America was more respected back in the days, were sure not respected now. My God dude looks who is running America now or do you even care. America aint like it use to and never will be. Why even click on Ray Price and mute him, stay away from hes site. Looks to me you never been around enough music.lol.......
Let's all go to the State Fair and pretend it's 1950!!! I get a kick out of those that want to relive something that died along time ago. GO! get back on that 80 acres and live. You won't make a living.
Heavy "oil smell"? I live in Iowa, farm country, though a city gal....heavy "oil smell" should come from you BIG CITY SLICKERS with all your automobiles!!! LOL
As a musican at a local club, I sing and play alot of Ray Price songs. But i actually enjoy this song, LOVE the blues sound thanks for the song Jrcaseman

Congrats on a really great video, the pictures , and Ray Price singing this classic song. This shows the real America, our roots, before all this PC crap took over. Keep the faith, it is much appreciated.
Kris Kristofferson composed this song. He thanked Ray Price for what the royalties brought him, when he inducted Ray into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
The record crossed over to the pop charts, and went to #11.
I am one of the New Yorkers who has had nothing but warm and tender memories of this song. Many years ago, I worked as a traveling musician in the north mid-west area from Ohio to Montana I needed a few country songs to sing and this is one I sing to date even in France, Portugal and Spain with pleasure. Thanks Ray for the best rendition of this song which is still being enjoyed by many.
I used to dance with my Daddy to this song at the Eagles Lodge. I can still hear his singing in my ear while he held me close to dance. For the good times Daddy! :( I miss you!
My mom left my dad when this was out - damn near killed him - hard to watch He's retired in Florida with a sweet young thing !! (go daddy) She's still unhappy.
