  • for my fellow sports gambling degenerates and ninjas

  • WRAAAAASSLEMANIAAAA 22 !!! :P

  • I think I saw the lips from Rolling Stones at the end of the video. o_0

  • Video gives me the dreeps! But I love Peter's voice and I luv this song!

  • Greatest video ever! Full of so many amazing ideas. Not a single second is boring. Aardman are geniuses

  • THUMBS UP IF NBA BROUGHT YOU HERE!!!!!!!!

  • watching this while stoned... damn.

  • another song that is ILLUMINATI

  • why does he look lika a fag.?

  • It's just still amazing in 2012!!!

  • why is everyone talking about economics this is YouTube not exactly the home of intellectualism i know the economy is screwed up but so is the rest of the world. if you're trying to change human nature to be greedy and hypocritical lairs then good luck but you all just seem to be complaining about it . basically get over it there will always be jerks but at least there will always be kind people out there aswell :)

  • I still can't believe they spent 5% of the film's budget on this song, that it was the most expensive thing on the whole movie. It was worth it though...

  • this song fits perfectly with the fact the the big corporate investors are a GIGANTIC PROBLEM! it says how they've basically taken over everything. ALL FOR OIL AND GAS. some people just fail time and time again to see that these big business have effectively taken over the entire world. they have more power than any president, king, or dictator thats ever existed. its hard to even believe who has money can do this 1% will soon be 0.5% WE NEED A CHANGE NOW!!!

  • @shadsf342 Your comment explains the kind of economic ignorance it takes to be left wing.

You know, it's fucking song...not by an economist, but some spoiled fucking star who himself was and is rich. There's nothing wrong with being rich when you earn it by making things people want to buy. What's a problem is when government helps you get rich at the expense of others by limiting entry into markets and limiting competition. The rich help society; there is no finite pie in economics.

  • @ProIndividual i dont know why you even brought that up. anyone with a brain obviously realizes that theres good rich and bad rich. the problem is, your argument is invalid in this day of age, because there are NO good rich anymore. this has all been a huge scheme to make the already suffering, suffer more, and the corporate fat cats, get FATTER. with the comment you made to me, i can tell your with the big buisness. you might as well be goldman or bush. the rich can help by ACTUALY PAYING taxes

  • @shadsf342 Well said. If they actually paid their taxes I could almost see some argument in trying to keep such people in the country. Its just that the corporations they head inflate the national balance sheet and help credit ratings, which are as dubious as anything these days since they were giving triple A ratings to toxic debt not long ago. Its people like Proindividual who are about as un-individual as you can get and just keep people in these positions by wishing to slavishly ape them.

  • @BelatedCommiseration ya u see? im meen shit, i remember a time when almost NO ONE was homeless. there was poor class but not flat out homeless. there was poor class, middle class, and high class. ( i'd like to add super high class for the big bankers.) but because of this stupid scheme reccesion they've made, the middle class, has been disolved by growing taxes, forclosers, and others. the poor are rising cus of this factor, and the high (& super high) keep getting fewer........ but RICHER

  • @BelatedCommiseration in fact, in my opinion, i think every thing that ever happened in this country that was bad and caused a war or something like that is an inside job. jfk assasination, to spread communism propaganda to start a war with vietnam, pearl harbor, so u.s. could get involved with war, and beat hitler for ripping off bear aspirin (back then was an arms manufacturer that financed hitler) 9/11 for oil money and drug money (herion) all so politicians and govofficials GET MORE MEGADESK

  • @shadsf342 I dunno if I would go mad on the conspiracy theories. Rather than a concrete government plan, the mantra of monitarism has gained far more credance than it should. In seventies and eighties because of stifling trade unions and excessive Government taxation, maybe, but now its ridiculous. Its Government just buying into a theroy created by disenchanted academics and big business to over turn Bretton Woods and make themselves rich regardless of the impact it has on ordinary people.

  • @BelatedCommiseration no no, i'm not very big on the conpspiracys either, i only pay attention to the theorys that have factual evidence behind them, the ones i listed have plenty. i don't listen to that loch ness crap, or any of that chupacabra stuff, just the ones that i told sayed. thats the problem with both right and left wings. the right wings, are to braindead to examine the facts critically AT ALL. and the leftys, think of TOO many wierd theorys. thats why i stay nuetral

  • @shadsf342 You don't sound very neutral to me! "he right wings, are to braindead to examine the facts" - ah! the facts.. those interesting things!

