  • Love

  • sounds so 60s/70s. pretty awesome.

  • Rock Hall Of Fame, prepare yourself for some heavy drumming and guitar killing... in 8 years

  • meg's drums here are just SO COOL

  • decided to download this song at about 45 seconds in

  • i wish the intro kept going

  • this band should win the Nobel awesomness prize.like ive literally listened to like 20 of there songs and not 1 has sucked, their all awesum

  • amazing song - though widely unknown

  • epic song. gave me a boner

  • The sixties were great till the end. IDK what your talking about?

  • This song is incredible =)

  • I don't know if anyone has noticed this, but "Jimmy the Exploder", the first song on the first album, is the only song that starts with drums by itself first XD

  • @MrGameSpotz

Except it isn't the only song that starts with drums by itself, ie. "My Doorbell" or "Blue Orchid"

  • i am a guy and it is hard to admit but i nearly cried when i red the white stripes had stopped :(

  • Just listen to the music you guys! Quit comparing The Stripes to these other artists! Jack White performs with heart and his shit's raw and original so SHH and ENJOY the music for what is is WITHOUT comparison...

  • I think the Black Keys decided to take this song and base their entire sound off of it.

  • TONIGHT I CELBRATE THEIR PASSING, i will listen to every single song

  • @PastaCheifFilms Since you know all their songs whats the song that sounds like they're saying "You cant find what you cant find what you cant" or something, its been stuck in my head and I cant find it D: please please please help

  • @DGKALLDAY84 thats The Raconteurs - Store Bought Bones, Jack's second band.

  • @whitEstripEdElephant OH MY GOD THANK YOU SO MUCH I LOVE YOU

  • 2 people exploded because they weren't red

  • Dont forget Glam rock gods The Darkness.

  • Sounds like the Who!

  • @Phlemberg Didn't notice it until u posted your comment but it really reminds me of Heaven and Hell.

  • how come most good music died with the 20th century

  • @moonpie50 coz thats when you were born :3

  • @Diet0r TEE HEE HEE

  • @moonpie50

It died in the '80s and the late '90s, too.

  • @moonpie50 i fucking hate people complaining. shut the fuck up, you want garage/punk back? do it yourselves. yout cant expect a complaint on a youtube vid is gonna change anything. and dont leave it

    to record companies

  • this album is just like nirvana's bleach. low production, very punk, primitive, and without a doubt their best

  • jack white is such a great guitarist!

  • omg jack isnt wearing all red D:

  • @NEEDLES122 no but strangely enough he seems to have his hands down his pants at some point...

  • good album its great because of how rough they kinda sound

  • wow... he sounds just like robert plant.... fucking awesome!

  • How have you avoided copyright infringement for this? Is it just cause it's not under the control of the all-seeing WMG? My vids keep getting taken down :-/

  • Love the drums

  • @BodoGewalt everyone thinks shes shit though

  • THE WHITE STRIPES SA DECHIRE!!!!!

  • Lol @ Megs outfit on the first album cover.

  • @fizzgigify It's just a short red dress. She's holding a white jacket just like she is on the back cover.

  • @ElDoucho hmmm, that was a while ago, I think I actually meant the back artwork. The combination of the dress and her big white shoes. Not saying I don't like it, just made me laugh.

  • No longer starving artists, their work has suffered.

  • whats the real name of this song? on itunes it says Explorer

  • @Abstract67 Check Wikipedia, it's never wrong.

  • oh you lol

  • @ElDoucho Actually wiki is crap

  • @RyderX90 No shit, it was sarcasm.

  • "Jimmy The Exploder"

  • Man, this song is a gem! I remember this was the album that got me into them. I think it was December of 2000 that I discovered them. Of course, I'm sure there are plenty of others that discovered them much earlier, but how great of a sound they had. They've lost a touch of the vintage sound they had when they started, but still manage to rock out regardless!!!

  • One of the best song intro's ever

  • Agreed.

  • jack looks a bit like king buzzo here :P

  • i love that riff! so original. white stripes....

