ghosh. Karan Thapar's constant questions like 'who is the hero of your book and who is the villain'? is so damn shallow. Karan is struggling to rise above tiresome 1 dimensional bollywood plots.
It is important to understand that most of the disagreements between Gandhi, Jinnah and Nehru are true and sense born out of their individual integrity and personal values. (which is a good and important for any pluralistic democracy)
I am glad that finally someone in the subcontinent has the courage to expose the facts & truth about Partition in an objective manner, shattering all biased dogmatic revisionist history that the political leaders on both sides have forced fed to their nations. I as a Pakistan has always looked at Jaswant Singh as the leader of right wing hawkish party of BJP, I have to say that I have new found respect for the man ! I hope someday someone in Pakistan writes an unbiased account on Gandhi too!!!
Sir jaswant singh ...i am a pakistani and i am a big fan of yours not because you hav written in favor of a pakistani leader but it is because you hav been sincere in your efforts and havent done anything to change the facts ..
i really dont understand BJP's reaction towards this ...if u had termed jinnah a demon than u could surely pe getting puraskaar(award..sorry if i am not speeling it corect)
As an Indian, and a secular hindu, I am proud of the great intellectual honesty shown by Jaswant Singh. Indians and Pakistanis have no qualms with each other. I hope Jaswant Singh's academic foray prompts more research and books on the truth behind partition, as well as the underpinnings of the political dynamics of the subcontinent in the last few decades.
The 1947 partition was a mistake by any measure. Let's work towards dispelling myths on both sides and achieve a positive future together.
As ignorant as i am..i always thought a BJP politician can only be a muslim hating monster of a kind.. after listening to this man i think there can be exceptions..now for his book..i think that who ever believes he has praised jinnah and bashed nehru and gandhi and has been unpatriotic, is ignorant..all hes done is point out the facts and how three great leaders from our subcontinent took flawed decisions due to the circumstances which resulted in the partition. thanx for the video btw
firstly I am glad that atleast someone u can a MARD in india came up to speak the truth though he hasn't talked in the favour of Pakistan but still Muhammad Ali Jinnah was the greatest politician in India he realize that so.
secondly india is always a bad listener to the truth.
This reflects the idiology and ignorance of BJP and the fact that they dont want to remove the drape of hatredness on their eyes......God bless Jaswant Singh
A very intelligent person. im deeply impressed. The biography of Jinnah(Quaid-e-Azam) is never this much evaluated in the history the way he did it. Peace and respect from a Pkaistani to all Indian Nation.
People like Jaswant Singh are very rare spicily in politics he wrote what he believes in despite the fact that it is 180 degree opposite what his party think.
i truly respect the true historian regardless of religion, nation & race ......... Mr. Jaswant singh proves to be one i hope every leader should learn to speak truth ........ No doubt Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a great leader as equally as Mr. Gandhi but since we dont know we treat other as demon....... that should not be there ... theydo posses brain n those times so there will be logical explanation of partition so lets stop this blame game and accept the reality and live peacfully
yeah I agree. Have you got people in your country who speak the truth too about Indians & leaders of India ? Or Pakistan has nothing to falunt but to clap at an Indian's honesty ? I'd love for some Pakistanins to send me a similar link from your 'great' pakistan where they talk candidly about India & their leaders.
i hope i can give u some but as far as my knowledge we have treated ur leader the same way u did for us therefore instead of comparison between nations the best would be to start this compaign of acepting the truth and live peacfully.. May be someday a person from pakistan will stand up and look for facts the same way as Mr. J.Singh..as i said earlier partition will have a logocal reason and inevitable as that time so be it.. may be its the same atitude issue at govt. level which is obvious now
Pakistan has learned to respect Gandhi, and so has the world. However, learning to respect Jinnah would take sometime and it demands more academic work.
i hope now both nations would live the dream of there leaders and not fallen in the hands of saperatists ............ As Pakistani i only read and learn about my Jinnah but this will promot me to learn about Mr. Ghandhi ........... we should learn from history the lesson of truth history never tell lies only historians do and we should spot them
don't generalize like that. he is expelled from his party (which they have a right to) and the decision to expel him should most probably have been taken by a few leaders who form the core decision making committee of the party. on what basis can you say that the whole of India has rejected him? So freedom of speech is still there. He is not banned from voicing his views (press). the general public of india will judge them both (Mr. Jaswant and the party which expelled him) in due course.
Very funny if you think there is freedom of speech in India. This book is banned in Gujrat with a population of 51 Million people. Are you living in fool's paradise.
The long & short ov de drama is that still the BJP is unlikely to welcome to listen to his words ov cautions so tat sth can be done ta compensate muslims in one way o de other india...
I am a Paki muslim but i wish v vud av neva parted because tis has created a kinda abhorrence b/w us which seems imposibl ta deter at least for some decades ta come..
nd i pray tat may some courageous people like Jaswant born at both ends so tat enemity nd loath cud be downtempered
Well done J singh, as your PM does, being responsible and said the truth AFTER SO LONG, I hope we pakis and indian could live side by side, god bless Jinnah and JSingh, we should have such leaders on both sides and stop hate mongers

Jawant Singh Ji:
A person who speaks truth to power merits the greatest respect.
Jaswant Ji , iss border to mitaana hoga aman kay saath. Aap say darkhaast hay
zara aur mehnat kee jeeay; bahut meharbani.
A South Asia without borders is a good prelude to better things.

Jinnah was truely a Great man any Indian either from minority, color or race can get justice and peace under a leader like Jinnah.
Unfortunately we in pakistan dont have a politician comparable to Singh, I admit Sir Singh you are great too.

Very funny, he said no one will be able to read the book in 2 days and actually he is fired within two days of the publication of the book.
Can any Indian tell me is this the democracy and the freedom of speech and expression which you claim?
Aren't you the most hypocrate people on earth?
Thanks to Jinnah to save us from these Indians.

@ISIpaki : he was expelled from the party.. not the country
the country guarantees freedom of speech and this case clearly BJP doesn't. so, BJP may be hypocrytic in that sense but but not the whole country