  • @ChristopherAdderley regardless of what i sound like, i assure you i'm trying to be as neutral as possible. yes, the facts, i love the facts. but the right wings just don't pay attention to it, or they know, and cover it up to keep there cnn shows ratings up. believe me, i'm neither. i try to stay away from the conspracy freaks who ramble on about wierd un hurd of theorys all day, and also to stay away from the t.v. lobbyists who act like there so smart.

  • @shadsf342 (cont)...I think al queda was solely behind that. However, it is true that they got experience and their weapons indirectly from the CIA when they were deemed useful in undermining the commies. Afghanistan was before Iraq and 9/11, which is where most of the heroin comes from. Basically, rather than a coherant plan, its all underhand attempts by the US to undermine politics in the world for thier own ends but it has come back and has bitten them in the proverbial!

  • @BelatedCommiseration ya, it was basically, but there was also a joint operation with osama bin laden and the bush administration. along with more financial and weapon aid from the cia and nsa. i mean, he was a cia asset for the last 40 years, he got bush his first oil company, and was one of his top investors. basically, what im saying, is that the atack was by osama bin ladens men, but there was definently something wrong, i knew it as soon as i saw the white billowing smoke rise from bottom

  • @shadsf342 An open mind is the best sort of mind as long as its not gaping. You just cited a few, in my view, dodgy theories in your last post. As far as is know, there is no conclusive evidence that there was Government involvement around the JFK assasination. In fact good old JFK drew up the plans for vietnam himself, they were just actioned by Johnson, so you would have had the war anyway. Also 9/11?.....(cont)

  • Hi There!

  • hi there

  • wow this video has the ill illuminati reference at 1:13

  • @TomPayeaLive something isn't it its everywhere

  • @gotjumpedyet It's called psychotic chaotic!

  • @TomPayeaLive i noticed that too...its gotten more blantant

  • @TomPayeaLive i think it's more "money" reference

  • Thanks #NbaTV for the "Big things are Coming" Motivational Commercial. I Get motivated to Ball Hard the moment i hear "Big Time....Im On my Way, im making it...Big Time, Oooh yeeeaaaa"

The Sample the Nba used from this song is Great... It's truly amazing How Creative the original song is ( I'm speaking of the video that is), compared to the "Big things are Coming" Remix the Nba Made. I Like them Both Tho.

Now Time to Play Sum Nba 2K12 on the PS3!.......BIG TIME!!

  • thanks shazam

  • also. claymation ftw

  • what the hell did i just watch? am i dreaming?

  • nba commercial brought me here

  • I watched these videos when I was a little kid, and they've really stayed with me all this time..

I think they've really contributed to the schzophrenia. :D

  • Peter Gabriel is the king of progressive rock with the two best progressive rock songs of all time; Big Time and Sledgehammer. Shock the Monkey is a pretty good song, too, though. ^_^ Progressive rock is one of my least favorite genres of rock, but Peter Gabriel makes progressive rock worth listening to IMO.

  • @19torento >two best progressive rock songs of all time; Big Time and Sledgehammer.

These two songs are not progressive rock at all! It's sorta 1980s new wave!

  • Lloyd Blankfein, Jamie Dimon and 78 others disliked this video.

  • I always viewed this as a song that was directed at the people whose heads get bigger with each dollar they make and the more money in their pockets, the "bigger" it all gets. He's making fun of the rich, shallow douches.

  • money cannot buy you heaven....directly anyway...

  • I thought about the Neverending Story when I watched this video.

  • NBA commercial brought me here.

  • Fantastic Bass Line!!!

  • Wrestlemania 22 ;)

  • I love him - - very cool video. :-)

  • Let's get out of here before Megamaid blows!

  • meanwhile... in England

  • Far out!

  • INSIDE JOB Brought Me Here

  • I remember this song so well

  • 1:15 ILLUMINATI

  • yoi sigoto geso

  • This isnt a deposition sir!!! .......you have three more minutes, give it your best shot!!

  • @Kwekwe

ahahahah.. so you watched Storyville too ? This is what made me come to listen to this too :)

  • Yeah, Inside Job brought me here. For some reason, I expected the singer to be a big, leather and jewelry-wearing black guy. It's actually a bowtie-wearing white guy. Heh!

  • @Nemeres do you know which is the song of the trailer (inside job) ? :S

  • @nickeponer Hmmm, no.

  • To the cashier "you know de rigeur, apropos" Her "I don't know what those mean. "En Vogue!"

