For the people that didn't like the bulletins, we could just remove them...but to simply get rid of bulletins altogether is UNFAIR to those who DO like them and use them.

I think its fuckin assinine that they took the bulletin box away, I like you relied on that to get updates from my friends and to watch budding musicians new videos. Now unless I seach forever I wont know who what when or where if that makes any sense. Umm. Don't shoot me but I deleted the bulletin box a year ago. I've always used the Subscriptions feature. And I automatically delete all shared videos. AND I automatically reject friend requests. (My channel description explains, so I won't bore you with why.) But I didn't know about the pay to be featured crap. Unfortunately, the way that works now is that it will post an "announcement" on your own page but it won't reach any of your friends. Pretty pointless as most people don't have much traffic on their main channel page.

Well, you could already do that by changing you channel description. The whole point of bulletins is to broadcast to other peoples pages. I didn't use it much, but I hope they bring it back in some form or another.

I just realized that the bulletins were gone. What were they thinking? Like you said, if a user didn't want them, they could just turn them off or unfriend a spammer. Also, the share feature doesn't work. I have 3 pages of shared videos as old as 11/30. I delete them several times a day, but the same ones keep showing up...
It's a brilliant ploy by Hurley to destroy YouTube. He's got this Magic 8 Ball in a special room in YouTube corporate that he uses to determine the site's fate.

There's even problems with the shared video box - even if you delete items you have seen or have been sent to you numerous times - it comes back like a nightmare where info-glut becomes a problem - now with no bulletins - it will be harder than ever to catch other's videos - you are right, unfriending an abuser always solved the spam/bulletin issues.
Also, I have just removed the box on my channel that used to show videos I had rated, now it was showing 'activity' right down to what I was looking at! (ie, samsarajade is watching a video' even though I have active sharing off) The new layout is a stalkers fucking paradise! It's ridiculous!

When I first joined YouTube I read bulletins and approved lots of friend requests. I have happily been ignoring them for two years now! You watch me or you don't. Your choice. Should I do some ebegging to finance my next vacation? They want me to pay for featuring or promoting my videos? Fuck that...

Now that's one strong opinion about......Bulletins. I guess I didn't even notice them because like you said, I had removed them from my page on the page appearance editor. How hard was that?

Yeah, I use the subscription feature, but bulletins let me know about some things from people I don't sub to. Weird. They have also cut back the number of comments I can make before that damned code thing comes up. I HATE IT! Aaarrggghhh..... Listening to the community seems to be in direct opposition to their business plan.

Yeah, I noticed that.... but I think you can still share videos. But yeah, I enjoyed seeing the bulletin boxes... especially OTHER people's bulletin boxes....
Yeah, I never heard of anyone who did not want the bulletin box. Weird.

I removed the bulletin feature a year and a half ago. Because of Spam. also I dont use friends that much.because I was notified 3 times for every video someone made Maybe I am different. I only use subscription feature. I am probably missing a lot of great vidoes
