Eggman is what Sonic and the gang call him in the games and stuff. But his legal name is Dr. Ivo Robotnik. :P

And that dress looks like something an orphan would wear. XD Why is Sonia looking at herself in the mirror with it? She's a high-maintenance girl!

Robotnik is the name the english company gave him for some reason -shrug-

I know this from reading a lot of comments on here

Actually you're wrong.

Both names are common in both eng and jap

Like GreenTeaHyuuga stated that his legal name is Robotnik and that Sonic and the gang call him Eggman. (Though much later on in the mid-nintey's, when Sonic was first created, it was simply Robotnik. Later on they came up with the name 'Eggman')

Wrong, then why does it say in game manuals(even the new ones) "Dr.Eggman Aka Dr. Robotnik.

He even claims in SA(and 2 I think) to be Robotnik.

I think Eggman is just the Sonic group's name for him, and his real one is Dr. Robotnik.

Robotnik is his actual surname. Proof that it is his surname is that two of his relatives have it in their names too.

Gerald Robotnik and Maria Robotnik. Eggman is just a nickname.

in the archie comics there are many eggmans, that take on robotniks ambition once he is destroyed, robotnik was the original, and he created the eggmans to take his place in his death.
