  • It is too bad. He was on the road back. Just look at Ferrero, he has been very successful and hewitt can do the same, but he has to be fit. Tennis is not the same and ignore the people who are too immature to rcognize your talent. You played very well and the top players were on their toes when he was injured during the Oz Open.

That has to mean something right? If he was healthy, he might have done better.

  • ley ley dammit! I was hoping to watch this legend once more in Memphis this year!

  • Lastly. Whether Lleyton retires fit or injured, he still and always is a champion.

For all the ignorant know-nothing-about-tennis commenting here. Champions like Agassi, Kureten, Chang and Safin all had their careers fall to injury and eventually retired. Nadal will probably go out that way. Yet I dare any of you to call them losers. Not everyone ends their career like Sampras. Hewitt is still in the top 20, he'll know when the right time is to retire. I'd like to any of you try and get there.

  • Even if he spends his last years only winning one or 2 small tournaments a year, or perhaps getting Australia back in the Davis Cup world group

and being a role model to the next generation of Aussie players, I think he's done more than enough.

I do personally think he only has 2-3 years left at best. As one commenter put it,

"The difference between Lleyton Hewitt and Samantha Stosur, is that Hewitt clocked way more mileage on his wheels"

  • While Hewitt may never realize his ambition of reaching

another Grand Slam final, let alone winning one, I still think he still has something left to give.

He dropped out of the top 100 only to climb back into the top 20 within a year (no easy feat). He's in a position that many players in the top 200 can only dream of

    being in.

  • There have been a lot of news articles recently suggesting that Hewitt's time is up and that he should retire. Even more people who comment on the

article make scathing remarks such as Hewitt being 'overated', 'a has-been', 'Loudmouth' and 'Smart Arse'. Many say he should just 'retire and go away'.

I find these comments so un-Australian. What happened to giving people a chance?

  • He'll be back

  • Hip surgery?

    Guga ended this way.

    Good luck for lleyton

    C´mon!

  • if lleyton came up to the net as his thing, i think hed do much better..

  • he needs to stop playing. His time is over and he just cant accept it. He is too pridictable and won't win anything ever again.

  • visit Tenzbook.webs. for all your golf top tenz

  • why does he still bother?

  • i wanted someone so badly to beat federer.. im sick of him winning

  • i like bec, shes freakin hot stuff.. love to get up in on that !

  • token fake blonde with a mousey voice.

  • noakescash

he used to be a winner, running for every ball. now he still runs for the ball, but just keep making errors. now he is a looser.

    even nike has abandoned him.

but what else can he do??

got a very expensive woman to maintain

still, a couple of hundred thousands a year is better than nothing. but a long way off when he once earn 10 million a year.

  • @5uIemanp

He can't complain, he's fucking Bec Cartwright.

  • Thealmostguy

you are right, he got da beccy pussy

  • fuck off, he isnt a loser, i'd like to see u beat him faggot.

  • DonSEMRskii3

i can't beat him in tennis, but i can knock him out in a ring easy

  • you are over the hill bonkass. get over, or you will die a slow and painful drop in rankings. within 2 years, you will be over 100 in ranking. look at those younger players, big and powerful

  • yeh thats totally true .. hes staying average while other players are going to strive.

  • he means after he got flogged he needed a excuse .... man this guy looks and acts like a loser...

  • damn this is to bad :( he made a very god 1/2 season 2009. i thought he could could be around top 10 in 2010..i hope he get back to french open. he is so unlycky with his draws facing federer early on :/

  • i feel sorry for lleyton he just always gets bad news now :(

  • maybe he should stop hiring those big black niggers to ram him in the ass while they grind their pelvis into his hip bones.

  • Hip surgery? i dont give a fuck, he's a cunt anyway.

  • agreed

  • Actually had a bet with my uncle on what he'd blame his loss to Fed for. I said shoulder, he said hip. I owe him $50.

  • hes not making excuses hes unluckt ofc Federer was gonna beat him hes the greatest tennis player to walk the earth

  • @Ziolyftic He's getting surgery to fucking fix it, it's hardly an excuse.

Besdies, he didn't blame it, and he didn't make any excuses for losing to Federer, of course he'd lose to him, no excuses are needed.

  • cool story, bro

  • Sucker.

  • im so gutted!!! come on lleyton :(:(:(

  • well past his prime.
