Only one singer matches the sensitivity of the original, in his inimitable and unique way -Robert Plant. I think it would be impossible to surpass Buckley's version, but Plant easily equals it, and offers us a heart piercing interpretation that ratchets up the emotional essence of the song several clicks.

thank you. i love led zep - they wrote the soundtrack to my adolescence - but like my hippie mom sez, "you can't make a happening happen again." it's not 1979 anymore, bonzo's still dead, punk has come and gone and come again. like plant himself sez, "i'm not that guy anymore."

Check out the original, a beautiful version by singer/songwriter Tim Buckley. Tim Buckley and Larry Beckett wrote this song. Tim died in 1975, he was Jeff Buckley's biological father.
