  • I dont like remakes really, but The Ring is a fucking GREAT remake ,witch have this mysterious and creepy Atmosphere.

  • A kedvenc filmem!

  • THE BEST MOVIE EEEEVVERRRRRRRRRRRR

  • This version was good but because the scariest elements were the faces and samyra coming out of the tv, I'm going to go with the american version as the better one.

  • Yes that was great. And the comments are hilarious on here! xD

  • Good ol' bag-head man

  • A brilliant horror film. This is better than the remake in my opinion because it is slow an throws a scary scene right in the face and I was frozen with goosebumps all over! The remake was good but did not affect me as much... even though the images and direction was stunning

  • If you watch the other stories in the series or try to read the books, things get VERY confusing. Something about an actual virus...mixing tehcnology with biology...

  • So she's guna make her dad watch it??? What a bitch!

  • whats the song over the credits at the end?

  • @lilypie07 "Feels Like Heaven" by HIIH

  • hmmm.. i watched american version wen i was seven with bro and sis. it wasnt scary but now i just finished watchin this stuff and i think i shit my pants...

  • @MapeXyaHHa American version was still scarier, and more atmospheric IMO. This one is still good.

  • You just gotta copy it, not show it to someone else...

  • Ahhh I get it sadoko didnt want to feel like she was the only monster that's why she made people make people watch it so they die.

  • okay, that was it? like, just that!

  • Disappointed and not scared.

  • Great film but why sacrifice her father to lift the curse, why not a co worker ?

  • Funny thing, she showed the original to Ryu before copying. So all she has to do is get that wee lad to copy it and sell it on ebay.

  • @bazeye I'm guessing she'd tell the grandad what would happen to him and he'll do it willingly, seeing how much he loves Yoichi. Then it would be more of a sacrafice and less of a murder.

Just my interpretation though, maybe she just really hates her dad. XDD

  • Comment removed

  • @CatAngelheart - I prefer your interpretation of the situation, it would be more consistent with her personality which just exposes how unimaginative I can be sometimes :)

  • ...poor daddy

  • Ez a kedvenc filmem! amit valaha láttam,

    nagyon,nagyon szeretem,nekem is megvannak az

    összes filmjei.

    Mai Takano, Asakava Reiko.

  • Wait, I don't understand. If all you had to do to survive was copy it, why did they only consider that at the end and instead go through all that irrelevant crap just to complete a backstory? I mean, if they found the body and uncovered the murder, isn't that where the curse should be lifted? I originally assumed that the whole "rage" thing was she wanted to get the story out to reveal her murder. The ending ruined that theory, now I'm lost. Why else would the tape even exist?

  • @turquoiseguy it existed because she was angry. she didn't need someone to knnow because that wouldn't be rage, that would be attention. what she wants is people to kill and to make other people kill by making others watch the video.

  • @onceapiece thanks for the comment. I sort of assumed that, but I am still aggravated by the ending because it makes everything they did in the movie pointless. I mean, I know it was made that way to portray the plot to the viewer, but I feel it could have been in done in a better way than to have the conclusion undermine everything that was done.

  • I saw again the movie, she and he watch the original and he, the ex-husband. asks her to copy the cassette and she did.So the curse goes to the guy.

  • Great, classic horror movie.... So influential!

  • since the guy only watched the copy, should he have made a copy of the copy? make another copy of the original? or just watch the original?

  • sorry, I didn't understand, at the beginning when she's in the cabin she watch the original cassette moreover when her ex-husband takes a picture of her, her face is blurred and then why she is not cursed? she watched the original cassette once and then...? she should be cursed. Could anyone explain? thanks.

  • @giulene its a chain letter type of thing. you have to copy and show it to someone else in order to live

  • @giulene she watched the copy after watching the original n thats how u dont die. n i think the guy died cuz he only watched the copy.

  • @JEluvs2laugh Now I think to understand she doesn't die 'cause shows it her ex-husband, but this one only watches and doesn't show the cassette to someone else.

