't cause you were obviously in the military and everyone in our military is a bunch of loony, right wing, tea bagging nut jobs. Obama is President and a great one so get over it already!!

  • @GAYPRIDE1985 Your right I was in the millitary... I'm not looney I joined right after the 9/11 attacks, You have your opinion and you can say what you want. YOU KNOW WHY? Because I swore a oath to protect the constitution from all enemys foreign and DOMESTIC. Free speech ring a bell? plus from your name you might be a homosexual. Which your free to do as well. YOUR WELCOME AGAIN. BTW they repealed dont ask dont tell. So we must not be that crazy.. OR ARE WE

  • @jordantipton

You are right. Obama is negro shit.

  • @jordantipton umm also you forgot that americans also have the power to put "retards" in office. so i have no sympathy for the american people. that's why i don't vote. because i know that all i have to do is wait a couple of months before american babies like YOU start bitching about shit.

  • @1234blahluv shaddup douche nobodys talking to you.

  • @RichardElden Wow, how racist of you. Anyway it does not matter. "Royalty" is still a ridiculous notion. Thank the gods for the American revolution!!

  • Well done for insulting a whole countries history and culture Royalty has exisited long before your country was even born and the idea of a president who thinks he can can do waht he likes when he likes is a ridiculous notion too if anything its obserd in case u didnt notice there were indian soilders in the march who were members of the british fleet aswell.

  • Clearly she was doing the faggy Duke of Windsor with a strap-on. She quickly deduced that that Nazi fucktard was a sucker for butt-sex.

  • Firstly, it's admirable that a man would give up such power for love. Secondly, it's just as well because The UK got a much better King out of that which lead to a Great Queen and great future Kings. Lastly, she didn't force him out of the throne, he did it optionally and he never really wanted that power anyway. God only knows what would happen if a Nazi and a party whore lead the UK and commonwealth realms.

  • HRH Wallis Duchess of Windsor simply married the man she loved. The Royals put pressure on HRH The Duke of Windsor not to marry her this is fact. The current Royal Family should praise both the Duke & the Duchess today for with out them, Queen Elizabeth and all of her off spring would be simply princess and princes at best. She stayed married to him and acted in a dignified manner though out both their lives. Unlike all the Queen's children Failed marriages. Wallis was a lady with class!

  • What's up with her accent? Did she totally Anglicize herself? Not a trace of an American accent left.

  • @musicaltheatergeek79 Many Americans had accents that seem totally foreign to us today (many east coast socialites had accents similar to Simpson's), watch any film with American actors from the 30s and 40s and you'll realize how much spoken language has changed in the U.S. over just a few decades

  • @EclecticMuzik88 actually, the accent used in old movies is called Mid-Atlantic. It blended American and British without being predominantly either. It was popular in the films of the 1930s/1940s in order to appeal to moviegoers on both sides of the pond. But it was still affected. There were many American movie stars of the time who didn't use the Mid-Atlantic dialect. Furthermore, a Mid-Atlantic accent wouldn't sound so British, which Wallis clearly does here. It's a put-on.

  • @EclecticMuzik88 Kathrine Hepburn was one in particular that had that very accent

  • @EclecticMuzik88

Yes indeed ..american actors and actresses sounded cultivated then now they have a terrible accent..that´s no language anymore.

  • @musicaltheatergeek79

    Thank heaven..American accent ist terrible..

  • Amazing how much damage a vagina can do to a man's mind . . . . .

  • LOL, First off the notion of "royalty" is ridiculous in this day and age. As we have come to see both in times past AND in modern times, these people are just as Messed Up as anyone else and in some cases far worse. The fact that people still hold them in some kind of "reverence" is mind numbing...One thing about Wallis though, she always looked great. Such style. She and her husband both had such style.

  • @RichardElden Hitler and Mussolini were close allies that is shown with the pact of steel and the axis alliance. Italy would have had to fight along side Germany as long as Mussolini was leading because of these. If we had joined forces with Hitler he would have taken over, we wasn't trust worthy, he had already broken the treaty of Versailles and because of nature of Hitlers ideology he would never have stopped.

  • i bet her ex-husband was like:

''who the fuck is this guy...her new man isnt better than me, let me see this guy....fucking shit head...*checks*...ahhh shoot -.- The King of England...fml''

  • @RichardElden Do you even know what you're talking about? World War II wasn't good for anyone but we it would have been far worse if we had joined Hitler. Hitler would have taken over eastern Europe then moved on to Britain, by the time the war started Italy was already a German satellite state, they would have done the same to us.

