Since there is now a tunnel, should the Story Bridge be demolished?

@Myrtone Are you mad?? That's like demolishing the Sydney harbour bridge because they built a new tunnel in syd!! Not only is the story bridge a Brisbane icon and touist attraction but it also serves as an important river link. It will be there for as long ad Brisbane itself exists.

@soulvisionq1 Isn't the syndey harbour bridge much older, and more notable? Bridges that touch the water at any point, which neither the harbour or story bridges do, can affect the flow of the river. But both bridges still obstrct the sky above the water, which affects the boater's view.

@Myrtone The Sydney Harbour Bridge is 7 years older... they were both built during the same time. The Story Bridge is an architectural icon for Brisbane and has been there for 70 years now with nothing but positive impacts. You clearly haven't seen it or know much about it.

Also, this mongrel thing took three years to build and was 24-7 noise and dust and shaking ground from machines and blasting... I know cause I lived on top of it. I suffered constant noise and pollution and what do i get? Nothing. I got fucked over by super-wealthy parasites; an externality. Firstly, no one in Queensland but a few contractors, a foreign toll road corporation, Newman and whoever else was getting kickbacks, ever wanted any new toll road of any sort in QLD; we're not stupid. Secondly, it's just not needed. Its convenient sometimes, but since Australians know paying tolls is morally wrong they can piss off. If we can't afford to build our own toll free roads then the wealthy parasites in society are getting a free ride and need to be taxed more. NEVER USE A TOLL ROAD!

i worked on this project. they couldn't have done it safer. it will be cool to see it finished. any mine site has stuff go wrong. Its why we got paid heaps