The ex-husband, asI remember, watches the original or she already made a copy?

  • @giulene ya the husband never saw the original, only the copy. the lady saw the original and saw the copy, with her ex, which is why she didn't die. i guess if you only see the copy you arent safe

  • @JEluvs2laugh I agree with you, but in the 3 or 4 part she brings the original at husband's home they watch it together and then the husband ask her to make a copy, I watched the movie again yesterday evening just for this matter. At least you Must watch it necessary to another person to be safe. However I think if you give the original to another person for watching you are safe.

  • @giulene wait what was the last part? i cant understand.

  • @JEluvs2laugh not the last part, I mean when she goes to husband's home and she shows to him the cassette, after watching he asks her to make a copy.

  • kuru kitto kuru = Surely come

  • ...why did the video cassette tape in japan have COPY printed on it...?

  • that is one gorgeous woman!

  • wait wait... why was this information only considered relevant at the end. OH NO WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE WHAT TO DO.... IGNORE THE ONLY THING THAT WILL SAVE US!

  • COPY THIS COMMENT AND POST IT ON ANOTHER VIDEO

OR SADAKO WILL KILL YOU IN A WEEK.

    Lol! Lesson learned.

  • wow, movie was great, but the credit music was horrible. lol!

  • Epic ending

  • when ur abt to die show it to ur friend or smeone when he/she is abt to die ask em to show it to u this way u will nvr have to die :))))))

  • I don't undestand the title of the film, there's nothing related to a dirty, stuck up, sadistic, shit eating, cock sucking, butt fucking, penis smelling, crotch grabbing, ball licking, semen drinking, dog raping, nazi loving, child touching, cow humping, pervertist, voilentist, heartless, mindless, dickless, testical choking, urine gargling, jerk offing horse faced, sheep fundeling, toilet kissing, self cantered, feciese puking, dildo shoving, snot spitting, crap grabbin, big nose f*ckin ring!!!

  • @XDranzer000 you know the well forms a rings

  • @XDranzer000 When the lid was placed on the well after her father pushed(bashed) her in, the light from the outside seeped in between the well and the lid. Since it was circular it was a ring. So the only thing she could see as she was dying trying to climb out was a ring at the top.

  • @XDranzer000 lol love your comment. XDD aside from the obvious well thing, you need to show it to someone else to live and they must show it to someone else, etc...it never ends, it's a loop or a RING.

also, the telephone RINGs after you watch it. LOL XD

  • Some dude took it from a Porn Rental,

    1 week later....

He lose his virginity to Sadako!!!

  • Great movie and all... but you can't deny the fact that the skeleton stuff and pretty much everything on that volcano island was unnecessary, as showing the copied tape to someone else was enough to save the person who watched the original. Oh and btw., why did she show the copied tape to her father and not some stranger or bum? Kind of a whorish move :/

  • Great movie and all... but you can't deny the fact that the skeleton stuff and pretty much everything on that volcano island was unnecessary, as showing the copied tape to someone else was enough to save the person who watched the original. • 日本と同じ結末にすると、アメリカ国内から受け入れられないと判断して

    、US版はちょっと変えたんだよね。

  • Remeber kids, dont give hugs to bitches who kill people. Hug pandas instead. :)

  • FACE AT 0:46! EPIC CROSS-EYE FAIL LOL

  • this is the chick: "Imma show this shit to the bitch who took my parking spot!!!"

  • I like the gay dance music for the credits.

  • @trentacid008 OMG NAME!

  • this movie was boring >.> sorry but this was boring the mood was much scarrier in the hollywood version... and the plot there was much more interestin... this was full of talking//

  • so can somebody tell me why this movie became a worldwide hit? dang!

  • fu*kin ending song

  • so u just have to make a copy of the video and show it to some 90 old and the curse ends!

  • So it's like one of those creepy chain letters that you get in your inbox

  • Oh, well that wasn't so bad. Phew!

  • all u hve to do is to copy the tape and let someone watch it..