  • this is good stuff

  • To end the confusion, this song is about a monkey "Jimmy" with the power to explode things that are not red, and lives on an exclusive diet of red apples.

  • Exactly. Such an awesome idea for a song.

  • bands dont make music according to the year dumbass. im talking to the idiot that says every decade starts of good and gets bad. time is nothing but a human creation the way we see it.s not like on the last year of a decades bands all have a meeting planning a revolution idiot. what happens happens look at the sixties great til the end. what you say is unreasonable unsubstantiated rubbish

  • @willm1105

so what your saying is.... the sixties started out great, but got bad?

sir, I think you need to stop being hypocritical

  • @spot1333 "Great til the end." IE: Great up to the end, always great.

  • hahaha, I don't know why but I've always imagines this song is about a sexual "explosion"...weird

  • some kinda of messed up super-hero ... who's power is - He explodes, and gets better, in red spandex ... with a monkey side-kick.

  • You saying Meg's a monkey.....?

  • i dont picture n e guy blowing up, i just picture some guy dragging an axe and smiling near a shed or something, then jack white rocking out lol

    x

  • this song always makes me imagine a random guy blowing up

  • me too, except for the guy i imagine is fat...idk why

  • oh ,well idk but whenever i post videos for music i only use the ones that i own the CD but idk about itunes...

  • you're kind of a fag V2

  • you're the one who can't handle copyrighted material on youtube. ya dumbass

  • did u own the CD or did u try to use downloaded audio?

  • i love the stripes, i think this is their best album!! It just has that true hard sound about it. No statement, no nothing just a hard cool sound with balls

  • whoa.. her tom sounds weird

  • Probably loosened them up, or tightned.

  • white stripes machen den besten rock in den letzten 10 jahren

  • ohhh yeahhhhhhh!

  • qba95 - I'm with you - Raconteurs are the coolest - great live

  • I kinda like this album the best i dont even own it but its fucking good

  • I really love Icky Thump, I think it's their best album to be honestly. All the albums are really great but icky Thump is just so.. Don't know how to describe it:P

  • Only album with no red in its cover? :D

  • ??? what do you mean?

  • one of the few good bands today...i miss the early 2000s when garage rock like this was HOT...stuff like the strokes, the white stripes, jet, etc...we need some kinda revolution like that to happen again because the music now just aint good anymore...it's all about the damn jonas brothers and hannah montana and such

  • listen to "the raconteurs" (another jack's band with brendan benson, jakc lawrence and patrick keller) they're really great! :]

  • Yeah it's not the same as this though, it's all over produced

  • This is how every decade in music works. You get great, honest, cool music at the beginning, and it goes on till about mid decade, then dies off and by the last 2 to 3years of the decade the music industry finds out how to commercialize it and turn it into shit. Then people stop listening to the commercialist crap and the cycle repeats.

  • so right.

  • haha nice point; i highly agree. JB and HM suck. The Strokes and TWS rule. Now we have rap crap and pop flop

  • You're right. The Strokes are totally on par with the Jonas Brothers. The only difference is they deserve the recognition and the Jonas Brothers don't.

  • @SteveO092088 man there is right now. just check out the detroit scene. tonnnnns of awesome garage rock bands. i mean like countless. the dirtbombs, the von bondies, the hentchmen, the go, the sights, ko and the knockouts. there are a bunch.

  • @SteveO092088 Da music Tast gud don't it

  • @SteveO092088 I'm Working on a massive album filled with covers of practically everything plus my original work, and a crapload of art, it's going to be a massive explosion to destroy the corporate rock world. Look up the Nathaniel Warren Allen page on facebook for more info.

  • @SteveO092088 Agreed- the Awesome Snakes and Silversun Pickups are awesome bands if you like the garage rock sound. Good for the soul.

  • @SteveO092088 sorry, the 2000s are over

  • @SteveO092088 and its only getting worse, mainstream is at least

  • @SteveO092088 Every generation, music is taken out of the dirty disease-ridden hands of the corporate whores and thrust violently back into the hands of kids.

