I caught GP & The Rumour on TV in the mid 70's and was totally blown away. I immediately went out and bought every album I could find. I got this one, Parkerilla and Sparks. I had the same reaction first time I heard John Prine.
@dontbringmedown1900 I think we probably are just excellent judges of a musical genious. Do you like John Prine too? BTW I uploaded Black Honey the other day.
Wow up to 1,952. but only 13 thumbs up. I know this genius was very big in England and I imagine all the views are from England but mine. GP _ Top 10 of all time.
I loved this album when I first heard it 32 years ago and I still do, it's better than anything the beatles or dylan ever did. GP and the Rumour-the most underrated band ever, except by those who know otherwise.
I saw GP and the Rumour at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in 1976, supported by Sean Tyla and the Damned. They played this song early in the set, and when the guitars hit that six-note melody in the intro, I swear it was like the heavens opened. I saw them several times after that, and to this day they're still the best live band I've ever heard.
@rocketsdad7 You're SO Lucky! :D I've seen GP a # of times but never with The Rumour. Earliest was GP & The Shot for me. That was kind of brutal though because they only played for 45 rockin' minutes then eric clapton played for close to three hours lol. Layla without Duane Allman? Anyway, you are fortunate indeed :D
So far only 215 have seen this. Or could it be 5 who have seen the delicious light and watched 43 times? I have always thought the organ/guitar solo such a sweet and groovy sound. And I'll say it here - Singalong-a-Smokie is good but Sinalong-a-Graham is my vocal vice. I'll be back.
@twobirdsatswim Hey man it's up to 384. Probably was 4 who watches it almost 100 times. I see you get hassled on your site. Really both English and Americans lack much taste. You have your Jimmy Cliffs (and I guess some is not bad) and we have our Vanilla Fudges.

It's hard to believe as good as this album is that less than 5000 people have listened to this song on YT. It ain't pop. It's music!

If there's a more criminally ignored singer/songwriter in the history of music, please someone tell me who it is....

What a band, and GP's voice at its best. He signed this cover and the one for Howlin' Wind for me after a show.