  • Whoever produced that video is gonna be really pissed once they find out all these people have been bootlegging it.

  • @Phaexos Oh man, think how mad they'll be when they find out about all the people, like you, who have watched and supported the bootlegged copies! *gasp*

  • Grandpa, will u watch this cured video to save your grandson's life?

  • Remake: Scary ONLY because of scary effects and music

Original: Scary, Suspencefull, and you can't stop watching!

  • wow nice gay techno beat in the end to make me stop feeling scared

  • amazing classic!

  • すっげ~怖え~!(SUGGEE KOEEE!)

    What a scary movie!

  • Grandpa :'(

  • the song in the end................ scares me

  • Also im not into J-Pop but im diggin that song at the end

  • Just finished this movie, it wasnt as scary as the American Ring but it was very good. It showed the Japanese culture and I love that, same with the Grudge and Ju-on

  • poor granpa

  • In the American version I think that kid was came off as this arrogant prick and a little irritating for some reason.I just felt like punching him in the face _-_ This japanese kid was way better than that american one.

  • lol why was the word "copied" in english?

  • Great movie, but I first watched the american version and I think thats the better one, don't you?

  • .....This wasn't a scary movie. It was an EXCELLENT movie, but I didn't get any scares from it.

  • @Taraka1 Its scary when you watched it years ago. Before youtube existed. At night on TV.Cos thats when I watched it and got scared to shit bits.

  • @Ryuuusa

Actually I've become practically immune to being scared by films. Some Video games are scary to me, but its because of the immersive effects. I love Ringu though, it has some creepy parts, but I didn't feel on edge. But it's because in the last few years I've watched almost non stop horror films so I can write my own.

  • Ringu/The Ring is just like one giant chain letter, only scarier and something that actually happens. :D

  • I don't really understand the guy with a cloth over his head still. :/ I mean, he helped her with the idea to copy the movie, but he was also in Sadako's memories pointing to something, anyone else understand?

  • @jneafb Guy in TV is the guy who just died (Ryuuji was it?), helping Reiko to find the copy. The cloth guy in the tape is Sadakos former lover, god knows what he's pointing at. And the cloth over the head trend has something to do with dead people in Japan.

  • @DiabolicHeart that's exactly right

  • @DiabolicHeart Are you serious about the cloth over the head thingie? Because i had a dream there was someone sitting in my room. With that cloth over his/her head and it was all bloody. The same style like the guy in the movie.

  • @lol38810 I guess so, it's either that or he's preventing himself from getting a heat-stroke.

  • i don't like this film

  • this is the original, but the american remake is scarier. O.O

  • While not taking anything from the Japanese original, I nevertheless prefered the American version. It was more creepier to me.

  • I ♥'d this version MUCH MUCH better than american.

i lol'd at the american version a bit.

while this one.... i found myself a bit jumpy when it ended....

    TIME FOR JU-ON!

  • so.. instead of asking some stranger to watch the tape, she choose she make her father watch it instead. wat a great daughter ...

  • American version was much better...how many fucking names to these Japs have? She called her ex husband by like 3 or 4 different names!

  • Hmm am I the only one who prefers the American version? This just didn't do much for me.....although props for the plot and such go to Ringu, since this is the original.

  • I would like to know the song name also!!!

  • Does anyone know the name of the song that's played during the credits?

  • Well I've seen both versions now, and I like them both. I will say that the American version is a hell of a lot scarier. The American version uses unique atmosphere(with audio effects, and great, but subtle music) to create that chilling vibe. And the special effects were well-done, but not over-done(which is rare these days). I won't lie, most of today's movies are remakes anyway, and they're bogus. But in this case both movies came out well done.

  • just watched this version, and i much prefer the american remake, it's so much scarier than this.

  • nice techno music

  • @filth69ify1 lol, so out of place...

  • so... all that skeleton hug was useless after all.....