Kids who piss off their old neighbors and split the sidewalks with some new thing blasting out of their garage amps that will sweep the dying riffs of the stale, stagnant bastardization of what rock has become under the rug, and start fresh.

  • @FallenPastry

It's coming soon, too. I can feel it in the air near my fingers. We're on the cusp of that revolution, and I can't wait to be a part of it.

  • @mussman717word Your not the only one. Make no mistake everyone, this man is is telling the truth!

  • @mussman717word Yeah, Jacks been producing bands and digging people out of the wood work, same with the guy from the black keys.

  • @SteveO092088 You must not be digging deep enough, go past the mainstream Disney ,BET and MTV. And look for the bands like Gorillaz, Wolfmother, White Stripes, Minus the Bear, Kasabian, and Foetus and the like. And you have an entourage of music at your feet, good music too. Not AutoTune, not synthesizers up the ass. Pure un-adulterated music. Find even one of those bands and you'll know when and where to look.

  • @SteveO092088 Jet??? hahahah - should not be mentioned in the same way as those other two, really important bands. Jet had nothing to do with what was happening in 2001.

  • @65neu agreed. Jet belongs with the other butt-rock bands like Nickelback, etc etc.

  • @SteveO092088 Jet? LoL. you are talking about mainstream music. try listening to some underground music. that's where the best is.

  • @Naytinfinity So I suppose you are one of those people who like bands when they're unknown, then as soon as they become well-known you start changing your mind and saying they suck? That's ridiculous. A mainstream band can be JUST as good as underground bands. Sure, a lot of them suck, but I've heard underground bands that suck shit too. Quite frankly, popularity doesn't matter. It's the music that I'm interested in.

  • @TheStijlStyle Jet isnt that popular. one song is popular. you know the song. also, i'm glad that you took the liberty of telling me what i am. one of THOSE guys. the guys that hate popular bands. i'm sorry to say i'm not like that at all. as long as the artist doesn't compromise the music for popularity.unfortunately many do. that's why i hate Jet. not because they are popular but because they are a cheap ripoff of the strokes and cash in on it.

  • @Naytinfinity I never told you what you are, I said I suppose you are like that. Because that's what you came across as in your post. I was offended by your post because, quite frankly, I don't mind Jet. Problem is, here on Youtube so many people have differing opinions that arguments break out for silly little reasons. Like this. Sorry for offending you and I hope you can forgive me so we can drop this before it gets out of hand - let's just focus on the amazing band that is the White Stripes.

  • @Naytinfinity

What?? Since when has Jet been a ripoff of the Strokes? They're a 70's style rock band. The Strokes don't even come close to having that vibe.

  • @ZenCatcher uhhh? okay. whatever you say

  • @Naytinfinity

That's not much of an argument, dude. Jet gets compared to a lot of older 60's/70's bands but I've never seen a comparison to the Strokes.

  • @SteveO092088 Fuck yeah man, im with ya down with this shitty modern music. REVOLUTION.

  • yeah how come any classic rock band there 1st and 4th albums are the best

hey im 15 got to love this shit of today, i like the white stripes first album

  • jimmy is a monkey who can explode things with his mind things which arnet red becuase he hate

  • White stripes are so awesome

  • nice one you

  • one oof their best songs

  • SEX!!!! YAY!!!

  • This song sounds like something that came from the 1960's. I love it.

  • And that's exactly why we love the Stripes so much.

They don't change for anybody. :]

  • yyyyeeeeaaaaahhhhh.. >_*

  • I really like the picture!

  • Lol =P That wasn't directed at you ColorMyAlphabet, it was for whitEstripEdElephant,

  • This song scares me

    I dont know why.

  • Icky Thumpis your favourite album? Can I ask why? Or did I misread the description and this album is your favourite

  • This is my favorite album.. :P The description of the video is kinda lame.. I hate it.. Don't know why I wrote it.. Guess I'm to lazy to change it.. xP

  • Ah, Ok then I agree =P I love the cover of One More Cup Of Coffee.