  • @Aoife915

Hitler liked the British and he regretted that Britain declared war on Germany. Downing Street should not have done this. By the way Hitler told Lady Mosley that the present Queen (then Princess Elizabeth) were nice.

  • @grandimusicisti Hitler's plans were to go east, if we hadn't gone to war with him he would have done it then taken all of Europe. Do you really think that after he had Europe he wouldn't want Britain?

  • @Aoife915

Hitler was a great man. The Duke and Duchess of Windsor ..King and Queen of England *****

  • @TheDukeisback1 Are you serious? Hitler was resonsible for World war 2, That makes him responsible for the estimated 62.4 to 78.4 million people that died. How can you say he was a great man?

  • @Aoife915

Britain declared war on Germany. Britain ist responsible for WW2. Adolf Hitler is responsible for the war against Poland.

  • @TheDukeisback1 Britain had to defend Poland, they had an alliance with the. HItler knew this, Britain even warned Germany but he did it anyway.

  • @Aoife915

Who cares about Poland? No British business. There lived many ethnic Germans who were attatcked by the Polish first. The British had many colonies and attacked and destroyed the life of millions of Africans, Indians etc. There is nothing that makes the British Emprire better than the Third Reich.

  • @erinundra

    YOU are an idiot!!!

  • Auf dieses Video antworten...

The British alliance with Poland was the wrong alliance.

  • @RichardElden Do you even know what you're talking about? World War II was good for anyone but we it would have been far worse if we had joined Hitler. Hitler would have taken over eastern Europe then moved on to Britain, by the time the war started Italy was already a German satellite state, they would have done the same to us.

  • @nevanovna I totally agree with you. What a pity. I wish the royal could realize what they are doing to their great ancestors.

  • Now the Royals marry anybody, the blood will well watered down by commeners

  • @nevanovna this woman was a big mistake, however in other cases the 'lesser known' women that princes marry in order to become king are infact distant relatives of themselves OR from another royal family. for eg, kate middleton is related to prince william but not inbred kinda relations, they arnt first cousins or anything, it just goes back centuries. if that makes any sense?

  • The Windsors were a great couple..Love story of the 20th century!!

  • @RichardElden

You do realise Winston Churchill was a drunkard?

  • @vonFalkenstein77 He coped with it brilliantly.

  • @RichardElden

    That´s true..

  • @RichardElden that's a terrible thing to say.

  • Certainly, one of the most controversial couples of the twentieth century. One of the great love stories of all time? questionable. Stylish? yes. Selfish? undeniably. Facinating? Like a camp movie!! In love? On who's side? The Duke's , certainly. Wallis was a big gold digger from Baltimore--was she in love? In her fashion--but once he threw the crown away--I think she loved him less--because, you see, her goal to be Queen was taken away.

  • @windstorm1000 I buy that.

  • This couple have a quiet dignity and class that is rarely seen in today's loud and vulgar world. They are clearly from a different era that is no more.

  • @warrenpaine What? They were huge nazi supporters, they were friends with Hiter and there are loads of pictures of both of them doing the nazi salute. They had no class what so ever.

  • WW2 was a huge mistake, mainly perpetrated by the maniacal expansionism of Adolf Hitler

  • What people forget was Edward/David was actually pure German. Taken on that basis are his sympathies really suprising

  • WE can all thank Godthat Edward never really became King... he was never up to the task of World War 2... his brother, George VI endured his job stoically..but he died prematurely as a result of the massive stress and the smoking that resulted from this.

  • @fordlandau I ABSOLUTELY agree with you... Thank God that that skag came along and took care of the problem. Who know's what would have become of England, if she had not. George VI died terribly young and when I see pics of edward giving the nazi salute, I am even MORE grateful!!!

  • A pair of reprobates and Nazi sympathisers..

  • He should've stayed King.

  • The royal boys just have a horrible taste in women, don't they? And they are willing to go to any extent for them - to their credit. Wallace over the throne, Camillia over Diana (what!?), and now Kate with her drugged and drunk family.

  • @marybarton2011 I agree with you except for kate as I don't know her.

  • @eflwinnie She has similarities I feel with Wallace, with the partying and the family with nothing but money to recommend itself. It seems that Queen just wants to avoid another Camilla catastrophe so she is happy William's settling down with whomever.

  • @marybarton2011 Thanks for your reply. It's sad but true for some rich kids who are not smart in picking women. :(

  • @eflwinnie those rich kids are probaby dumb too... there's nothing great about Price Will and Harry, they are mediocre looking with no special talents, except they are royalty. Of course with such background they are entitled to star wives, but to be honest I think anyone other than Kate is out of Will's league.