  • @hyogalovervashsama

Nope, it made the ghost girl fall in love with her; think that she was her new mother. At least that's how it was in the English one. I am going to watch the 2nd now

  • @HidanKitten32 nope it was indeed useless because she wasn't going to be killed even if she didn't rescued her body. she was saved because she passed on the curse. and as for the English Version..... it was never meant to be...

  • @hyogalovervashsama

    yeah it was...damn

  • i can't believe she's willing to kill her dad to save her son...i would show it to a bastard who i hate...like justin bieber or something

  • @freaknerdzilla I would kill my neighbour who likes to play very loud music at 4 o clock in the night. and her taste in music is terrible....

  • @freaknerdzilla

No, she showed it to her dad and told him to copy it and tell whoever he's showing it to to do the same. Like a chainmail, cept with an actual result if you don't comply.

  • @freaknerdzilla can more than one person show it to the same person? cuz i want to show it to the bieber kid too.

  • @freaknerdzilla But the father is old already, he would die any year now.

  • @freaknerdzilla Now u're talking

  • great movie! nut i like the american version a LOT better. but you cant make a classic without the original, right? ^_^

  • i thought the american version was much better much props to this one it was still pretty good !!

  • I still like the american version better, but this version kicked ass and well, it came first, so...

  • i never liked ring... i firstly watched it american version... and now this.. and i think this version was much better then american...

  • Thank you for uploading this.

  • Well, she could always tell him to show a copy to someone else...

  • I liked this a lot, but my heart stays with Ju on :)

  • her dad is so mean, GO GIRL :)))))))))))

  • cant the kid just show her, and she copies the tape and shows him, and he copies the tape and shows her, make it go in a circle forever so no innocent die?

  • greaaat movie!! ^º^

  • Everyone says the japanese version is waay scarier! The American movie was way better >>;

  • come on guys he's old, that is the whole point

  • I saw the American first: here's what it did better. 1.) The budget is much larger for the U.S. and it shows. Im not saying bigger budget is better but in this case i thought so. Second the Japanese version REALLY asks you to suspend the HELL outta beliefs for the just about everything.

  • The story, the character, the plot. I mean its almost all legend and myths that comprise plot points in it. Third, they reall'y didnt flesh out sadako too much in Ringu, She was much more scary as a super evil kid. And lastly the pacing for the American I thought was better, it kept me intrested in what was going on. Both good movies though.

  • @biggreatewhite who cares the americans copied, so the japs are saved ;)

  • Ringu turns into a party @2:25

  • え、これで終わり?笑

  • What a horrible ending.

  • and try to feel what she does. He race against Time and a power unknown and fatal, to save that which is most precious to her. The Ring is all about making people scream. Like all American horror, the word pathetic doesn't even begin to describe its intentions. If A Nightmare of Elm Street is a classic, that's all one can expect from Hollywood.

Feel the movie. And you will find fear. Real fear.

  • To people who think The Ring is better than Ringu: The point of the movie, I feel is to convey the very suffocation and the constant anxiety one feels when one knows that death is approaching and fast. Its a movie that's supposed to scare by sensation, not by sight [ as is the case of most of jhorror]. Blood, Gore, Twisted faces, all these are subsidiary elements to epress that very horror. The movie is meant to be felt. So, for a while, put yourself in Asakawa's position,

  • wow that was epic :D I liked the American version more, but this version gets major kudos on the ending.. that was great.

  • Good movie!!

    Thak You!

  • Comment removed

  • for some reason, for this whole movie the song "Jack and Diane" was playing through my head =D.

i'd say the japanese version of the ring was the last of the real horror movies. The horror movies nowadays (you know what i mean) are not horror movies but just gore-fests.

Oh and horror movies don't scare me. I must have no soul :3

  • My birthday is September 22nd... and I like techno music. I FINALLY UNDERSTAND!

  • I thought the american version was more interesting.

  • How could that be? The scary scene in ringu was much better than the american version. The scary scene in the american version was spoiled by the special effects. However, the american version is still worth a watch

  • This is one of the times when I like both the original and the remake. Both are really good. The others like the Grudge, Pulse, etc., I gotta stick to the original versions.

