the mouse was a test, it most likely died or they know how to transplant. Yeah harsh, mice get the bad side of the deal. there probably waas nothing wrong with the mouse.

This is a donor heart on the recipient aorta and central vein - the mouse still has other heart. i've done this surgery with kidney transplant on the mouse, it is a good excercise for a budding microsurgeon, and pretty darn fun also