  • @marybarton2011 Please add me to be your friend as I can't add you. It said the channel is not available. :S

  • @eflwinnie I don't have a channel actually

  • @marybarton2011 I don't know but I just can't add you into my friend list. I like your brilliant comments anyway. :)

  • @eflwinnie Thank you, I only say it as it is :)

  • @marybarton2011 You're welcome. It's not everyone can see thing through. ;)

  • @marybarton2011 I really wanna talk to you though but I can't find you. :S

  • @marybarton2011 I want to talk with you as you're brilliant but I can't contact you though.

  • @eflwinnie You just contacted me

  • @marybarton2011 Obviously, there must have been something Charles saw in the Duchess that was completely missing in dianna. Maybe things worked out for the best. As for kate's family, that still remains to be seen. But her ma and her ma's uncle, all I can say is YIKES!! BTW, just asking, but does her father speak? I've never heard him say one word. Actually, I feel quite sorry for him

  • @418sadeyes Right on.

  • she must have been amazing in bed for him to give up the throne

  • to be honest, Mrs Simpson is very ugly.

  • She must have been a bloody good shag for him to have given up his throne!

    LOL

  • Haha dignity and independent aren't the words for her. I have a word, whore. A word for Edward, idiot.

  • The monarchy remained viable (compared to France) because a. the British tend to shy away from political change caused by street violence, b. the political PTB outside of the monarchy had little desire to make moves that might eventually bring about a UK edition of the French Reign of Terror, c. UK politicians in general and republicans in particular are usually even less popular with the electorate than than the monarch

  • I am not British or careless about monarchy, But this dude is crazy to leave kingdom and its HUGE history for this UGLY bitch.

By-the-way,,,,.... Women rocks!,,.... And make better rulers.

    Queen VICTORIA

    Queen Elizabeth I and

    Queen Elizabeth II.

  • @cordoovab Only Elizabeth I had any power.

  • @JuanMacready How about queen Victoria?

  • @cordoovab Her uncle William IV was the last monarch to interfere in politics in 1834.

  • @JuanMacready Thanks. So what keep the Monarch keep going? especially in the later years, like after the victorian era. Was not there any kind of Revolution mentality at that time. Plz don't tell me to read a book. lol

  • @cordoovab The monarchy was at its most unpopular in the 1870s after Victoria had withdrawn from public life. I think the monarchy probably remained popular as a symbol of Britain as the world superpower from the early nineteenth to early twentieth centuries.

  • @cordoovab Read a book.

  • A bloody used cars salesperson for gods sake an embarrassment for the kingdom

  • the lack of central heating in british homes, i wonder why? because the parasite monarchy grabbed all of their money.

  • it doesn't seem like she has an american accent. did they have any kids?

  • @franzchick66

She speaks with an old-style accent that was used by Maryland upper-crust families.

    No, she never had children.

  • Diese Frau war einfach lässig...

  • @vonFalkenstein77 ja, typisch amerikanisch

  • Wallis should have been made a Royal Highness in gratitude for getting that vulgar wastrel off the throne. If not over the marriage he would have come into open conflict with whatever government was in power over admiration for Hitler and Mussolini, and for increasingly cutting royal duties to party with the elite. As soon as the press broke the code of silence and displayed his flashy and expensive "private life", his popularity would have dropped like a Luftwaffe bomb.

  • This 6 month long king will go down as the traitor royal who nearly cost England to Germany.. Thank God for his brother!!!

  • Edward VIII wasn't selfish in his abdication. To have stayed on the throne knowing the division it would cause in the country where, by and large, the working classes and ex-servicemen supported him whilst the establishment despised him would have been truly selfish. It is very easy to criticise his pro-Nazi sympaphies now. In the 30s the true extent of their depravity was not known (my family suffered in Poland btw) and the immediate fear was the communists after the bloodletting in Russia.

  • along with this idiot being a nazi lover.. he was a shallow tart who knew very little and had a very simple mind. Thank goodness the government kicked this idiot out of the country...

  • The man isn't even worthy of sartorial praise. He was naught but a fop.

  • She was a party whore, and he was a closet Nazi

  • @Thebibs ur mouth is filth

  • @Thebibs Putana

  • @tenorismo U give love a bad name

  • @Thebibs She was. Shrugging my shoulders

  • Just because he's royalty doesn't mean he should be held at a higher standard. It was selfish, but who cares? The king is easily replaced, especially one that is incapable.