  • The way he moves at the beginning it's simply genial !

  • Yeah...I just watched inside job...this has always been my favourite Peter Gabriel song and I just thought it was so appropriate in the context of musically rendering how some of these over privilaged banking elites probably do think. I willing to bet their thought processes, if placed to music, would sound exactly like this, except with none of the irony! On another note yah...why don't they make quirky videos like this anymore? Its either bums and tits or emos whining. Bring back claymation!

  • @BelatedCommiseration totally agree with you! but keep the bums and tits ;)

  • @obsidianhead Would you really want to see claymation bums and tits? I dunno...I mean gromit can get away with it suppose but I'm not sure about anyone else.

  • @BelatedCommiseration

I don't think people understand irony anymore.

I don't think my straight-A sister understands this isn't a song about how being rich is awesome, or how the narrator isn't getting rich just to get out of his small town roots.

He wants to be a rich douchebag. It makes you wonder whether somebody out there really wants to be a rich douchebag, too. I wonder how funny it would be to them that they've become a quirky 80's song's punchline

  • @BLACKIESBOY I want to be a rich douchebag.

  • @nooobsaibot

    Good for you!

Send me a letter when they accept you at the Lou Perlman School of Underhanded Business and you're snorting coke off of other people's dicks

Although I assume that's more for the homosexual and straight women crowd.

  • @BelatedCommiseration Anyone's thought process should sound like this. It's the thought process of success...and that success doesn't just enrich you, it enriches everyone you come in contact with. Afterall, if you're rich, you consume things, and that consumption creates jobs. There is no finite pie in economics.

Not everything is damned conspiracy theory/hate the rich story!

And the irony is IF Gabriel is anti-capitalist he sure is rich and inspiring others to get rich.

  • @ProIndividual Ahh yes the whole 'trickle down' economic effect which has obviously worked so well. Your argument reminds me of how rich Edwardian magnates who made their workers slave to the bone built nice houses for themselves making the self serving excuse that they were 'enriching' their work force aesthetically whilst breaking up unions and often starving them in actuality. Just handing some banker a load of money so he can live it up and 'inspire' others is not good fiscal sense.

  • @BelatedCommiseration its not d whining...its called spreading d awareness...

  • @BelatedCommiseration It's all about being ghetto, if your not ghetto than your not hip man. Alas I do agree with you, this new gen of music realy bites.

  • Best video ever.

  • @probrojeffro : Better than Sledgehammer?

  • Master

  • Why don't they make music videos like this anymore? Today it's always some git on a rooftop or at a beach.

  • @Battle5tarRJC

    ... Rooftop?

  • peter gabriel is the music chuck norris of the 80's

  • fuck me, peter gabriel is SO good.

  • supposed illuminati signs are all over this song.....

  • Doesn't get the acclaim of many English musicians but hes right up there with the best

  • Not available on mobile, sad fail.

  • WWE used this for Wrestlemania 22 as its theme song. 20 years after it was released.

  • The strata-cut animation at 3'24 is still unsurpassed to this day! So unique!

  • This is a awesome song

  • Peter Gabriel music videos are always so fucking cool!

  • pretty good.but sting is still better

  • Wrestlemania 22 bring me here..

  • Acid trip!

  • The original positive affirmation song?

  • OH GOOOOOD I love Peter Gabriel!!!!!

  • first heard this in inside job but thumbs up if u saw the devils double and wanted to make this song their theme song?

  • What do you think of Wall Street income these days? Excessive!

  • @berkamilan Small Government > Large Government. Wall Street being large is DIRECTLY related to government being large. Don't be stupid and ask for more regulation. More regulation causes difficulty for entry and exist in a certain market, resulting in oligopolies. Profit allows the US to be a superior altruistic society then to that of a DPRK ,or China. It's sad when people get there facts from inferior intellectuals making documentaries. Read F.A. Hayek

  • @Alias828 calm down dude, just it's just quote from the intro :D... it had came instantly up when i listened this song :P it has nothing to do with my opinion on wall street etc. seriously

  • This song fits so well in Inside Job, it's frightning.

It reminds me of Wall Street and American Psycho. True 80s vibe.

  • This was one of the biggest songs during my senior year of high school. It will always remind me of those Friday afternoons right after school when you had no real responsibilities and the whole weekend ahead of you.

As of 11/7/11, 77 people were doing it small time.

