loved the video, know just how you feel about windsor, my service dog means everything to me too: godsgracecoveredinfur.blogspot.com i hope you and windsor live happily ever after :)
Thank you "HorseHaulin!" His name is a great reminder for me of how far I've come and to keep on going because look at all the people who encourage me! By the way, I have one (about to be two) videos about "horse rehab therapy." Since you seem to be a horse lover, I thought I'd let you know I am too!
Thanks for inviting me to your group! What a wonderful opportunity for people! I don't have Skype nor a webcam, but interacting on the spot, having to think quickly is tough for me. It's easier for me to watch the videos at my pace, and learn by watching them over and over and over.
I'm really blessed to have Wendi, from pawpals.org, train me onsite here at my pace. Whatever I handle, I do...whatever I don't, I come back to revisit it when I can.
Viki...thanks for inviting me. I had SD training today and we discussed doing clicker training. I've started to snap sometimes and I'm hoping that I'll be able to do the clicker training, at least sometimes. So being able to work my fingers is good for me...good brain busy!
I watched your clicker training video and because I'm so sound sensitive it was really helpful to see the different examples and their "noisiness." I'm going to try a few and see what is easiest for me to operate.
@Vicki- in regards to joining your list for clicker training...I do support clicker training and have a # of SD friends who use clickers while training. I tried using a clicker, but due to my hand mobility issues, I'm unable to use it...nor do I have fast enough brain thought to coordination success. So I use lots of petting, praise, and sometimes treats to reinforce Windsor's behavior or what he is training to do. But to still be able to learn from you, where is the list? What do I do?
Vicki! I'm so sorry. It's been months since you commented and I'm just now seeing it. Plus it took me a bit too "figure" out how to write you back. I get confused due to my brain injury. Yes, I made the video. I learned how to do that starting at the beginning of the year or so. I worked on this video for months, preparing for the big day of when I'd meet Windsor, so it didn't take as long to "put it all into place." So, it really is my thank you to many people.
You are welcome. I was wondering if you had made the video yourself. Yes, I think that would show your abilities. I am presently working with a woman who is training her own service dog. If you'd like to join a list to learn more about clicker training, you would be welcome. There are already many people on it, training their own service dogs, or presently using service dogs.
@vikidobe Yes, I made the video myself. I prepared and learned for months prior to making this. It was a good brain project for me and I continue to enjoy making others. We start mobility harness training this week. I've started to "snap" sometimes, so I'm wondering if that would lead into me being able to use a clicker now or soon. That would be another wonderful addition!
@vikidobe Thank you Vicki! It means so much to me that I could make this as a "Thank You" to many people who helped me. Being able to make this video shows great brain progress/healing too!

Hi Christy: I'm not sure if I replied to your other comments to me. If you'd like to try and join us, you'd be welcome.
I suggest you join 'Training Levels' yahoo group. Are you able to read, and comprehend? It seems like you can.
If you have a web cam, and download Skype, you could 'sit in' and watch what we are doing. You'd be welcome.