  • meh. i think the American version was scarier. i also think it had a better story. but that's just me.

  • @Koneko716 no the scene in the jap version was way scarier

  • Ok, this movie was good, but the American one was scarier. This didn't scare me at all. I'm not trying to be mean about it, because I didn't know it was originally Japanese until yesterday, and if I had seen this first, I probably would've liked it better, but I think the American was scarier.

    Japanese version = better story

    American version = scarier/more gory

  • Trust me, if you have seen the Japanese version first your conclusion might be

    American version - better story

Japanese version - much scarier and better ending

  • lol wth, the music at the end totally had me laughing because after I just watched the whole suspensful/scary movie, they decide to add techno dance music. Yeah that makes sense

  • wait, she shows it to her father?? why doesnt she just show it to someone she doesnt know or like?

  • @leviosa2812 She was saying that he would have to show it to someone else, and then they would have to show someone else too. It's neverending

  • well i hope she helps her dad and find some other dumb-a@# to watch it

  • Neat ending. I wish I didn't know from the start that she comes out of the TV, or that would have been a serious brick-shitter.

  • huh? o-o.....i dun get it @~@

  • wasn't as scary as i thought it would be

in fact, it wasn't scary at all

guess that's why they allowed it on youtube

  • @xMangaFanx umm theirs alot of movies that are on youtube.

  • The American version is underated. I must admit, i liked it more than the original. It was scarier. Not to say this wasn't good, but I just prefer the remake.

  • ii have to be honest the american version was much more scary...i didnt find this scary at all...

  • @juliaaw0 Because you knew ahead what to expect. Obviously if you already know the story, watching a remake or the original as a second view, it won't be as scary as the first.

I for one found the Ring very plain and hollow :/

I personally don't find it a bad remake to be honest, just not as good as the original, may it scarier or not.

  • @ImaginaryVoncroy

    i agree...

if i'd watched the original first my views mite be different bt as it stands now... i really thing the remake is better

  • @juliaaw0 The problem that I have with the Ring is it's just not believable in the culture it was put in. The Ring story has a strong Japanese background to it and that couldn't be translated in the remake. It's pointless to have an onryou in an American horror movie because Western ghosts and demons are not like that. What Hollywood did was basically making the Ring cheaper, trying to copy every cultural aspect of the story and proclaiming its own. The result was ok, but not really good.

  • @juliaaw0 For example, I for one do not find the Ring scarier at all :/ and it did not respect the deaths of the original novel. Trying to make uglier faces in the dead people doesn't make the movie scarier, it's just proves American audiences like over-the-top effects and gory corpses, when Sadako's victims are not even supposed to die like that (maybe Ju-on's Kayako, but not Sadako). If you knew how the people in the Ring really die (the origin of the virus), you'd certainly agree with me.

  • @juliaaw0 perhaps but you wouldn't have been scared at all by the American REMAKE if it weren't for this film since America hasn't come up with any of their OWN horror movie ideas they always copy from some other country or what not.

  • @ClaireBluvNikki Isn't it sad that people find the Ring's success an American success? Plus, people say the remake is scarier because of the faces of the victims die - I thought those face pointless. If you actually know the novel the Ring is based on, you'll understand the virus responsible for the curse hence why people get that face when they die in this movie. Those over-the-top faces in the remake is sooo Hollywood. Sadako kills by suffocating them, she doesn't pass them herpes -.-'

  • @ClaireBluvNikki you can't tell me i wouldn't have been scared by the remake if it wasnt 4 Ringu America took Ringu and made it better...probably the only film they did snatch, remake n actaully worked.

i didn't no the ring was a remake when it came out way back then n it scared the shit out of me...maybe if i did c this film first i would have had a few scares bt if u wanna compare the American version was much more scary then Ringu...the story line and everything was just....BETTER!!!

  • just ends like that? ths is so not scary at all.