  • wrestlamania 22

  • The eighties were very good , we'll get through this pessimism . vote out these negative political blowhards

  • So I found out how Tony Levin gets that bass sound at around 40 seconds; he usually straps pieces of drum sticks to his fingers nowadays, although apparently, on the record, it is actually the drummer hitting the strings whilst Levin frets the notes. That's what I'm hearing.

  • 77 people Are "Small time" Justin bieber fans!! ;)

  • as my knees are on the puter table digging into 2011

    can's stop thinking BIG

    time is one big adventure

    as we mock the meek

    amazing

  • And my heaven will be a big hell...and I will walk through the front door.

  • "Grandes ganancias privadas, grandes pérdidas públicas."

  • Wall Street brought me here

  • Dave Mustaine brought me here.

  • Хаха, готина песничка. Фен. Слагам в любими.

  • One of the world's best videos...

  • soon ... wall st.....soon ....you will fall.

  • Aw. Only 240p.

  • thumbs up if you think of wrestlemania 22

  • @wwe697 lol jks im not a redneck

  • @wwe697 Thumbs down you mean. No real fan of Gabriel's music and philosophy would watch anything like WWE.

  • @Apostheb3st

what a complete bunch of judgemental, eliteist, egotistically charged and otherwise usless and inappropriate excuse for a comment THAT bullshit is.

  • @wwe697 o__Ô

  • someone killed the 70's gabriel and put this in his place

  • Temazo del maestro.

  • You don't see stuff like that everyday... well, in the 80's for that matter.

  • Todo el mundo la va a recordar por la película Inside Jobs pero esta canción ya fue un temazo en su época

  • INSIDE JOB!

  • BY CHARLES FERGUSON

  • @KrookedSaint FAIL

  • @Alias828 ???

  • @KrookedSaint Terrible documentary.

  • Inside Job quotes the actual people involved in the de-regulation... so how can it be an inferior source of information, unless it's completely fabricated?

  • @KrookedSaint Please be specific about the benefits of regulating industries. I don't think you have taken many economic classes in college. If you have you would understand that economics is largely enigmatic and you would NOT have such a confident tone. Regulation is a buzzword to cover up what it really is... socialism. Socialism is inferior to capitalism. DPRK vs South Korea is a classic example. Stop being fatuous.

  • @Alias828

So you're saying, we should all stop worrying how they bankrupt the money, then you pay for the rescue from bankruption. And you feel happy for this? Wow just amazing.

  • @filmworm123 Wait, first question before we get into all of that... Did you ever finish 5th grade? That sentence is terrible!!! I am not going to even talk to you about Macro Economics! That would be a clear waist of time. You can go live in the DPRK where the government regulates the economy and I will live in South Korea where the government doesn't regulate the economy. Those are just the unarguable facts. Bankrupt the money???? LMAO that is soooo stupid! Please google what Bankrupt means.

  • fumate un pito peter!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hi there!

  • This song is so EPIC!

  • Why all Peter Gabriel videos are like a LSD trip gone bad?

  • I love Bruce Bickford's stop motion work on this video.

  • HI THERE

  • it's sad that more people know this song from wrestlemania than from inside job.

  • @Prysewhert no its not

  • @oldirtymick

and why do you think that?

  • @Prysewhert yeah but the point is that people hear it becuase it's a good song

  • @Prysewhert Nah, sad its the fact that people know this song from movies and not from the artist itself, but yes, you've got a point, just watched inside job this weekend and the song sounded as if it was made just for this movie :)

  • @visor7 It's never sad when people first hear songs from movies or any other forms of media. You can't expect everyone to be familiar with Peter Gabriel. When classic songs like this are used in movies and such, they become popular again for a lot of younger people to enjoy and the new popularity does a huge favor for the song and musician. Think of any modern non-mainstream musician(s) and how delighted he/she/them would be if one of their songs were used in a big budget summer blockbuster.

  • @Prysewhert i know this from peter gabriel you fuck

  • @madcatandfatdogs

you should watch te movie though

  • @Prysewhert its sad u dont know the history of Genesis

  • @Prysewhert and you are one of theme ;)

  • @MrRyosaeba6 uhm... no?

  • @Prysewhert it's sadder that people know it from wrestlemania and inside job than from peter gabriel.

  • @Prysewhert You get all of your information about economics from documentaries created by inferior intellectuals? FAIL!

  • I had a dream like this during a surgery after i was gassed...

  • Hi there! Singing cinderblocks. Trippy!

  • wrestlemania 22 theme
